Can anyone suggest a good print magazine for girls like us? I am feeling nostalgic about having an actual magazine to read instead of everything being on line!

@sailor2000 They all seem to be of the top shelf variety, unfortunately. A ladies' fashion magazine might be a better option.

Hugs,

@sailor2000

Voted ‘Best Niche Magazine’ and ‘Best Digital Magazine several years running, Frock was a glossy digital magazine that was aimed squarely at the Transgender and Drag communities. First published by The Gender Society in June 2009, Frock was full of Drag and Transgender-related articles, features and stories of interest to Transsexuals, Crossdressers, Drag Queens, Transvestites and Intersexed people everywhere.

Over eight years (until the middle of 2017) we had published over forty issues of Frock and they are all still available in the Frock Magazine archive of back issues. You can sign up to access the archive now by clicking here and read them all.  You can access each issue individually or go for the whole archive at a bargain price.

@sailor2000 I'm afraid if there are any they are likely to be porn oriented and not really the kind that you are looking for. Magazines are disappearing. It costs so much to print and you need a large audience.

Hi Megan, Transliving International Magazine is available here in the UK, I don't know if they will ship it to the US but you only have to ask....x

@andreauk Subscriptions to Transliving and the archive of Frock is available through PocketMags.  Both are available in the US this way.  It's all digital format but at least they are available.  I get most of my magazines in digital format now and the cost is much less than paper copies.

If anyone is interested in an on-line transvestite (their word, not mine) archive, look up the Tranvestia archive at the University of Victoria.

@harriette I've checked this out too and I second Harriette's recommendation.  There is some fascinating information here.   I love the information on the Paris girls of the 50s and 60s.

@lauren114

I regularly look at the Transvestia archive. It's an amazing (and totally free) resource.

As you say, there's some fascinating stuff there 🙂

David Reimer

Canadian boy raised as girl following botched surgery (1965–2004)

David Reimer was a Canadian man raised as a girl following medical advice and intervention after his penis was severely injured during a botched circumcision in infancy. The psychologist John Money oversaw the case and reported the reassignment as successful and as evidence that gender identity is primarily learned. (Wikipedia for full story)

I always enjoyed LadyLike, which unfortunately is no longer in print; however, the whole collection is available in an online archive. Just search for 'digital transgender archive'.
