Over the last few months, I have been having shoulder pain usually in the middle of the shoulder. It started mainly on my left side, but it affects both sides now. It aches enough that I have woken up before sunrise from it and enough to take Tylenol, which does help with this pain. My Dr. doesn't know what could be causing it yet, either.

I don't know why this started, so I have to ask. Has anyone else experienced shoulder pain like this after wearing breast forms?

The reason that I ask is because I started wearing my heaviest forms, to date, and am wondering if they are causing the pain. They are only 400g each, so less than 1 pound, but I have worn them for many hours at a time, too. My other forms are 250g or less each. That doesn't sound like a lot of difference, but something is causing the ache and it is really annoying.

Anyone else have this kind of problem from small forms?

This was unexpected.

I got a call from my GP after he saw the results of a blood test that was done on Monday. One of the numbers (C-RP) triggered him to calling right away, since it was through the roof. It indicates that I have inflammation going on, so I will go to Emergency, today, and let them figure out this puzzle.

My shoulder pain is from standing too long or from being pulled by a giant dog for two miles twice per day.

I don't know your age, but just about anything aside from the ordinary will cause previously unused, or under used muscles to ache. Give it a couple weeks and you should be okay. If not, get back to your doctor.

Hi Hariette,

Besides being blessed as a cross dresser, I am also blessed by an "experienced" age. As one that sits a lot for work in front of computers and devices, I developed a bad habit of bad posture. Add to that the wearing of heels and bras, I also feel pains in the shoulders and back occassionally. I don't work out as regularly as I should, but have gotten better about that to strengthen all muscles, but especially abs and back. I am not seeking any sort of muscularity, but rather being in good shape, by doing cardio excercises primarily to maintain a size 12. I started regularly going to the chiropractor to crack the back and neck once a month. I don't admit to heels and bras, but I usually dress 1 to 2 times a week. The pains I used to have improved and along with acupuncture and massages everything feels a lot better. Hope this helps and that's my 2 cents.

XOXO

Karensa

@mary The bras are tight enough to keep the forms from fully hanging off of my shoulders. Straps are not tight.

@michaela2001 Yeah, it's a real puzzle. There has to be a reason for it. I am doing what I can to figure it out.

I wear my forms, also 400g each, in a bra every day. I wear them probably 8-15hrs a day most days, for the last 7yrs, and have not had any aches & pains from wearing them. I hope you get some answers to your problem.

I am beginning to think that my pain is coming from the wearing of bras holding the weight of forms. When I don't wear forms, the pain decreases.

When I was a teenager, I was a paperboy lugging around a heavy bag of papers. The strap was always on my left shoulder. This changed my posture such that my left shoulder still droops a little compared to my right one. The pain is mainly in the middle of the left shoulder where the bra straps are. Doctors have no common reason for intermittent pain to be there.

I will monitor this more, but things are still pointing to the bra straps holding weight there constantly.

Also, there are a few members here who have had heart surgery, recently. Mine was last August, so, let's say, 7 months ago. Before surgery, I would do chin-ups on a bar at home, maybe 15-20 reps in a set, to keep some upper body strength in my declining years. I experimented doing some again, recently, spread out days apart. The first four sets of five went OK. Something happened during the fifth set. This was too soon to restart.

Chin-ups take the strain parallel to the sternum, not like push-ups which would try to spread it, so I thought that it would be relatively safe to try and it was OK for a while. Wait on doing either exercise.
