Success, today I was able to put on my new corset without breaking an arm getting it tied.

Wearing this sure made me aware of how bad my posture is, and sitting is a challenge.  Love this though and I finally am starting to get some girlie shape that I really want.

Anyone have tips they can share for corset wear?

Hugs

Brienna

I have been wearing corsets for about a year off and on. I usually wear a camisole underneath rather than having the corset directly against me. I have worn it to work a few times during the winter when I had on some bulky clothes that I thought helped hide the fact that I was wearing one. I think it is a bit ironic that most women I know would shudder at the thought of wearing a corset but I actually love how it feels. The only time I have available to wear it is the few hours a night that I am home so I started wearing it to bed. As a result I have seen my waist reduce about an inch when I'm not wearing it. I know because the guy pants that used to fit me a bit snugly are now very loose in the waist.

Getting it tight had been an issue. Then I read about using the door knob. With a closed door, loop one of the ties over the knob then get a good hold of the other free one. Lean into the one around the knob as you pull the other. Then switch sides and do it again. It is amazing how much tighter you can get it using this technique. I have had mixed results with tying the strings behind my back so I usually just bring them around the front and tie them off. Also I have discovered that if I put it on and cinch it up then come back an hour later, I can cinch it up further. I can now lace the first corset tight enough for the back sides to touch and have since gone one size smaller.

Hope this helps.

I too use the door to tighten the corset, but I do it a little different. First I cut the corset's cord in half. Then starting one cord at the top and the other at the bottom, I thread the two cords so they come together at the center of the corset. With the door open, I wrap the two right end around the right door knob and the left two ends around the left door knob. I then just lean forward to tighten the corset.

Good idea Idie...I will try that. Every girl should have at least one corset......apart from shapping, it helps keep back straight and clear up back pain. Rather hot in summer thou.

I must have ate too much spinach yesterday, when I was cinching my corset the stitching on one of the steel bones ripped out...:(

I fixed it today  🙂

If it is a good one it will fit you and your body very quickly gets used to it. If practically possible I would wear mine all the time. It is improving my posture and I have noticed that even when I do not wear it my body keeps the posture anyway. I have noticed as well that my back and shoulders starts adjusting the same way. Wear it frequently if you can. 😉
