My first meet-up with another CD finally came last weekend, when I returned to the scene of my big day out in March, to meet the lovely Angela @stockingtimeagain from this parish.  Having not quite arrived in the same place, it took a little while to work out that we were only parked around the corner from each other, and to relocate to the best parking option.  I have to say it's strange hugging another woman: I noticed with the OH's daughter too, you can't get as close as you normally would aim to because there are just too many boobs in the way 😀

Cars securely parked, off we set, arm in arm, to hit the shops! My shopping list for the day included a perfume I've been meaning to treat myself to ever since I had some samples from that first makeover in March - 'Alien' by Mugler.  So in we went to that same Boots store.  The assistant who unlocked the display to get the bottle out, and the lady at the till were both most accepting of the two 'six-foot sisters', and chatted away happily with us, most encouraging of us going out and enjoying expressing our femme selves.

Next stop was lunch, which ended up being at a Costa.  We chatted happily over coffee, toasties and a shared choccy muffin, finding common musical tastes and swapping tales of our CD experiences.  During lunch I also realised that my blue flat shoes weren't the size that they thought they were 😳.  So the next stop afterwards was also Boots, this time for some heel plasters 🤕

Once patched up, off we went into Marks & Spencer and up to the lingerie department, another previous haunt.  I was looking for another bra of the model I got last time, except in black.  Being three months on, the ranges had all changed of course, but eventually I spotted some of 'my' ones on the sale rack - in all the wrong sizes naturally 🙄.  But we had a lovely chat with a lady in a wheelchair, even better in my case for already kneeling down to look at the lower rail.  She treated us like just another couple of ladies browsing lingerie 🙂  I did manage to find and try on a nice t-shirt dress in the sale on the lower floor, unexpectedly needing a 12 rather than my usual 16 to actually fit under the arms.  I've put a shot of it in my public photos.

We had a look in Phase Eight in passing, if only to frighten ourselves at the prices of the dresses.  Even the sale items were beyond what either of us would have considered!  Lovely styles though.  Angela unfortunately had to leave a little earlier than planned to pick up her wife on her unexpected early return from her own jaunt for the day.  En route back to the car park we had a brief look in Next at some size 14 jeans, which looked promising.  After we hugged goodbye at the pay machine I quickly went back to Next, tried the jeans on and found that they fitted nicely as I'd hoped.  So against my better judgement at that price, they also came home with me 🙂

----------------------------

I wasn't home long!  Just time for a cup of tea, shave again, an outfit change, eyeshadow and some different lipstick, and it was time to go right back to the car park where I'd just been!  I had booked to see 'Everybody's Talking About Jamie', with a pizza in the foyer restaurant beforehand.

I felt a bit brazen walking from the car park to the theatre in broad daylight in a bright red dress, long lace-style cardigan and sparkly wedge sandals (also in my public photos), but I still got no looks that I noticed and heard no comments.  If you know the story of Jamie, you'll appreciate why it had to be that dress 🙂  In the restaurant, although I was quite happy eating alone in my eye-catching outfit, the I felt the waitress was really being lovely, looking after me and she even complimented me on my new glasses 😊

Finally it was time for the show - I had the middle seat of a row of 5, right at the balcony on one end of the first circle!  About the best view in the whole place, and you wouldn't believe how little they'd been selling it for when I spotted it 🙂  The show was amazing, but I won't spoil the story - I'll just say, do go see it if you get the chance while it's touring.  One of the best bits though, was chatting away happily with the lesbian couple next to me before the start and during the interval.  We spotted several other deliberate red dresses (on GG's) and one other man in a dress, which was obviously more of a comedy/dare sort of thing as he was dressed like one of Cinderella's sisters, complete with the stubble.

----------------------------

I got the red dress outfit out again this Saturday night just gone, too.  This time it was to see La Voix at a smaller venue, the same one where I saw the Genesis cover band a few weeks ago.  I wore my new hair out for the first time, which had arrived during the week 🙂  I had wanted to put false nails on too, I have almost the exact shade to match the paint on my toes, but I was running out of time when I couldn't get the backing of the sticky pads to separate, had to abandon the idea, quickly rub the pads off again and just go 😕.

On arrival, in the queue for the foyer bar I quickly got talking to a group of girls from a netball team on a hen night.  They were so positive about my expressing my femininity, especially when I told them I was living as Fiona 🙂  Other people also just started conversations with me, that would never have happened had I gone in drab.  But then again, I most likely never would have even bought the ticket in drab!

Taking my seat, I found myself next to a lovely lady and her friend, both about my age.  Again, they were chatty and ever so supportive of my living and coming out en femme.  My neighbour had beaten cancer a few years ago and was firmly of the opinion that life was too short and precious to do anything other than to be true to oneself, as not doing so would only build regrets for later on.  That's advice that I will take to heart.

The show itself was all glitter and glammed up to the eyeballs, and great fun!  What an outrageous vocal and comedy talent - there were a lot of jokes at the expense of musical and film divas, and also audience members who were picked out by the light of a powerful torch.  The hen night had their turn under the roving beam, and a couple of ladies in the front row, only a few feet in front of me got a lot of attention!  Did I secretly want to be singled out too?  I was certainly enjoying myself openly as a woman in the company of women, and felt I was ready for whatever might happen.  But as it was, I stayed out of the torchlight - just!  The last number has to be the first time I've ever danced in a theatre though, and certainly the first time I've danced in public as Fiona!  As the lights came up at the end, I felt completely liberated.  It really is a different life en femme, so much freer, so much more open to enjoyment 🙂

Hi, Fiona, wow, your new-experience-ometer must be off the clock, or, as we say up here, "fair birlin'".

As ever, it's a real joy to read your uplifting accounts of living your best life. Were Aldous Huxley writing today, he would surely be referring to such as you when penning his seminal tome!

And thanks again for all your help.

@alexina You're so welcome honey, and thank you 🙂  Although I admit I was trying to work out quite where Fiona fitted in a tale of dystopia and the exercise of power through societal conditioning, until I realised I needed to take a (very large) step back metaphorically, and look at the subject named in the title 🙂

Ha ha, I try not to be too obtuse, no point in trying to be so clever nobody can understand it! Where's the fun in that 🙄

@emilyalt This must be the first downside I've encountered about presenting as a woman.  In all seriousness, how frustrating to not be fully able to express your connection to those women closest to you.

Thank you my lovely 🙂  I might be a bit quiet in July, nothing is planned as yet, but certainly at the start of August it's going to hot up again. After that, we'll see 😉

You can still get close Fiona.  Gentle girl hugs.  Light pressure.  NO bear hugs!

Keep doing you!

@emilyalt There so needs to be a better hugging emoji on the site than this one! 🤗

Sorry but you might just have to imagine how good that hug was 🙂

@annaredhead It was a lovely day from start to finish.  I just wish that my nails were easier/quicker to do.  I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and get a gel mani in advance next time 😊

@finallyfiona I am really admiring your progress and the adventures you're having. And envious of the size 12 dress (I'm an 18)

@annaredhead I'm normally a 16 in a dress, or an 18 to get the upper body space if it's got long or tight sleeves.  So I'm convinced that line was mis-sized in production, there were rather a lot of them on the sale rack.  I just took the time to find the one that fitted in order to bag a bargain 🙂

Thanks for the lovely compliment honey.  I can't quite believe how well femme life seems to fit me, I never ever saw this coming, but it's here and it's real.  And I love it 🙂

@finallyfiona I have 1 14 which I can squeeze into if I hold my breath and don't move. It was a mistake to buy it, but it was the first dress I bought before I could work out sizes. Sizing for me is based on shoulders and chest (even before I fill a bra)

@annaredhead That's about how it works for me too, and I certainly had a few throw-aways from the first batches of assorted size 14-16 clothes that I bought last year.  With my dresses and tops in 18's, I often have to use my larger forms (38DD) to take up the extra room under the arms,  but they're really a bit oversize for my frame otherwise.  My waist turns out to be more like a 14 for trousers and skirts though.

@finallyfiona At the waist I am 12-14. I don't own any feminine trousers but have started buying skirts and tops. I buy dresses that are either A-line or easily drawn in to give me a waist.

So happy for you, Fiona. Maybe someday you will have several weeks to be fully Fiona full time. And maybe acceptance from family???

For me I am presenting as Cassie full time except at work where I am planning to retire in a few months, then it is Cassie full time.

It seems I make a jump down this road every few weeks or so. For instance I have been going to Church as Cassie since this past September, most of the time in a dress (especially once the weather got decent).

@loneleycd That's what I'm doing at the moment 🙂 Other than a small number of evenings and a couple of weekends in the OH's company,  I've now been Fiona for 6 weeks straight.  I've changed a few things to make life easier, not bothering with hair and makeup if I'm not going out at all that day, and while it's been so hot these last few days I've just gone for my skimpiest clothing and no shapewear, bra or forms either.  But still appearing as feminine as I can within the circumstances, and often with a perfume.  My feelings do vary over time, but right now I want to stay like this and effectively socially transition, the same as you.  Meanwhile proper acceptance from family is limited to my son and his mother.  I shall just have to spend more time with them!

@finallyfiona Thsbk you for sharing another wonderful story with us. As I’m sure most of us cross dressers wish we had a lot more time to dress (I KNOW I do!) your amazing and uplifting stories allow us a fun, vicarious thrill! They also serve to remind me of the sheer joy I’ve had on my own outings and how much I want to go out again. Thank you for all of that.

Hugs, Jill

@jillannquinn Jill, that's so sweet of you to say, thank you honey 🙂  Being very active at the moment, I do sometimes wonder if I'm getting the balance right, I don't want to 'rub it in'.  But I do want to show how accepting I find the world around me is of my expressing myself en femme, to encourage other girls to experience it too.  Those interactions with other people are what give me so much joy, and I wish the same for all my sisters 🙂

@finallyfiona Nothing I’ve read in your stories comes across as “rubbing it in”. You’re simply presenting your outings in a fun and easily read manner that I for one (and judging by the responses, I’m not the only one) find endearing and enjoyable. So please, continue to share “The Fantastic and Fabulous Adventures of Fiona” with your rapt audience! I for one, will always tune in.

With much appreciation, Jill

@caroline2k I consider myself so fortunate to have had the circumstances and the opportunity to be able to immerse into femme life like this.  Fiona was given the keys to the bus, but she's still driving like she stole it 🙂  No sense in doing anything by halves, is there?

What great experiences Fiona. The outfits and hair look good so a lady of taste and style has emerged and how could anyone you meet not like what they see. Yours is the 'new normal' and when no one comments or needs to know you will have achieved the goal - perfect woman.

@ab123 Thank you, you're so kind to me honey but I don't want to be too perfect I don't think!  It seems to me that it's the visible journey that engages people's interest.  They can not-need-to-know or not comment directly about it if they like, but it's the interactions full stop that are so rewarding.

@joannaberry You're so kind honey!  I can assure you the '1' paddle would have been needed for my dancing though - if '0' wasn't an option, that is.  Fiona has naturally inherited my male self's two left feet 🙄

Fiona,

One of the reasons I enjoy reading your posts is to hear your growing sense of joy as you live more of your life as a woman. Your comment - "It really is a different life en femme, so much freer, so much more open to enjoyment" - mirrors my own feelings about living as a woman and I am so glad to see you experience the same.

@d44 Thank you so much Fiona 🤗  Yes, the more that I embrace and immerse myself into femme life, the more rewarding it becomes.  I am thinking that social transition is going to be the sweet spot for me.  While I much prefer to be en femme now, I still have no actual dysphoria as my male self.  While that remains the case, I don't think any form of medical intervention towards a physical transition is on the cards.

@firefly Gisela, it was - all of it!  And don't you worry, I'm not stopping 🙂  It'll just be a bit quieter in July for me as I've now done all the things I'd booked up for and haven't found any more until the start of August.
