Hi everyone, I have decided to get a professional makeover this summer. It sounds like a wonderful thing to do and I am very much looking forward to it. As I understand the package I am planning to purchase, I will get an hour and a half to go from drab to dressed, get made up while getting advice and tips. I then get a one hour photo session with one change of outfit.
I am wondering if any of my sisters that have had a similar makeover experience had any advice for me? From your experience, is there anything you would do differently if you could do it again? What two outfits to bring along? I would like to really enjoy this special treat so I hope I get some feedback that will allow me to optimize the experience. Thanks in advance!
Have fun Penelope!

That sounds wonderful Penelope and u do hope you have the total feminine experience you deserve, you sound and look lovely. Does anyone know any professional services like this in Scotland or even down in England , I would just adore such an opportunity and I can’t find anywhere , it would mean so much to me , thanks xx
I have had two makeovers and the first one was the first time I ever had makeup and a wig on and it was a life changing experience. The makeovers I had included eyelashes, I'd be surprised if yours didn't, and they polished my natural nails. I don't think press ons were an option but I didn't ask. They also provided all the clothing, including bra and forms, shoes and jewelry. BYO panties. Getting tips on recommended makeup shades and products was very helpful in saving me a lot of trial and error expense going forward since once I saw the magic makeup can do I had to learn how to do it myself. It's still a work in process.
Seems like best bet is to check with your MUA to see what is included and what you need to provide. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time and an hour photoshoot sounds fantastic. I only got a few pictures snapped in each of the two outfits.
I had a blast when I had my makeover. Great experience and well worth it! enjoy it!
Hi Penelope,
I had my first makeover in December and it was wonderful, I'm hoping it won't be my last, Tracey who worked on me was wonderful she explained everything she was doing and we talked all the way through it and she put me so at ease, as you can see from my pictures the results of her work, I'm sure you will love it when you have your makeover, the only thing i can tell you is when picking your outfits is pick one what you would wear for everyday and the other something glizzy for a night out on the town, so all I've got to say is enjoy yourself and just live in the moment forget everything else and good luck hun,

Last fall, I splurged on a makeover for a special occasion. My MUA (at Sephora-didn't bat an eye) asked me if I wanted to do false eyelashes. I figured I'm here; let's go for it all! 🤣 (I realized that one of my 5 public photos (long dress) actually contains the eyelashes, but they're so small you can't tell 🤣 )
The obvious answer is to simply callor text and ask. I do not think there is any standard service. Some will do nails, others have an arrangement with a near by nail salon.
When I went to Miss Lola in London, she provide a glass or two of wine, which was a nice way to relax. If not , having a glass or two of wine prior to your appointment might not be a bad idea. My other word of advice is to add some additional looks, if you can afford it. The more outfits you get to wear and pose in, the better chance you will get photos you really like.
I've never fancied getting a pro makeover. I can see from pictures on here that they do a fantastic job, but I'd be afraid of setting my expectations too high AFTER the makeover, after all, these are professionals and my own makeup efforts would pale into insignificance. I would be eternally disappointed with my DIY work going forward.
No, I'll stick to doing it myself and admire other's results from the comfort of my makeup table

True Becca, but it can also be a great learning experience. Most MUAs are happy to explain what they are doing an d why. Consider it a makeup lesson, if you will. If ai want proper make up, I have a MUA do it, because I can never come close to what they can do. I do just basic make up myself, and I have never had the time or pantience to learn to do full makeup myself.
