@erinb I was trained as a band director and now retired after teaching for only 15 years.  Prior to teaching I worked in business and it was my hobby.  Nowadays I work on my house and outbuildings, looking for things I could upgrade and improve the values.  Jacked up an outbuilding 2 years ago to give it a new foundation, added drywall the the detached garage.  Modified/updated the HVAC system in my house.  Rehabbed the plumbing drainage system to replace cast iron sewer pipe with PVC.  Cleaned up the cobbled mess of electrical wiring in the garage and added 220V for an EV simply because it might increase the value of the place.

I also very much love to travel throughout the Dakotas, Montana, & Wyoming.  I picked up a Sienna and made it very much ready for long trips.  Obtained a life pass to National Parks and I'm ready now to do some exploring.

@erinb Knowing how to do those tasks, and having the ambition to do them must come from my childhood.  "No choice.  It's got to be done," I say to myself.  Just like as a 5th grader our house had a bad septic system, but my father stood there, pointed, and told me, "You're going to take that toilet out to the back yard and clean it all out."  No help.  No instruction.  That abusive guy, you did what you were told.  "It's got to be done.. no choice."  But today my projects make the place more valuable, like making money if I sell.    I bought an 8x10 WWII wall tent off my first boss in 1979, had the corners repaired and its good as new.  After all these rears I still have it.   I want to set up somewhere for a few days.  That's my new adventure goal.

@danikiss22 as a musician, we have similars tastes , it would be good have a meeting in one of the events of crossdressing if we assist them and play some instrumental pieces with my traverse flute and one piano would be awesome!!!

Also I like to make inventions, I have my own  power supply with a some battery banks and inverters ve electricity when blackouts happen.

@erinb Erin, this is a great topic you bring up.  I get the point about being able to dress while doing other hobbies.  My interests outside of science, which is the hobby that brings in the money so I can buy dresses and heels and lingerie, I draw and read, both of which I do whilst dress.  I read a very wide variety of books…history, politics, art, religion, psychology but also lots of fiction. I also love exercising and as I have a home gym, that too can be done while dressed in tight gym skirts and bras.  I love visiting musea and art galleries, but sadly I am only underdressed for these trips.  In my younger days I was quite sporty, playing a range of team and individual sports, but only the table tennis remains, sadly no longer competitively,  and since I use a table tennis robot (at home) that too can be done dressed in female sports clothing.

As old age creeps up, I find it increasingly pleasant to sit in cafes, sipping coffee, nibbling a french croissant, reading a book and watching the world go by….roll-on retirement, so I can do more of this!

Hugs Christine

@erinb Hi my dear

I would say that besides the crossdressing, I enjoy a lot play music!!!

I'm a musician , I started very early at the age of 12 years, first with the harmonica , later with the flute, guitar and electronic keyboard.

Basically I can play any instrument I use, I think is like my super power, I am a fast learning in almost all the fields.

Reading it another of my passions.

I started at very early maybe 6 years old, but once I started , never stopped me, I love the maths books, as well as the science, astronomy, Physics, Quantum Mechanics, And science fiction, Isaac Asimov was my favorites, after that I liked the stories of Jean Pierre Andrepov, Jules Verne, Alexander Dumas, Rabelais, Dante Alighieri, Voltaire to etc.

Also I love learn new languages, actually I'm learning mandarin, Urdu and French. Later will follow with German and Russian.

In sports I like volleyball, I am an average player and love playing at the beach.

  • Chess is another sport I like and when I have the chance I play with my ex college classmates.
  • Numismatic I have started many times, collects coins and currencies of all cover the world but always something's happen and I lose all.

Finally I love ,love the puzzles!!

My first Rubik cube I got at the age of 12, and in one year I have figure out my own method to assemble it. My record never was close to the world records but I feel happy to know that I have my own way to crack the 3x3 Rubik cube in 45 seconds.

Kisses to all

Odeth

@lujan2099 Hi Odeth!

I gave the rubik's cube to my dad for a Christmas present. I had to wait until he gave up on it before I could use it. I think it took me close to 18 months to figure it out. I think I was 14

Hugs,

Autumn

@augustvaliant

Hey !!!

That sounds me like we are sisters with same skills, for me that times were more exciting and valuables, in that time we didn't have internet or cellphones, less computer!!!

Now there are a huge quantity of information to how to assemble not just the 3x3, also the rest of the family puzzles, the piramix, 4x4, 5x5, etc.

But for me it is more like a 1rst prize Winner create or figured out our own way to assemble it instead of read a step by step Friedrich method manual.

Kisses and hugs

@erinb Hi Erin

  • As far as I know there are a step by step even in YouTube, sadly it is threat, many of the step by step Always forget that there are at least 16 variants for assemble it and the steps change for each case.
  • Mine method only has 4 variants and take maybe 30 seconds or less to assemble it, I cannot reduce my time by a lack of my handling, I have a speed cube a Dayan brand for competition, but my hands are not faster enough, probably the limit in my method could be 15-20 seconds, maybe 10 in hands of a skilled master Rubik assembler.

@erinb I do just for fun, I haven't have competition but locally the records are from 12 seconds!!!

Muy own records is 48 seconds, I haven't got reduce it and I think it is my limit in my handling, perhaps I could reduce a little , but not so much as 12 seconds!!! Gosh!!!! these records are made it by teenagers , they have been practicing many years on that and they have the youth at their side!!!

@lujan2099 I gave my dad the Pyraminx later. He was happy he could do that one. I did pryraminx, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, and the 12 sided one. The 12 sided one was only a few years ago. The funny thing is the one I can't do is a 3x3 cube with photographs on it. It always works out that when it is solved there are always 2 sides where the center of the photo isn't lined up right.

@augustvaliant I have seen that problem before....I had once a Rubik with images, and with my method is not as complicated, because that is the first step for starting, align the centers, ones I have the centers, I start to make the whole corners at the same time!!! it took me a little while figure it out but once you have all centers and corners , the rest is pretty easy !!!

Same with me on the Ironman events, although calling it “compete” is probably pushing it a bit for me. I’m happy just to finish without a trip to the medical tent 🙂

@erinb Such an interesting question and fascinating to read everyone's interests outside of dressing. following a long career in commercial design (Product, Interiors, Architecture) I continue to design my own furniture, do a lot of renovation projects and landscape/gardening. My main focus at the moment is making art (which has always been a passion), learning how to sew and make something unique. And vintage/thrift shopping for clothes and accessories ( a new passion!)

I have a lot of interests and irons in the fire.

First wheels, Trucks allsizes, cars preferably old trains and planes.

Like the old saying. If God wanted man to fly. He would have given him lots of money 💰 and understanding wives!

I'm currently working on my Funmover super C camper. It has a 10' garage in back with a power lift gate and roll up door. I'm remodeling it. I  call The Hen House.

I also have a '68 Camaro bracket car that I have drag raced.

Also on the list is a couple of motorcycles and a 3 wheeler named T-Rex.

I'm a  retired aircraft structural repair mechanic. I hold a private pilot license. But haven't flown in many years. Would love to fly enfem!

Years ago a woman named Shirley Sahann. Went by the name Dragon Lady. Drag raced wearing gogo boots and a mini skirt. All while shifting a 4 speed manual transmission. What a gal!

There making a comeback. There's a '55 Ford called Scarelane on u tube. That's bad A** complete with a  older hottie backup girl.

Every June around Father's day at Bowling Green Kentucky. There's a 3 day nostalgia race with old dragster's, funny cars, passers and pro stock races. Plus a Saturday night cackle fest! Car show and swap meet. It's held at Beach bend raceway.

Hot Rods,

 Don't like idling in traffic.

I was a long hauler in the 2021 Hot Rod Power Tour. About 3,500 sorted cars and trucks. A regular rolling car show. A definite bucket list item! 🥰

@erinb I had a 4 core, electric fans, it just didn’t like sitting still in that kind of heat. I had a 69 Deville that I put in a bored and stroked 500 Eldarado. Had a local speed shop make a dual qual intake that sat under the hood, headers. Was running high 12’s low 13’s in a 1 removed link

I had a chance to buy a '55 Belair when I was 15. It was set up as a gasser with straight front axle, fiberglass tilt front end. Painted in Dodge color Plum Crazy. Three hundred dollars. My dad wouldn't let me get it because it was a roller. He said it doesn't have an engine.

I've got my complex time in a T-34 Mentor. I had belonged to and worked on our local Air Force bases aeroclub. It was an A model serial number 08 1952 1-6 were dismantled by the manufacturer Beechcraft. Nobody knew the whereabouts of number 7.

One of the Dumb A** club managers traded it for a twin engine. Last known residents of number 8 was Hanscom, AFB .

Wow, those were the days!

When I was a kid I lived in New Jersey and frequented Atco and English Town.

Both are sadly gone now. Used for storing salvage cars. Yuck 🤮

The Atlanta dragway  which held the Southern Nationals for 40 years is now filled with condos and other housing for an electric car battery manufacturer. Yuck again!

Save the strips!

At Gators we are in TEC Top Eliminator Club. It's a 4 day ticket package. Stands angled on the pit side starting line with seat backs. Jumbo screen across from us.

Our on bathrooms, enclosed area for eating. Catered meals on Saturday and Sunday. Drinks too. 2 Coke or 2 beers per day. A TEC exclusive event  hat. Event pin event program book. Our own parking area and a  mini Nitro Mall. Not cheap but when you figure the price of eating and drinking and seating. It works out. So 450. Dollars isn't so bad! It's like a mini vacation with sound! Lol 🥰

A year or so ago. My friend Rus and I went for a ride in his '55 Belair sport. Powered by  a '57 392 Chyrsler Hemi. Burning regular fuel. 2X4 Barrel carburetors. On a deserted country road we stopped and he opened the exhaust cutouts. Stomped the gas and off we went! I felt like a teenager again! Shades of the old days! 🥰

Speaking of a T- bucket. Probably 30 years ago give or take. I was offered a deal on a small block Chevy T- bucket, open trailer and a late '70's Suburban for 10K.

The one I really kick my butt over is about 10 years before that. A red with a black convertible top and interior. '68 Shelby GT 500 KR 428 2X4's automatic. 10K.

Just a money poor dude back then. Heck a Detomaso Pantera was 10K, new in the early '70's  🥰

Your so right there girl.

I wish I could find my first car. It was a '70 Boss 302 Mustang. Medium Metalic blue one of 400 that color. 4:30 Detroit locker rear gear. Drag pac. Came with an engine oil cooler. Shaker hood, magnum 500 wheels, close ratio 4 speed with a factory installed Hurst T handle shifter and a folding rear seat. I offen wonder what happened, to it. 🥰

I knew anything guy who owned a 440 powered Superbird. And another who had a Daytona with a dealer installed 6 pack on his 440.

I once passed a used car lot in Nashville Tennessee. There must have been a dozen winged cars on that lot. This was in the later '70's. It was late at night when I spotted them. Sadly I never went back to check them out during the day! 🥰

A 1963 movie staring Steve McQueen and Jackie Gleason called Solider in the rain. Has a scene where Steve's character is eyeing a Cobra in a parking lot. An officer gets in it and fires it up. Sounded sooo good! I would have loved to play that part for free! 🥰

It's amazing how great talented people can attract other great talented people!

My second grade teacher's son had a '67 Shelly GT 500.

In '68 I set in the driver's seat of a dark green GT 500 at a local Ford dealership.

It didn't take long for a nervous salesman to ask me and my younger cousin to get out of the car! Nervous Nelly! Lol 🥰

Some years back a couple of my friends got to ride in a Chrysler Turbine Car!

I wish I could have joined them!

The car is owned by a retired Chrysler engineer who worked on the Turbine project. He knew which parts were missing, and made the nessary parts to get it running again. 🥰

My main hobbies are making music and writing stories, which I then post to my website for anyone to check out. These hobbies lead me to finding new music to listen to or new stories to watch/read. Sometimes I get the urge to do art. I've shown some sculptures at art shows. Nothing fine, just outsider stuff. Sometimes I DJ, which in my case is just playing music, but I might try taking up record scratching. I also like to examine electric circuits but I don't do nearly enough of that. And every now and then I mess around with some code. This just goes to show that there's more to us than just some pretty frocks.

My main interests include outdoor activities and travel in North America and Europe. Having spent my entire youth on a farm, I am very appreciated of nature and enjoy exploring it. I derive satisfaction through creating with my hands and have always been involved in two of my favourite activities, cabinet and furniture making and gardening. My most complex project was an entire kitchen made out of solid wood cherry.

I too like outdoor activities but rarely hunt lately so it's mostly fishing along with watching sports with friends.  Cooking gatherings in or out along with festivals is a large part of this region so that keeps me entertained.

@kdmon i used to do astrophotography, but haven't in years.  I even have an observatory so all I have to do is open it up and get to viewing. I need to clean it up and get back in to it. Problem is, I'm old and bedtime comes earlier these days.

@astrosteve Haha I get it. I haven't done it in a few years because I moved to a place with too much light at night. I moved again and it might be possible from here. I an so jealous about the observatory!

My two most prominent activities are Boating and Traveling. I most often do them both while dressed. Or in my swim suit.

@robertaf lovely way to spend time and enjoy it, travelling it is one of my favorites things to do , but requires money!!!

So the only time to travel is when I have to work overseas, visiting Dominican Republic , Panama, El Salvador, Mexico and Honduras.

Lately my hobbies are reading, playing my guitar (I started taking lessons about 3 years ago  (I am not very good and only play for the pleasure of my wife and myself), doing diamond dot art (it's like paint by number but with little plastic dots). I also enjoy fishing - haven't gone for quite some time, I need to dust off my equipment and go. I've also dabbled playing golf which I also need to dust off the clubs and get out to do. I also cook and bake, it is fun trying new recipes. For that hobby I need to get one of those frilly bib aprons like Grandma used to wear. I haven't yet but think it would be fun to do some baking and cooking while dressed. Maybe this years Christmas cookies.

XOXO
Suzanne

Great topic, Erin.  I have a bunch of hobbies that I no longer can do as I get older.  I used to do all kinds of home improvement that included woodworking, wood refinishing as well as home repairs, but now I just pay someone to do those for me.  I also used to race sailboats competitively for many years, but that’s in the past since that’s a more expensive hobby that usually requires more than one person.  My latest interest is classic cars and cars in general.  I attend shows with my cars as often as I can.  Fortunately I can still do the cleaning on them, which is very rewarding.  I still think that my most favorite hoppy is crossdressing though and I’m not going to even think about giving that up, you are never too old to wear 4” heels!

Erin, I used to play loads of sports. Mainly football (soccer), rugby union, cricket and golf. Now at my age only the golf remains. I also like to cook. I often say, rather cruelly, that my wife has no interest in cooking, and I have no interest in eating anything she cooks 😂. But by far my greatest love is music. I've played in bands all my life and am currently playing keys with three local bands. My main one has been together for 27 years and we can pull a big crowd locally. We also travel all over the UK playing weddings and the like. Once went to the West coast of Ireland, and nearly the south of Italy, but the logistics didn't work out.

Sadly none of these activities have been done en femme 😢.

Hugs, Chrissie xx.

@erinb Erin, a number of girls here have played golf en femme. I must admit those short ladies golf skirts (skorts?) are very sexy. Of course I'm by no means ready for that. A lot of the ladies here are musical, and there was a lot of (fantasy) talk of forming a crossdresser band. Performing live is basically the highlight of my life now, but the thought of showing up to a gig dressed as a beautiful woman just cracks me up. I am literally the last person any of my family or friends would expect to be a secret girl, so Chrissie will have to remain private for now 😢.

Hugs, Chrissie xx.

@chrisfp99 I have a question for a girl in a band in the UK Chrissie…(or guy since you haven’t played in Chrissie mode).

Here in the US there’s tons of “oldies playing oldies” bands all around. Especially when you retire you become very aware of them. Another thing I like to crossdressing. They’re old guys still rocking and we’re old guys still rocking the dresses…(at least WE think we are.)

My issue with these bands here in the states is this: They all seem to have the same playlist. When I was on the West Coast and now on the East Coast. Go to one of these “gigs” and you will always hear: Mustang Sally. Brown Eyed Girl. Mony Mony. You Really Got Me. The Twist. Pretty Woman…etc, etc, blah, blah, BLAH. Same with the deejays too…same songs over and over!

Hopefully your bands play a decent mix of tunes at events. I know I’m generalizing here a bit - but there sure is a sameness in the music of what bands and deejays at social events think we want to hear.

If I never hear “Old Time Rock & Roll” ever again, it’ll be TOO SOON. (That’s truly one of the most horrible songs ever written IMHO). Ditto Bohemian Rhapsody and…for crying out loud, “Sweet Caroline”…with the audience participation thrown in: Bah, bah, bah! Bah is right, and throw some humbug on top of it!

Nothing gets my pantyhose in a twist like the “Playlist for Oldies” that I hear over and over til my ears bleed at every social event I attend since retirement. It’s enough to keep a girl home on the weekends playing dress up!

So, Chrissie, what’s on your playlist?🥰

@gracepal

I'm in my seventies now and by all accounts, I'm supposed to like rock 'n' roll, The Beatles and Motown: I don't.

I like classical music (always have) and still listen to heavy metal and prog rock. I do like to go and see a good opera now too, although that is a more recent thing, as is ballet.

When I was in a band, playing tenor sax and blues harp, quite a few years ago now, the lead singer refused to do any covers and we only did original music. This was good in some ways but it would have been nice to throw a few popular covers in there.

Still, in the end, we had over two and half hours of original music consisting of 25 - 30 songs.

There isn't much of the music left on the internet as the band broke up after about four years citing 'creative differences', isn't that always the way?

There's a couple left, plus some of my own stuff. If you are at all interested, you can find it on Soundcloud and search for Martin Baxter Liskeard. Look for the picture of the collie dog holding a yellow ring in his mouth. The track Tassology was played on BBC Radio; it's my only claim to fame.
