Some people on CDH are blessed to have a SO that goes shopping with them and helps with things that we did not grow up doing such as make-up, grooming, etc.
Some people have to be totally in the closet and others are at various points in the middle.
For those that have a SO that is not against you being CD but doesn't want to be a part of it, do you have a CIS woman friend that you go shopping with and get advice on the things you did not learn growing up and have to learn as you go?
Recently I went shopping with my daughter and it was the most fun I have had in a long time. Most of the time I go shopping alone. I do enjoy my shopping experiences but it is a lot more fun with someone else.
No SO here usually shop alone at times my sister and law or my mother will go with me. Both are such a great time together. Love the look my mother have when helping me find something to wear for night out. Really think she misses the shopping alot for what girls that in our family counting relatives.

Hi Tina,
You are a lucky lady, to have a supportive daughter. Wish I could say the same, but I'm not allowed to tell them, and from the hints I've made, they are against it.
My wife shops with me - or did, before her disability prevented it, but she hasn't been into makeup since she retired. To have a gg shopping companion is my dream.
Hugs,
Bettylou
Eventhough my SO knew we were going shopping, she was less than thrilled when we actually bought clothes. I hope I get the opportunity to go shopping with my daughter in the future.
That is so great!!!! I wish I had a shopping GF!
My wife and I go and get our toes done together. We have been together when I have bought tights.
I'm not interested in meeting others to go shopping with. I kinda keep to myself.
I do have a few friends I go shopping with occasionally but I much prefer to be solo. For me there are a lot of dynamics going on and I never want to feel rushed or the need to spend or buy. I have some basic rules I follow and feel it has worked well for me. As far as style, well that just came and think I have it dialed in good for me. When I look back at some of my old photos I'm glad it's changed.
Saturday 3 of us did a slightly different shopping day, a wig store. We all go there separately but this time as a group. It was great fun and we all bought at least one new hairpiece.
I do think for many the help from a SO or female friend is good and can help match pieces together for the polished look.

I have a good friend who I used to work with. We meet up for a coffee regularly and after have a wander around the shops. There is a nice clothes shop nearby and we will always go in and browse. They have some nice clothes and also a good reduced rail. It seems that every time we go in she will find something for me or I will find something for her. Today was no exception as I walked away with a lovely dress that she found for me.
After getting over the shock of my coming out to her (she suspected) my SO helped me shop for clothes and lingerie for about two years, then one day she decided it just wasn't her thing so I shop alone now. She would never help with makeup either. Would love a GG to help me shop especially with the makeup.
Sounds amazing
I generally shop with my SO and it's a lot of fun. We will do a lot of window shopping as we're going to the supermarkets or to buy groceries and things, and just veer off into shops (or the clothes isles of the supermarkets) if we see something that catches the eye. We sometimes have a few particular clothes or makeup that is already on our shopping list prior to us starting, but most of the time it's just a little impromptu and a lot of fun 🙂
We should totally set up a shopping 'buddy' program for girls looking for someone to shop with! Would be so fun!!!
Other than our SO and GG friends that we have told, does anyone think there would be interest in the GG world for shopping buddies with a person who is CD?
I dress in drab when I go shopping but almost always have supportive salespeople where I shop. They are helpful but are trying to sell you clothes. They are not necessarily objective whether something looks good on you.
No SO here and I do most of my shopping by myself, finding good deals and things like that. I don't really have a strong sense of style and pick up mostly just what I find cute and want in the moment. However, over the years I have managed to make a few friends that I do plan on going shopping with. As a matter of fact, I have a small outting planned for Labor Day that I am looking forward to.
Sounds like fun
