Hi Girls,
I know, I know most if not all of you will say "No don't do it", but here is the scoop on what I'm purging.
First of all what I'm purging are skirts, and dresses that my ex wife and SO bought me. They are not my style, or don't fit me any more, way to long (skirts and dresses) well below my knees which I don't care for at all. My style is 4" above the knee to Mini. I showed them how to compare my length to theirs several times but they never understood what I was saying. Anyways only the things that don't fit, are too long or are totally not my style will be purged. Some of the items I haven't worn in 8-10 years.
I'm going to start living my life not thiers.

So, not so much a purge, Kathleen, as a clear out of things you don't use - I do that regularly myself - mostly because I'd run out of wardrobe space otherwise! Of course if I stopped buying things it might help... But tastes change and we learn what suits us better, so it's almost inevitable that some clothing will fall out of favour. For me, those items head to the charity shop where hopefully they will go on to good use.

Phew!
You had me worried there!
Of course, the correct attitude is "Never purge"
Downsizing and having a clear out are essential - mind the items go to good new homes where they'll be loved 😍😍😍😍😍
Love Laura
Yes they will find a new home with a charitable organization.

Kathleen,
Dress for Sucess takes donated women’s business attire. They help women rendering the working world. If you have a local chapter please consider them for your donations.

We should have a forum for swapping clothing that we want to get rid of. Post photos of items that others may enjoy having. Just an idea that I've had in my head lately.
I've thought that same thing!

That's right! You do your thing! Clear out all the unwanted, unneeded, and unfitting, make room for what you like. And truly live your own life and style.
Bridgette
That's not a purge, it's a refresh.
I'd call that liberation! Good for you Kathleen!
Though I hate that "P" word very much, sometimes we do need to update our styles at least a little. I do it to a small degree all year with at least a monthly donation to the thrifties, then a much bigger one at the seasonal switch.
Go for it Kathleen, and don't try to second guess your choices, but do give them day or so set aside where you can't see them, then go through them again before you load them and go for donation.

Kathleen....
If you have anything that brings back bad memories of " that relationship", then of course you must clear out. You are starting a new chapter in your life and I totally understand your need to pur...pu....purg........nope, no good, can't say it.....
Good luck honey and well done!!!
