I have always hated my hairy legs but shaving them as been a hard no from my wife.  I did it once many years ago and she became so angry I never tried it again.  This week my wife said that all that gray hair on my legs didn't really look good so she was ok if I shaved it off.  Wow, what a shock and a wonderful surprise.  I am writing this with smooth legs and I feel so happy.  It's been about a week now and no one including friends and family has made a comment so I haven't even had to deal with that concern.  Of course in my excitement  to get them shaved I removed a two inch strip of skin from one of my shins but It will heal and I will be more careful in the future.

What is really special is that I get to enjoy my smooth feminine legs 24/7 and not just when I can dress.  This is giving me so much joy I don't even know how to express it.

@michellemybell

I've kept legs, arms and chest hair free for over a year now. Before that I used to shave intermittently, then let it all grow back, worrying that having permanently shaved arms and legs would draw comment.

Eventually I just thought 'What the hell, it's my body and I should be able to do what I want.' So I just went for it ... and nobody said a thing.

It's been an absolute joy - and of course the feel of a skirt or dress swishing around smooth bare legs is one of the many great pleasures of crossdressing 🙂

@ellyd22 No question about it. The feel of a summer dress or skirt on a windy day by the ocean shore is absolute heaven and something I greatly look forward to. I don't know why but it makes me feel so very feminine (which is exactly the feeling I'm always searching for)

@ellyd22 I sometimes wear a satin nightshirt to bed and the feeling of it brushing against my smooth legs is indeed heavenly.

I've just replied to Emma's very similar post and yes, I'm in total agreement with the feeling of hairfree legs.

I've only done my legs so far but I mentioned to Emma that I'd like to see what a salon can do so maybe I'll just get a whole body wax while I'm at it 🤔.

@michellemybell Don't take "The 40 Year Old Virgin" as the standard. I've been getting waxed on my arms, legs, chest, stomach, and back for almost 10 years. Where I go I have to wear boxer briefs so that area they don't wax there. Last week I had them wax my nose hair too (it was a free sample) and I thought that would be bad but it really wasn't.

Where I go they use a hard wax, which I like much better than the soft wax. Soft wax is a honey-like texture, and you put a muslin strip on top to pull off the wax and hair. I found it tended to stick to the skin, particularly in areas where there was more loose skin (stomach or top of the legs) and pull the skin there which made it hurt more.

A hard wax is more like a soft candle wax. It goes on and then hardens, and when they pull it off, the hairs come with it. When done right, it doesn't pull on the skin the same way. The first few times it stung a little, but it fades in 10-15 seconds. If they give it a rub right after, it passes quickly. It's like removing a band-aid from your arm. If you pull it slow it hurts like hell. If you pull it quickly it stings and quickly fades. After a while only a few areas sting just a little.

My knees and forearms still are troublesome areas where the hair tends to grow back quickly. But with waxing, I can go 5-6 weeks between waxing appointments and be relatively smooth for most of it. (When you start, it is more likely to be 4 weeks.) The hairs also tend to grow back finer and will pull out easier over time (less pain). The biggest disadvantage is the cost.

Discomfort? You mean more painful than just having legs done? Hmmm, methinks further research is in order before making any rash (no pun intended...or invited, Ms D😊) decisions!

No, it's just the only icon involving boots that's available on the site if you access it via a PC 🙁

I need to locate a source of icons involving a much more fabulous range of footwear ...

Thanks be to the deity of your choice for that! Not that I have any desire to alienate any line dancing aficionados among the membership. It's just not my cup of cured leaf beverage.

If you do find a good source of icons,  please share.

I got so effing sick of body hair.  It all had to go years ago.

Tried all the usual....razors, potions, epilators (ouch!), waxing.  They all work....albeit temporarily.

Then I got so effing sick of hair removal.  A chore and nothing more.  Enter laser.  Well worth the expense.  Considerable expense.

Smooth skin is a slippery slope.  The longer you have it the more you want it.  Like forever.  Start saving!

Yeah that's a problem.  I'm glad I got it done when I did.  I'm getting electrolysis on my face and it's torture.  I couldn't imagine doing it on larger sections of my body.

@michellemybell Smooth legs feel great, right?. I've been shaving my body regularly for years. No one notices or pays any mind.  I really think many of our insecurities regarding dressing are mostly in our own heads sometimes.  When I started exclusively wearing women's sandals in the summer, I was very anxious in the beginning.  Once again no one hardly notices what I'm wearing and if someone by chance does its always a woman with a compliment. No winks or nods either just a simple compliment.

It's fascinating that body hair, or absence of it, can evoke such a range of emotions and sensations.

Reading the many responses, the attitude of our SO's appears to vary between "don't you ever dare do that" to full acceptance. Our personal attitudes vary between "being smooth is so obvious if I am not fully covered. and people will mock me", to "it's my body, I don't care what people think". And, of course, there is the sensation of a body free of hair: the clean smooth feel, the pleasure of clothes that glide over the body, and the unadulterated tone of the skin that blends with or accentuates our choice of clothes for that day. Don't we all just love those feelings 😀 .

So, Michelle, I can understand your euphoria - long may it continue ... and keep shins intact if future!

In my case I almost feel embarrassed to say how easy it has been for me. My hair is very fair and I have never had a lot of body hair, but about 15 years ago my wife did comment about a few straggling hairs poking through my shirt and tried to remove them with one of her waxing strips. That was not very successful, so her next step was to point me in the direction of a recently opened male grooming salon with instructions to get a full body wax. Strangely I didn't protest about this. Thus was born a regular waxing routine, apart from using depilatory cream during the Covid years. I now only need to wax every 2 or 3 months, and the hair that does grow is very very fair, fine and sparse. I think I am very lucky.

Hugs, Rebecca

Hey Michelle and Ellie,  I've been naturally hairless for most of my life and the worst that happened to me was just a few odd looks or being called a little boy in community showers when I was 25 years old.  It seems to work out ok in my life since I live primarily as a woman. I do have to moisturize my legs regularly to prevent excessive chafing and I easily sunburn.  Enjoy the smooth!  Marg

Your body, your rules! If you want to shave your legs, you should definitely do it. Don't let it be banned under any circumstances.
I struggle with hair (thanks to my age) where it doesn't belong. Nose, ears, eyebrows - really annoying

So age has its merits and possibly this was an unexpected gift from your wife, intended or otherwise. The odd thing was she tore you off a strip once for doing it and you reciprocated this time. Here's to the enjoyment of smooth legs...

How lovely for you Michelle 🙂

I've never been very hairy, I had a bit of 'leg fluff' and some hair on my chest. I even have no '5 o-clock' shadow, just a slight sandpaper effect on my skin if I don't shave. My father wasn't very hairy, so I seemed to have inherited that trait from him; also my complexion and skin-tone is very similar to my mother's.

I shaved off my leg fluff about five years ago, the SO didn't notice or comment on it. So after that I did my fore-arms, upper chest and underarms as well. I leave some hair on my chest but this is covered up by my bra, so not visible.   I do my depilation routine once a week.

i have kept my legs shaved for the past 5 years or so. I live in southeast Texas and wear shorts all summer. I make trips to the grocery store, hardware store, and other places. I never had anybody comment on it. I never really thought about what I would say if someone did. I just know that the older I get the less I care what other people think…. If only I would have had this attitude when I was younger.

I went back to depilating more this year for Keystone. Mainly using hair removal cream (for both men and women) and shaving some small areas where traces remained after applying the cream. I have the advantage that my hair is fine and takes time to grow, except for my beard. It also grows more in the belly, but thin. I also use moisturizing body cream that helps me maintain the feeling of smoothness in my chest, arms and legs. I also frequently use airbrush makeup on my legs, which leaves them smooth and presentable, which allows me to limit the use of stockings to really special occasions. I have a habit of caressing my legs when I'm lying on the bed, reading or using the tablet and I love feeling them smooth.

I can tell I have never receive any comments about my hairless areas. That was a big concern for years. Now I think it is nobody's business. Smile

Having had bald legs for years I can understand that. I only had it commented on once when my sister in law mentioned it & when I told her that it just doesn't grow there she was jealous as all hell. I'm just lucky I didn't get the hairy gene so I can appreciate the joy smooth legs bring to you.

About three years ago I told my "DADT Boss", I was gunna shave my arms and legs "cos I can". This was after she said hair poking out of the top of my polo shirts did not look good.

Simple!!, I'll shave the lot!! So I did but over the last week or two I've got out of "shaving sync", legs are OK, but my arms "UGH!!

So tomorrow I'm going to my "bolthole" storage unit with light and power and there's gunna be a LOT of hair in the water container I use for my shaving soap and hair residue.

Plus my razor trimmer will be used for around my "down there " area and I also have not done a back shave in ages Got the "equipment" for that too.

Same thing happened with "the Boss" with winter tights.  I have osteo arthritis in knees and feet, 40/ 60 denier tights in winter  daytime and panty hose in bed at night keeps the pain away, so...

Happy dressing and "de hairing"

Caty.

Hang in there Michelle! You may find as you grow older the hair on your legs, chest, forearms and armpits may diminish and if you are REALLY lucky will disappear completely like mine did. Not sure what the medical reason is for this, but I never have to shave those areas at all anymore.Might be one of the few advantages of advancing age, but it's a good one!

Michelle -

How wonderful for you to have your wife say that. My wife isn't quite there yet. I can shave my legs fully in the winter and wear color on my toes as everything is covered when I go out. During shorts and sandal season I get clear on my toes and shave my upper thighs (along with everything else from the neck down with the exception of my arms). I don't have any hair on my back and my chest and belly hair is minimal. It's kind of funny I had to have abdominal surgery a couple years ago and they shaved my belly for it and I've kept it smooth since. My leg hair grows back dark but is getting thinner each year. Like others I love the feel of stockings and pantyhose on shaved legs.

XOXO

It's nice that you get to experience that wonderful feeling at least some of the year.  I have not yet had the opportunity to wear stockings or pantyhose on my smooth legs but it is something I am looking forward too.
