Hi Everyone!
Recently my wife came to me and asked me to download and app and install it on my phone. The app is called Life 360. I am not sure of all of it's features so don't consider this an endorsement of it per say.....
In explaining her reasoning to me, the app allows us to track each others locations. On the one hand It has me thinking.... "just where exactly do you think I have been?". I didn't ask such a question though.
She went on to explain that she worries about all of us, (meaning me and the kids of course) and the app would give her peace of mind just knowing when we are traveling and knowing that we made it to our destinations. Seriously she is that kind of a concerned person. She really isn't the suspicious type.
Bonus side effect of the app.... When anyone in the family is coming home and their car is about 2 blocks away the app announces their arrival......
Just enough time to grab a robe if needed and head into the bathroom to keep my secret "in the closet"
Isn't technology grand?
Hugs,
Autumn
Thats pretty cool. I usually use the Apple Location Services since the whole family is invested in that ecosystem but no alerting with that. Whenever I hear about this kind of tech I have the usual knee jerk reaction to another group of people knowing where I am at all times (I mean the application developers/company) and the possibility that they may sell that info down the road, even if they say they won't for now. Still, this sounds interesting because we have a manual gate at the end of our driveway and it's a bit of a pain to operate when driving. We usually try to open it when someone is returning, otherwise we keep it closed to keep the deer out...
It sounds super handy for your situation.

Boy, I sure could've used that recently!
Hi Dawn!
Did you get busted or just a close call?
Hugs,
Autumn
Now that I think about it.... I am the ONLY android user in the house....
Autumn...
If only you had a friend who was due to visit the international space station....I wonder what the apps range is????
Smiles, grace xx
was reading about that earlier Autumn it is a paid service if read it right depending on which service wanting. Better switch to apple lol. Leave your phone at home then can't track you. Of course all phones have their own tracker service discovered google even with a phone off can still track the routes take and places visits.

I'm in the closet fully. This app would destroy my shopping abilities. No way would I want this in my life.
If only I could get my ex-wife on the ISS.....
Phone app could say "Warning! Blood sucking vulture 220 miles directly over head!"
Autumn....
I'm using all my female intuition here...but I think i could be sensing........... bitterness???..😂😂
Maybe.....
Or perhaps just an accurate description....
Depends on who you are I guess.....
Sorry, Autumn, but too much “technology for this girl...
Hugs

I hate that we are all tracked and profiled now..... the beast is winning and we are helping! Some days I just want to go unabomber and go off the grid entirely but then I couldn't do my online shopping... sigh.
Well thank goodness for online shopping then!!!
I've never got on with Apple kit, ever since the first time I encountered it, 30 years ago - and still hate my work iPhone!
My wife loves Apple devices and has the kids on it, against my strong advice... what do I know?
I only have a degree in Computing and 27 years experience in the industry...
And I do recognise personal choice when I see it 😊😊😊
So I'm not on the Apple tracking ecosystem, my Android sends plenty of data to Google and whoever else has tapped in via the apps I use.
I tried to get my wife to install Life 360, as it looks really cool, and, with an 18 year old daughter, who passed her driving test first time, I'd quite like to know exactly where she might have run out of petrol or burst a tyre...
My wife could also see exactly where I am when I go away for the weekend, so, when I tell her, she can visualise the walks and places - and share it, just a bit.
I'm so done with hiding - it really doesn't matter who knows where I go or what I do. I am impervious to their fiendish advertising... except for pretty dresses, of course!!!
