A married couple who have completely accepted me in fem mode popped round last night. I was dressed in midi skirt, tights, boobs and make up and we just sat around and chatted with me making sure my hem line stayed below my knees! It was a lovely evening and after they left they sent a message saying how happy I seemed, and I was as it was all so natural and I felt completely like the me I wish to be all the time but not quite ready for that yet as I still look like a bloke in a skirt, I wish to look so that people aren't sure of my gender, I'm getting there as my hair is growing and my make-up abilities improving.

I've been out quite a lot now, but haven't had an evening like this with people I know (other than family and other CD/TGs). Maybe I'll get around to that eventually, but at the moment the thought is still pretty daunting.
I'm quite happy talking to the postman, delivery people and so on in full Ellie mode but I'd need a few stiff drinks before I did it with friends!

Good friends indeed ! I'm really pleased for you. What a great situation to be in.
I'm still very private, but ever so slowly opening up and develping a 'my house, my rules'. approach.
An old friend has been stopping over, and has now seen me in morning attire - I just throw on a sweater dress and black tights. Just day to day stuff, hardly high fashion. Things seem to be fine. And when I pointed out that he gets up before me, so he could always bring me up a cup of tea when he makes his, I now get a polite knock on the bedroom door, and in he walks with my first cuppa - and I don't need to hide the satin cami I'm wearing under the bedsheets. Result 🙂

yes they are lovely, unlike another friend of over 50 years who told me that I'm "disgusting" - lesson is hang on to the good and jettison the bad

It is so nice to have accepting friends and that was a lovely evening with the added boost of a nice message.
Once you become more confident in yourself and develop you may find other good friends that will accept you. Of course it is unknown but you will never know unless you try. For my part I chose carefully and wisely with work colleagues and it couldn't have gone better which led to me being where I am today. The ones you gain outweigh the ones you lose as it is the person they like not the way you dress.
What a lovely evening Randi, and how nice was that to send the message the next day too 🙂 It's so good to be able to be yourself with people, especially when they have known the 'old' you. Here's hoping many more of your friends are just that - proper friends. Like Angela says, that they're friends with you as a person, hence happy to accept your new presentation.

WOW, I'm envious. 
I am so lucky that I have amazing friends. Not one of them has any problems with my crossdressing. I spent the weekend at a show with a group of friends. I had the usual micky taking, but this is how I know that they are true friends. If they didn't take the mick, I'd know that they were not comfortable. Those that I thought would have problems with my "hobby" were some of the most accepting.
My friends often ask questions, and like to talk about my crossdressing. I think I've educated some into the world of crossdressing and maybe being trans. Many people do not realise that there is a difference.
My friends accept me in either mode. Some seems disappointed when I don't turn up in Cerys mode.
You really find out who your friends are when you show up in a minskirt and boots 🙂
