Hi Ladies!

I'm having a blast! Love it here at CDH. The level of honesty is unequalled anywhere else, not to mention the warmth and humour too. Thank you!

So... anyone out there have a six pack tummy or something close? How did you achieve this? What specific exercises did you do? How about diet? Did I come to the wrong place?

My current physique is more whisky barrel than hourglass. I would love to achieve that shapely figure, but not sure if the genetic gods are on my side, but I can at least try. My GP says cut out the carbs. Well, I did just that and for a whole year too! Nothing...

I do much cycling and some weights, but I still have the same bloated-body-shape I had in my slothful 30s, but I'm in way better fitness now. Go figure...

However, I looked pretty good during my army days, but by default we worked out for hours a day and I was quite a bit younger. I'm good for 1 to 2 hours of working out a day.

I suppose I'm lucky my two bottom halves need no any additional enhancement, nor my hips, but bringing in my gut would really make a difference. I'm not interested in any blood-restricting compression devices, at least not until I've exhausted all other fitness options.

Crunches? Pushups? How many and how often? They're kinda boring and I lose interest fast. Get a coach? Pass the cream and sugar, please... (maybe I just answered my own question).

Now I have noticed that if I spend some time in high heels my gut does naturally pull-in if I concentrate on my posture. Anyone walk/run on a treadmill in heels? I'm not yet ready for the outdoors, but getting closer.

Thanks for any advice, serious or otherwise,

💓 Barb :B

Hi Barb go on youtube many videos on what can do.  As for walking on a treadmill in heels did manage walking one on at a natural walk speed. Heels were 3inch. flat incline. Think you answered few of the workout routines like crunches and pushup.  Have fun and don't over do it.

That's an excellent point, Donna! Just a hint of abs. And way more doable too!

I currently look like I'm 8 months pregnant, with twins!

Part of my workout is several different ab machines at the gym, and it's helping. But the biggest thing is diet, exercise alone isn't going to get the job done.

My wife is on a permanent keto diet due to thyroid cancer, and she has become an amazing no-low carb cook. She even hosts a group for sharing recipes and tips. Tonight, she made pumpkin bread as a treat, each generous piece has only 3 carbs! She has lost quite a bit herself, so far, and I am so proud of her.

If anyone is interested, and it doesn't break the rules, I will share her group info for you girls.

I follow that diet as much as I can, but have to be careful due to my own issues, so can't go full keto. But what I can do has not only helped me lose weight, but helped with my diabetes (type II) quite a bit as well! I am told that when I lose enough weight, it might even go in remission. I can hope!

Once I get the weight off, plan to hit the ab machines harder, try to get that flat girlish belly more than a six pack. It's all in the routine I use. The general workout I currently use is also geared more for women, I'm chasing that femme physique as much as I can without HRT.

I am sure don't want to look like one of those buffed female bodybuilders. Then again some of them look pretty nice looking lol. With muscles and all like that doubt the guys will not come near you while dressed.

Barb...

I do lots of walking and it does keep me trim. It's how you mix the " goodies " and the exercise!!

I cannot live on lettuce and water however good it would make me look, I need my treats.!!!!

A regular 18"pizza with fries will soon grow that " pregnant " look perfectly...

.....the " diet ' coke with it just won't help🤣🤣

Thanks, Dianne!

Sorry about your SOs cancer. Mine too. Good news, she's now been C free for over 10 years. Her risk of recurrence is now the same as any healthy person. Yeah, it can be beaten! All the best!

My SO and her brother are just naturally fit and have the abs to prove it. Really pisses me off! LOL!

I try and manage my carb intake, but it's not easy. Those sugars are like a drug!

I'm actually "in progress" for a tummy Donna has best described - not necessarily ruffly, but more smooth and flat. I am NOT flat. Somewhat puffy, really. But I am smooth .)
