I don’t wear jewellery very often, but I have a small selection of costume jewellery to wear with my best dress, but I was missing a ring. My main problem is that cheap costume jewellery rings don’t fit my big fingers and the designs I can get in my local supermarkets are not to my taste.
After my mother passed away some years back my sister had her rings. When my sister passed away last year, her husband sent them to me; I sold the gold rings but the jeweller didn’t want one of them as it was a gold plated copper one with a small inset design of white metal. I decided to hold on to it for a keepsake.
I came across the ring a couple of days ago, it seemed a shame that it sat in a box and was not worn. My SO did not want it. It was too small to get on my fingers so I cut the ring band and opened it up, reshaped it and filed the cut edges smooth - I can now wear it (although there is a gap of 0.5cm on the inside).
I’m going to wear the ring every time I am en femme…. it’ll bring back so many happy, loving and fond memories of my mother.
If you wear a ring ( or rings ) what sort of design do you like and where do you buy them from ?
I had a bit of good karma occur. I was out grocery shopping and as is my usual habit when finished, I headed for fast food on the way home. I wanted Mexican so I headed for Taco Bell but the drive thru line was wrapped completely around the building. Alternate choice, Chipotle. Better food and similar price. Pulled into the parking lot but had to park around the corner, oh well they're fast so it should be alright. Stepped out of the car and saw a gold glint on the ground. It was a beautiful gold ring with two dark purple stones. I picked it up, it was undamaged, there was no one around to ask about it. It was stamped on the inside with 20k. Wow. It looked like a good size so I tried it on. It fit perfectly on my left ring finger. The spirits had led me to find this ring. The two stones represent my two spirits. I don't know what the color significance is but it is lovely. I have not taken it off since that day.

Jewelry isn't my thing either. I will and do buy simple elegant pieces for my wife. The only piece that I wear myself is my wedding ring, simple band of tungsten carbide with a gold inlay.

Hi Alicen
I have a lovely collection of rings - some very nice and very expensive ones and some not so expensive. My favorite two rings are: a sluice box ring - very good quality gold band filled all the way around with gold nuggets from Yukon (which I purchased in Whitehorse, Yukon over 40 years ago) and the second, a white gold ring similar to a sluice box ring but instead of nuggets it is filled with small diamonds which I've had for just under 40 years. When I get glammed up almost all my fingers have rings on them. As well as rings, I also have an assortment of bracelets, necklaces and of course earrings. I think my wife only has one piece of jewelry (not even a diamond engagement ring which I offered to buy her but she doesn't like wearing jewelry). I had a very feminine necklace and my granddaughter saw me wearing it and said that she loved it, so I gave it to her. But I'm still wearing two other necklaces (both are delicate in style but not quite as feminine as the other one). That I wear two delicate necklaces at the same time does make it girly and my wife hasn't said anything about it. Have a lovely weekend, Hugs, Krista.
As Bridgette I wear an engagement set my wife bought me, and some few rings from the family that fit
