I have a pair of silicon breast forms and so far haven't worn them for more than a couple of hours at a time so haven't had any problems, but soon I want to start going out and the breast forms will be used for much longer. I can imagine that the skin under the breast form will start to get a bit hot and sticky as mine are in direct contact with my skin as I don't use a pocket bra. Any suggestions as to what would be the best material to put between the form and the chest skin to prevent sweating and the method for securing the same?

@rebeccabaxter Good question, Rebecca.

In my experience, the area doesn't get hot, but forms do cause sweating. If I am out and about when it is warm, I find that the whole front of the bra becomes wet with sweat, hence odd sweat marks when wearing certain tops.

I haven't found any form covers yet that I want to buy because most seem to be sized arbitrarily or specifically for branded forms. If you don't know the size comparison for other brands or no-name forms, how do you know which ones to buy?

A more general accessory may be something like a T-shirt or a corset liner. You can use them regardless of your forms. At least you could experiment using that while you hunt for the right sized form cover.

Obviously, wash the skin after wearing forms, too.

Special FX makeup pros have a number of tools to combat sweat and attach various prosthetics to actors' bodies, including breast forms.  Michael Davies Sweat Stop is an industry standard anti-perspirant.  It works far better than drug store varieties and won't interfere with the use of silicone adhesives.  Telesis 8 is a superior medical-grade adhesive.  Properly applied, it will keep your forms attached for many hours or even days.  Both products can be found at theatrical supply stores and online.  You can also use Hollilster medical adhesive.  It's easier to find and costs a bit less, but doesn't work as well as Telesis 8.

I don't have too much of a problem with that issue.  I sleep wearing a bra and forms, and I have all sizes of forms.  In that environment one usually will lay this way and that and the movement will usually create a gap somehow and skin cools off.  Maybe the kind of bra makes a difference.  Some have more padding (insulation). You might have your body heat transfer into the form but the heat transfer will keep on going out towards the areola.  I learned I do not wear a 36- or 38-band bra, but rather a 42.  If I go out in public and were wearing a bra in the 38 band and were stretching it way out, I suppose the bra will hold the form very tightly against me.  But with a 42, I generally move enough and there will again be a gap here and there.  I guess one could also experiment with her underwire vs no wire bras.  This evening I'm in a no-wire and I think it's a little less comfortable.  I went from 8pm last night to 10am this morning in a Bali underwire with a C-cup form.  I hated to take it off, it was so comfortable.

Thanks Gina, I asked the question in advance of the perspiration happening, it never occurred to me that it might not at all.

When I get Fiona time I spend all day in my forms, I've also carried on and slept in them.  In winter, perspiration isn't an issue.  In summer, not as much as you might think either, as I tend to have thinner and looser clothing on.  Like anything that spends time next to your skin, you will need to wash them every now and then - your nose will tell you when it's been too long!  This will also gee up the adhesive, such as it is.  Wash the polythene backing sheets they come with too, so you're not sticking them back on something dirty when you're done for the day.  You can get purpose-made breast-form cleaner sprays, but I find just normal hand soap from a pump bottle and warm water does the trick, just rinse and repeat to be sure.

Becca,

I wear a bra and forms full time on a daily basis, and like you, do not use a pocket bra.  Similar to Gina, I have not experience an issue with perspiration with exception of when such perspiration is expected, like heavy physical activity.  I will admit on those days that perspiration can  be annoying, and makes me wish for fully natural breasts even more.  But in the end, I do see how it is much different than my GG friends complaining of under boob sweat.

When I began wearing my silicone forms all day, I developed little tiny blisters around my nipples. These didn't hurt but were worrying so I left my forms off until they had healed. As has been mentioned, a pocket bra will keep them away from direct contact with your skin. For me, the best solution was to buy some breast form covers. They are available from Amazon and other places. I got 2 sets of covers so I can was one set while using the other. It works for me anyway, I have not had a case of blisters since getting the covers.

Good solution. When I had tenderness  and redness around the nipple, I bought nursing pads ( a round 2 to 3 inch diameter pad) , that ones new  mothers use. I used 2 on each side, worked great.  If you have trouble keeping in place, use Double side tape to put them on the form.

I dont get hot under my forms, simply cos I dont wear them in the warmer weather. either on a hot OZ summer night or certainly out in public on hot days. I dress age appropriate (aks mature lady) so anything "Skimpy" would look ridiculous on me.

My go to public forms are the Gold seals from BFS. They use to the double sided tape method of attachments around the edges of the form. So I'm not 100% covered by the form.

Pocket bras may help, but I like the feeling of "my breasts" attached to me.
