What do you wear when getting a pedicure at a salon?
.
a dress, usually, at least knee-length. Sandals, without pantyhose of course.
I’ve worn either shorts or a short skort. Never a skirt or a dress…
Unfortunately I never go out dressed but when my wife and I go for mani-pedi's I'll wear shorts or sweatpants, sometimes jeans. During warmer weather sandals in the colder months a pair of ankle socks and slip ons. Would love to be able to wear a skort but not in the cards right now. Hopefully in the future.
XOXO

I’ve had many pedicures over the years and while I haven’t gone in full femme mode I normally wear something femme while still presenting as a man. I will wear yoga pants , makeup and a touch of perfume.
Ill wear shorts or a skort. If you wear a skirt or skort the attendant will always provide you a towel to extend your hem and add some modesty to your bottom. Since your feet are kind of up in the air.
As I often state on CDH, I'm a VERY "mature" member. What's left of my toenails look like a natural disaster site. I also have "Grand Central Station train lines" for fingernails, so any form of polish etc does does not work for me.
Caty.
At nearly 59 now, I have noticed that my nails are no longer as smooth and supple as they used to be; however, as they still have the potential to look good when attended to professionally, I am getting pedicures regularly - especially as it's also becoming harder to flex and bend while doing my own feet (which used to be the case until 2 or 3 years ago)!
I have just come back from the salon where I had a relaxing hour long full pedicure. She also buffed my toenails to a lovely sheen and I am happily wearing flip flops at home now so that I can admire my feet.
I wore a just-below-the-knee skirt and it was not a problem as even with one leg raised and resting on the therapist's thigh as she worked, I'd either let the opposing knee fall inward to close the crotch area or otherwise use one hand to gently push some skirt fabric down between the thighs.
If she caught sight of my panty at all, she didn't mind as she gave no indication whatsoever.
Before going to the salon, I quite consciously put on a rust-coloured full brief nylon panty with modest lace insets. Enough to feel womanly while retaining decency should anyone catch a peek.
Hugs,
Katherine
I have never gone in full femme mode either (and for many years I have been a regular customer and have enjoyed a wide range of treatments), although I have hardly ever attended a beauty treatment without at least one feminine item, whether a panty or camisole.
Strangely enough, at least in my experience, the therapist knowing that you're "alternative" in some way seems to put them at ease as they take you out of the "toxic masculine" box and think of you more as "one of us girls".
It's amazing how they open up and spontaneously engage you in sometimes very girly talk.
Love,
Katherine
I considered this option, but as I am not yet at the full-scale out in public as a woman level, I took a skirt with me which I slipped on in the treatment room before taking off my male trousers.
Love,
Katherine
During the warm months I always wear shorts I love the looks and comments I get from the nail techs about my hairless, smooth tanned feminine leg’s. I’m planning on doing it dressed soon I will probably wear a running skirt with a matching top.
I love manicures and pedicures.I dress in male mode(shorts and Sun shirt)but always with panties, bra and cami.My shaved legs give me away.
Leggings or shorts and flip-flops. For me, I have found that flip-flops are most likely not to cause damage to a fresh pedicure. A few years ago I wore a skirt, and the nail tech placed a towel over my legs for modesty. Once or twice during the pedi I had to keep it in place from slipping off, which was a good reminder for me to wear shorts or leggings in the future to my pedicure sessions. I always go crossdressed. It puts me in the right mood, especially at my regular nail salon where the decor is hyper-feminine. I think it helps too in putting the other female customers at ease, as well as staff.
I have only had one pedicure. This was post surgery, and I was concerned about bending and reaching my toes. I didn't do it because of wanting to feel feminine, it was done out of necessity. It was warm, and I wore shorts and sandals.
I have no desire for polish on my toes, not even clear polish. So what I wear on my feet is irrelevant. I don't have to worry about socks messing up any polish.
I may go again in winter months when my feet tend to get scaly with dried skin and callouses. I've tried using a Ped-Egg to clean them myself but with limited success. I also have trouble reaching my toes, and with hard nails it is sometimes difficult to get a smooth cut (no points or burrs) on my toes. But I'm not planning regular appointments; I'll keep it to as-needed.
