It finally stopped raining and I got out for an evening stroll. The hotel I'm staying in is connected to a shopping center with various restaurants and high end stores. I strolled around and window shopped, took a few selfies by the dress shop and fountain (photos will be uploaded to public photos), and walked right by diners eating outside. Nobody batted an eyelash.
When I entered the hotel, the clerk had gone in the back for a moment so I avoided her. But, another car pulled up just as I approached the door and a man followed me in to the lobby. I heard him talking with the clerk as I waited for the elevator on the other side of the lobby, and it was business as usual. So, either I looked passable from a distance or they just didn't care. Either way, I held my head up with more confidence this time. I've discovered the best way to look feminine is simply to smile. Women smile a lot more than men do.

I think you're right on both counts. If they are busy, they aren't going to be scrutinizing you to see if you are a woman or a man dressed as a woman. So if they see a woman, they accept you are a woman and move on with their own business.
But you're also right in that they don't care. You aren't doing anything illegal, you aren't creating a disturbance, you're not creating any undue attention. So even if they know you are a man dressed as a woman, they really don't care.
Relax and enjoy your time out.

You should see me tonight. I'm prancing around the hotel like it's my private palace. Had a few too many and left the room without thinking about the fact that I've never walked more than 10 feet in these heels and that I'm about 6'3 in them. Definitely caught a couple of eyes tonight. 🤣🤣🤣

Sometimes, I like being just far enough left of center that I'm more "visible" and heels are my favorite way to do that. My most extreme are a pair of 6" stilettos with a 1" platform. Another standout is a pair of though high boots with a 5" stilletto heel. One tends to stand head and shoulders above, let's just say "average", shall we?
