I am fascinated by the music industry promoting crossdressing in music videos and live performances. I know quite a few including
Mylène Farmer’s live performance at Stade de France of “Sans Contrefaçon”
Faith No More’s cover of “Easy like Sunday morning”
Troye Silvan’s: “One of your girls”
Queen: “I wanna break free”
Zornik: “Scarred of yourself”
Obviously I like these, not necessarily for the music (some of it is good), but for promoting crossdressing to the next generation and making it mainstream.
Do any of you ladies know of other songs/videos featuring crossdressing? Or indeed any other contemporary cultural activities that promote crossdressing? I would love to hear about them.
Hugs Christine
The Kinks have two, and probabky more. "Lola" is one of the most famous CD songs but much lesser known and more to my liking is "Out of the Wardrobe".
Of course when can not mention crossdressing pop culture without including mention Eddie Izzard.
The Rolling stones dressed in 'Have you seen your mother baby, standing in the shadows 1968, David Bowie dressed - Boys keep swinging.
I'm a boy The Who.
I remember when Iggy Pop rocked a dress for a photo shoot
Hi Christine
A couple of songs come to mind: Great Pretender by Queen, in the official video the backing group is Freddie, John Deacon and Roger Taylor looking very glamorous....
Ladies Night by Atomic Kitten, there are crossdressers (or drag queens) in the video....
I do agree I wan't to break free is a fabulous video as well as a great song....
"Fit" by Joe Jackson from his Beat Crazy album. Its not a dance song but I love the passion and the lyrics.
