I seem to destroy stockings and hose on a daily basis!!
I frequently go in person shopping at Wal-Mart/Target at their least busy times, and am efficient in quickly grabbing and moving on when browsing the women's section; I again also feel more comfortable wearing a covid cloth face mask to avoid any possible local recognition.
I wish more stores had Self Checkout (especially Kohls) so I can purchase without any potential embarrassment, or is this selfish as this is not helping with unemployment?!? Thoughts?
Anyone advise me of their 'easiest' place to physically shop for bras/panties/stockings/slips?
Suzi. X
I don't think its selfisg.
I can't say for other stores, but when we got our self checkouts at the local walmart it added a few more jobs according to my cousin who is an assistant manager there.
I still haven't worked up the courage to buy abything myself yet, still relying on ny wife or sister-in-law to pick stuff up for me.
The easiest is shopping online but I know its a different experience than in person in retail stores. I get a little thrill going through the regular checkout that normally has female cashiers from the cashier herself and the person behind me seeing bras, panties, and such as I place them on the counter. The cashier usually is nonplused but if the person behind me is a male he's usually a bit wide eyed.... lol. Female shoppers usually look a bit disgusted... lol
It's really not hard to do this even in drab. Go buy one item for yourself and see for yourself!
I promise it isn't as big of a deal as you think!
I buy a lot of my things through self check out, usually it's at Walmart and they don't have any employee's working the registers. It really doesn't make any difference to me whether I go to the self check out or not. I buy what I want. sometimes, if the cashier is a female, she may say this pretty, or something else. mostly, they just don't care what I am purchasing, they are just going through their day at work. I think we make it more of deal than it really is.
No matter where I shop or for whatever items, I go to the checkout with the shortest line. It doesn't matter if it's self checkout or a cashier. Even at self checkouts I have problems when an item won't scan or accidentally double scans, then I have to get someone to help. I have never received any negative looks or comments. In fact I have received compliments on my outfit, nails etc. One cashier even commented that my eye shadow color matched my pocket book.
I know it's easier said than done but I quit worrying long ago about what other people may think or say. Chances are slim to none that I will ever encounter any of them again. There is one younger female cashier at the filling station we use I see often. She is very cute and pleasant and we always have very nice interactions.
My suggestion is just do your thing, damn the torpedoes and full speed ahead.
Suzi,
In this case, you are probably your own worse enemy. Sales associates and cashiers will not care whether you buying for yourself or someone else. While I admit that I was fearful in the beginning, I am comfortable shopping today in person.

I find the self checkouts to be very useful when I'm buying intimates and makeup.

Hi.
Most of the clothes I buy have security tags fitted, so I need to see a sales assistant to remove them anyway...it's the same with alcohol too...
This sort of defeats self checkout. I haven't had a single bad moment with sales assistants...they are just there to do a job....and every time a trip is incident free...your confidence soars....

I buy in person a lot of the time at Kohl’s and other stores like it and of all the times I have bought panties there I have only had one negative clerk. She made a snarky comment about how the panties she held up would look good on me. The way she held them up and her tone indicated to me that she was not joking etc so I just said you think so and moved on. She is the only clerk I have ever gotten attitude from. One thought is that you might get a cheap wedding ring and flash it as you are standing there and imply you are buying for the wife if you are nervous. I just have the attitude that I am buying myself underwear and the clerks have with the above exception just treated me the same as they do a gg buying any panties
I find walmart/target are about the best stores to pay in person.
I've purchased women's stuff in walmart a few times, this was before self check out, and no hassles. Besides, with the high volume of people trucking thru walmart at any given time, the cashiers and customers could careless what you bought.
As someone pointed out, the security tag when you pay via cashier gets deactivated. If you do it via self check, sometimes the way you swipe the tag may not deactivate it, so that will set off the security alarm which will attract attention. I've had this happen a few times, the security guard just looks at the receipt and then said ok and waved me on.
I know here in Canada more and more places have installed self check out. Clothing stores not so much but drug stores, department stores and some other places have and when buying makeup its nice to just slide up to the self checkout and be on your way. A lot of places do offer buy and pay online and pickup at the store. That could be another avenue to use. Then you are just picking up a bag, no one sees what is in it.
