Just my mind wandering and analysing , what was one incident that sticks in your cross dressing mind as influencing your style or attitude ?
As an example . When I was in the forces I had a relationship with a female colleague . The very first time she undressed in front of me off came her drab daily uniform to show her pristine white bikini briefs , white lacey bra and regulation colour hold up stockings . Basic stuff but carried off so well .
On a night out they swapped to fishnets but that's another example .
Of course that set my standard at the time 😉
Interesting question. For me it was my first professional makeover 20 months ago. I always thought I would look like a clown in makeup but when looked it the mirror after having makeup and a wig professionally applied I saw my real femme self for the first time and it was a transformative experience for me. I don't get a lot of opportunities to bring Michelle to life but I so look forward to them. That makeover created a strong desire to get good at makeup (very limited practice time makes that challenging) and I would love to be able to go out dressed but that is not possible for me at this time. Two years ago I didn't feel looking in the mirror and seeing my feminine self was even possible.
Not an easy questions since I have evolved very much over the years. I guess one big thing was getting up the nerve to go out among people as my authentic self. This allowed my to have some amazing experiences which I thought I would never have.
I agree with Michelle. The first makeover is a defining moment for so many of us. For me a defining moment in my style and attitude was the first time I dyed my hair. It was when I was coming into my own as a teenager. I had shoulder length hair and was getting into punk rock. So for a concert I died my hair red. Much like the pattern I have in my pics. It made me aware that I can express myself in different ways than "normal" society. And that is what inspired me to wear my first outfit, which is the purple skirt pic in my photos. Great question Kay.
I think my style was influenced by my late wife, I didn't start dressing until I was in my 50s and she liked us to dress similarly, which meant matching jeans & tee shirts mostly (she was a Texan & jeans & tee shirts are like a uniform LOL). I began dressing properly, after she passed, most days will see me in jeans or leggings & tee or other top. It's a high day when I put a dress or skirt on, but I love them too.
I have related a few times here about Vicky. She was a very accepting shoe sales clerk at Nordstrom. She spent extra time with me, and encouraged and advised me. I bought as many shoes there as I could afford because they had some in wide sizes.
