Hi ladies what is the best way to shave your legs for first time xxxx
Hi Sammy,
I believe there's an older thread that has a lot of good info on this in the fashion and beauty forum, I'll link it if I find it.
Long story short, there's a lot of different takes on how to do it, and I'm sure the best way will depend on the amount and type of body hair you have. Personally I use an electric clipper to get it close and then water (no cream or gel) and an older razor against the grain, then shower and moisturize. I find this gets rid of the hair for a day or two with a minimum of nicks and redness.
Whatever method you use though, give yourself plenty of time so you can do it in a calm and relaxed state of mind. It'll take some time to get to know your hair's growth patterns, particularly in those *ahem* harder to see and reach spots. Think of it as an art form; don't expect perfection your first time around but have fun learning!
Thank you for The tips I can’t wait to shave my legs tonight xxxx
I used an electric hair cutter to remove the long hair to a stubble. Then got in the shower and exfoliated to soften up the pores. While in the shower I used shaving gel and a new razor blade. Then patted my legs with a clean soft towel and used Neutrogena Hydro Boost whipped body balm on my legs. They turnout so smooth and silky. Nothing like fresh shaved smooth legs being put into stockings...I sort of make it a ritual when shaving my legs. I enjoy taking my time to ensure a close shave with no nicks.

Found it! https://www.crossdresserheaven.com/forums/topic/hair-problem/
I'm excited for you; nothing like the feel of stockings and skirt on freshly-shaved legs for the first time. Share some pics if that's something you're comfortable doing!
Thank you hun for finding the link I will put some photos up soon as I’m just starting to crossdress so will need all the encouragement I can and to build up my confidence big hugs xx
Depending on how much hair you have on your legs it may take a lot times going over them and cleaning out the razor. If you have never shaved your legs before it may take time to develop and effective technique. You may cut yourself a lot at first.
I would suggest you use a chemical hair remover like Nair the first time. Apply and remove it according to instructions. It works real well and will remove a lot of hair. Then you can practice technique with a razor or continue to use chemical hair removers.
I find what works best for me is a slightly dull razor that doesn't work good on my face. I get in the shower, shot off the water, soap up my legs and run the razor over them. I can keep adding soap from a washcloth if I need it. Then I simply rinse off. It's fast, easy and neat and I rarely cut myself.
Up date I shaved my legs the other night they feel amazing then I put on a new pair of tights on just wow
Years ago I bought a small trimmer to take all of my hair down to the nub before I shaved. Then it is just maintenance work. I do it every day or two in the shower. I soap my legs to make it easy.
As many of other girls have said, trimming down with some clippers, like a beard and moustache trimmer to stubble, really helps before that intial shave.
I suggest if you can, to not let it get long after that. Keep shaving.. you'll feel better as you'll be beautifully smooth more often, and it won't be as much of a task if you maintain. If you're worried about it being a "tell" in your day to day.. don't.. these days guys shave everything pretty regulary and frankly nobody notices or nobody cares. If someone does notice it's more likely to be a compliment than ridicule. So be free and make yourself feel good.
Couple tricks and tips I've learned..
1) Men's sensitive shave foam is, believe it or not, better for shaving than women's. Don't worry about scents and moistrizers you're going to use other product for that anyways.
2) Sharp razors are great. Let your razor dry thourghly inbetween uses. Batecria can grow on the blades leading to razor bumps, irratation and possibly staff infections if you're not careful. Take care of your equipment. If you use some sort of bump reducer/remover even better as they tend to be an antiseptic, killing the bacteria you may have imparted via your razor.
3) Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. This is probably the biggest tip for keeping razor bumps and ingrowns at bay, as well as keeping everything super silky smooth. Particularly the bikini area, and back of thighs.. game changer. A good salt or sugar scrub can make your day.
4) Hydrate your skin.. lotion especially after shaving and exfoliating not only makes your legs silky smooth and soft, it also helps keep the skin around the hair folicals soft. Again to reduce the chances of ingrowns and razor bumps by allowing the hair to be able to emerge .
Part of it all is finding your own routine, some of the tips other gals have shared with me don't work at all, and some of it does. Finding what works for you not only makes you feel better, but also helps build more confidence in yourself.
Lot of Love,
Leah
Thank you so much Leah for your tips xxx
I would just like to add that it doesn't how you shave, just shave. You won't regret it. Patience is important, take your time and go slow. There are many ways to shave (or remove hair without shaving) and all have advantages and disadvantages. The simplest is to just take a few new razors with you and soak in a hot bath while shaving. Shave short strokes and rinse frequently. Apply lotion or shea butter afterward. Enjoy, just be prepared for one of the most erotic experiences of your life when you have sex after your first shave.
Epilator!!!
Although I only recently accepted my crossdressing I have been shaving legs and other parts for many years now. My best investment was rechargeable epilator. It works by plucking the hair out similar to waxing, but with no mess. It is a little painful, but once the endorphins kick in it is not too bad. because it actually plucks the hair right out it takes about a week to come back and comes back with a fine tip, not a rough, cut end. I use it about once a week to keep my legs nice and smooth. The model I have is fully waterproof, so I can use it in the shower, or even better, in the bath!!
Good luck with the shaving - smooth legs are awesome!!

That's great to hear. It is an amazing feeling.
