Two days ago I was at the mall to get my broke computer fixed (side note, back up your data, take it from me) and passed a Torrid store.
I had not been in a Torrid store in a while so I walked inside.
I was greeted by the clerk and told her that I was just browsing.
As I was looking I asked the clerk for clarification on Torrid’s sizing. Without hesitation she axed, what size are you?
I told her I was a 12/14 and she said I would be a 0/1 in Torrid’s sizing, and to be comfortable and look around. I told her that I was shopping for myself, she smiled and said, I know that.
I looked a bit and saw two items that I liked. I asked the gal if it was possible to try on the clothing. She said absolutely. I told her I was new at this and she said, we all are and I’m still trying to figure it out. Then I realized- dumb me- that she may have been trans, but presented very well.
She walked me to the changing room and told me to ask if I needed anything. I was very impressed.
Sadly when I tried the clothes the neckline was too low for my liking, but I did discover that I am a Torrid size 1!
When I left the store the gal gave me her name, and said to call or come back anytime that I am always welcome.
She was so sweet and kind, I will be back.
I plan on writing a letter to Torrid corporate complementing this wonderful gal.
Take care all, have fun. Staci
A lovely little story xx Thanks for sharing.

I've had nothing but great experiences shopping at the Torrid near me. My first trip there was actually the second time I went shopping presenting femme, ever. The staff was great and I've spent a lot of money there since then, LOL.
- I like Torrid they are always nice .Lane Bryants and JC Penny's seam the fit me better The sales people at all thing have always been very helpful and professional
I have browsed at Torrid a few times, but their sizing is too big for me, but I have always felt welcome. That said, I have shopped en femme or en homme in many stores and tried on my things and never had an issue. In fact, as noted here many times, SAs seem to go out of their way to help.
Hi Staci,
I’ve only had terrific experiences shopping at Torrid. Some items are offered only on their web site and you can have them shipped to a store location. Should the purchase not be what you expected you can return it at the store.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences at my local Torrid store as well. Most of the sales associates are really friendly and helpful, and totally accepting of me. More often than not, I’m there in drab mode, but it’s clearly no secret to anyone that I’m shopping for myself. I wish their clothes were a little less expensive, but I have gotten some great deals on clearance stuff. And it’s the only place I can find feminine footwear that fits me.

Thank you for your post. It sounds like a wonderful experience you had.
I just found a local Torrid store and plan on going there in the near future and your experience has helped boost my courage to go. I'll be sure to post about my experience.
XOXO

Torrid has a pretty solid reputation wherever they are.
We have several stores here in the greater Atlanta metro area, and all treat CDs very well.
Torrid is my main source for shoes, because they sell true wide-width shoes. If you have wide feet, Torrid is the place to find shoes that will fit you.
The stores are a convenient place to return on-line orders and get instant credit for your return.
Can we get a Torrid over here in the UK please? 🙂
