I stopped off at a gas station to get my usual drink and snacks before work. A employee said "Hey you missed it,your boss was in here and a thing was behind him." I said "A thing whats a thing?" she precedes to say the following "You know the freaks that likes to dress as a woman. It was one of those weirdos." Fire came to my eyes I felt manager mode building up inside.( little side note I work retail all my life I have great customer service skill. That skill led me to management int a few high end stores.) I said "You mean a crossdresser? Thats the term and if you dont know to say say miss m'am or have a good day works also. They are not freaks, weirdos,it, and they are defiantly not not things." At this point I laid don my money and left. About 30 min later the gas station manage showed up where I work and asked what happened he over heard me chewing out his cashier. When I explained what happened he was not happy and said he would handle it I never seen that cashier again.

Well done Brandie, another little push against ignorance and intolerance. Hopefully you have taught the (former) employee a lesson and he won’t make that mistake again.

That was beautifully handled Brandie.  A blunt slap down done right.  Though not really surprising, it's still damn depressing to hear this amount of ignorance.   Glad (hope) she lost her job.

......idiots.

I think I probably would have just smiled and left.

Hi Brandie.  Understand your anger at the ignorance of the clerk!  I might have felt more hurt at the clerks comments.  Maybe another way to go about it would be to tell her that the CD has probably found her true self.

I know my thoughts on some of this run contrary to some of my fellow CDs.  MY feeling is that we should try to educate others rather than to ram our chosen lifestyle down their throats.  I don't want to set up battle line between us. I want to lovingly, careingly get along with those who are opposed to us, to help them understand us (so difficult since I don't fully understand all this myself).

With love for all,   Sandy

What I've noticed in life is those people that make the loudest noise have the most to hide.   Sounds like the cashier was let go, good riddance.

Well deserved,  no body should have the right to such slanderous remarks.  Ignorance always shows its ugly head to the simple mined. 🌷

I'm sorry you had that experience, Brandie.  Unfortunately this is why we (still) have to be so careful out there.

I live in the SF Bay Area and I think people automatically assume everything and anything goes here.  Well it doesn't.  We still have those "weirdos" (I shouldn't stoop to their level), who think anyone who does not think, feel or dress like they do must have something wrong with them.

It is just the opposite!

We are the ones that are normal, that have the most to offer, that can be a "man" if called for but best of all, can be a damn good Woman too!

Love and hugs,

Rebekka

Well done for standing up for all of us. People who talk like that are the reason why a lot of us stay in the closet for so long, or forever. Tolerance is being preached in so many areas of society today that hearing comments like this is disturbing.

Well done Brandie for speaking up. We are never going to get equality or the social freedom we deserve when the  ignorance of bigots like that are allowed to spout their vile thoughts. Nice to see the company has acted, but sad to read that this kind of persistent abuse is still happening.

Brandie...you are a star, well done...each time a narrow minded ignorant bigot takes a fall, it's fine by me.

Huggs honey xx
