This UK news item cracked me up,
It's a big voting day in the UK today - what we call local election (Wales is a bit different).But the BBC is reporting that voters are being asked to take their own sterile pencil with them to mark their votes.
Obviously the reason is ... covid transmission.
And we arrogant humans get laid low again. Just when I get a handle on 'it's a crazy world we live in', it delivers another slice.

I indeed used a sterile writing implement to cast my vote which I knew was covid free.
A nice fresh BIC pen straight from the packet delivered by Amazon the previous week.

Hi All,
I do not know how you all coped with the Covid lockdowns, It sounded so terrible.
We only had 1 day of lock down here and that was enough for me.
My family in The UK has had a horrible time.
It has changed all our lives and does seem to be going on forever.

I've now been down to vote and noticed theory and practice haven't quite meshed in my neck of the woods. On each voting 'booth' was a trusty little pencil - 2B I'd say - tied by a bit of string so people wouldn't nick it !

Sadly, I don’t know how many children I have across the globe... always had a less than ‘sterile’ pencil! However, the lead had dropped out and my propulsion is now reliant on the Jet Propulsion Laboratory inventing other means...
But... ‘Lick ones own pencil’? Sounds like a contorsionniste act!
