My first meet-up with another CD finally came last weekend, when I returned to the scene of my big day out in March, to meet the lovely Angela @stockingtimeagain from this parish. Having not quite arrived in the same place, it took a little while to work out that we were only parked around the corner from each other, and to relocate to the best parking option. I have to say it's strange hugging another woman: I noticed with the OH's daughter too, you can't get as close as you normally would aim to because there are just too many boobs in the way 😀
Cars securely parked, off we set, arm in arm, to hit the shops! My shopping list for the day included a perfume I've been meaning to treat myself to ever since I had some samples from that first makeover in March - 'Alien' by Mugler. So in we went to that same Boots store. The assistant who unlocked the display to get the bottle out, and the lady at the till were both most accepting of the two 'six-foot sisters', and chatted away happily with us, most encouraging of us going out and enjoying expressing our femme selves.
Next stop was lunch, which ended up being at a Costa. We chatted happily over coffee, toasties and a shared choccy muffin, finding common musical tastes and swapping tales of our CD experiences. During lunch I also realised that my blue flat shoes weren't the size that they thought they were 😳. So the next stop afterwards was also Boots, this time for some heel plasters 🤕
Once patched up, off we went into Marks & Spencer and up to the lingerie department, another previous haunt. I was looking for another bra of the model I got last time, except in black. Being three months on, the ranges had all changed of course, but eventually I spotted some of 'my' ones on the sale rack - in all the wrong sizes naturally 🙄. But we had a lovely chat with a lady in a wheelchair, even better in my case for already kneeling down to look at the lower rail. She treated us like just another couple of ladies browsing lingerie 🙂 I did manage to find and try on a nice t-shirt dress in the sale on the lower floor, unexpectedly needing a 12 rather than my usual 16 to actually fit under the arms. I've put a shot of it in my public photos.
We had a look in Phase Eight in passing, if only to frighten ourselves at the prices of the dresses. Even the sale items were beyond what either of us would have considered! Lovely styles though. Angela unfortunately had to leave a little earlier than planned to pick up her wife on her unexpected early return from her own jaunt for the day. En route back to the car park we had a brief look in Next at some size 14 jeans, which looked promising. After we hugged goodbye at the pay machine I quickly went back to Next, tried the jeans on and found that they fitted nicely as I'd hoped. So against my better judgement at that price, they also came home with me 🙂

I wasn't home long! Just time for a cup of tea, shave again, an outfit change, eyeshadow and some different lipstick, and it was time to go right back to the car park where I'd just been! I had booked to see 'Everybody's Talking About Jamie', with a pizza in the foyer restaurant beforehand.
I felt a bit brazen walking from the car park to the theatre in broad daylight in a bright red dress, long lace-style cardigan and sparkly wedge sandals (also in my public photos), but I still got no looks that I noticed and heard no comments. If you know the story of Jamie, you'll appreciate why it had to be that dress 🙂 In the restaurant, although I was quite happy eating alone in my eye-catching outfit, the I felt the waitress was really being lovely, looking after me and she even complimented me on my new glasses 😊
Finally it was time for the show - I had the middle seat of a row of 5, right at the balcony on one end of the first circle! About the best view in the whole place, and you wouldn't believe how little they'd been selling it for when I spotted it 🙂 The show was amazing, but I won't spoil the story - I'll just say, do go see it if you get the chance while it's touring. One of the best bits though, was chatting away happily with the lesbian couple next to me before the start and during the interval. We spotted several other deliberate red dresses (on GG's) and one other man in a dress, which was obviously more of a comedy/dare sort of thing as he was dressed like one of Cinderella's sisters, complete with the stubble.

I got the red dress outfit out again this Saturday night just gone, too. This time it was to see La Voix at a smaller venue, the same one where I saw the Genesis cover band a few weeks ago. I wore my new hair out for the first time, which had arrived during the week 🙂 I had wanted to put false nails on too, I have almost the exact shade to match the paint on my toes, but I was running out of time when I couldn't get the backing of the sticky pads to separate, had to abandon the idea, quickly rub the pads off again and just go 😕.
On arrival, in the queue for the foyer bar I quickly got talking to a group of girls from a netball team on a hen night. They were so positive about my expressing my femininity, especially when I told them I was living as Fiona 🙂 Other people also just started conversations with me, that would never have happened had I gone in drab. But then again, I most likely never would have even bought the ticket in drab!
Taking my seat, I found myself next to a lovely lady and her friend, both about my age. Again, they were chatty and ever so supportive of my living and coming out en femme. My neighbour had beaten cancer a few years ago and was firmly of the opinion that life was too short and precious to do anything other than to be true to oneself, as not doing so would only build regrets for later on. That's advice that I will take to heart.
The show itself was all glitter and glammed up to the eyeballs, and great fun! What an outrageous vocal and comedy talent - there were a lot of jokes at the expense of musical and film divas, and also audience members who were picked out by the light of a powerful torch. The hen night had their turn under the roving beam, and a couple of ladies in the front row, only a few feet in front of me got a lot of attention! Did I secretly want to be singled out too? I was certainly enjoying myself openly as a woman in the company of women, and felt I was ready for whatever might happen. But as it was, I stayed out of the torchlight - just! The last number has to be the first time I've ever danced in a theatre though, and certainly the first time I've danced in public as Fiona! As the lights came up at the end, I felt completely liberated. It really is a different life en femme, so much freer, so much more open to enjoyment 🙂
@finallyfiona That sounds like an absolutely brilliant experience Fiona!
You can tell from the photo in your new dress just how much you enjoyed it 🙂
Good for you girl, grabbing life by the balls and doing what you want to do with it - long may you continue to do so! 😗😁
What great experiences Fiona. The outfits and hair look good so a lady of taste and style has emerged and how could anyone you meet not like what they see. Yours is the 'new normal' and when no one comments or needs to know you will have achieved the goal - perfect woman.
Fiona -

sounds like a wonderful day for being dressed up out and about! Thanks for sharing
Fiona,
One of the reasons I enjoy reading your posts is to hear your growing sense of joy as you live more of your life as a woman. Your comment - "It really is a different life en femme, so much freer, so much more open to enjoyment" - mirrors my own feelings about living as a woman and I am so glad to see you experience the same.

I too have seen 'Jamie' -- April 2024 -- and I too went there dressed; you will have seen the photo of my wife and I in the audience on my profile pictures. It was a good musical and we enjoyed it immensely.

It sounds like a really great experience, Fiona. Keep going, girl!
