Hello everyone!
As some of you may know, I love board games. One of my favorite games is call Arkham Horror the card game. Otherwise know as Arkham Horror the living card game. Originally I got the basic core set for 1-2 players as a Christmas gift. I played through 1 scenario twice with 1 of the 5 possible investigator decks, enjoyed it, and then put it on the shelf for the next 5-6 years. 3 months ago I took it down off of the shelf and played through the 3 scenario campaign with all 5 investigator decks. Some solo, some two handed. I liked it so much I purchased the revised core set (for 3-4 players which gave me a boost in how many cards I could build decks with), and I purchased the Dunwich Legacy campaign expansion and investigator expansion. Giving me another 5 investigators, and 8 more campaign scenarios. Most recently I went on line and purchased 5 more investigator starter decks. 4 of those came last Friday. I played a three handed solo game with 3 of those 4. Today the last one arrived.
So..... the weird bit.
This is the 15th investigator that I have gotten. Funny that I haven't bothered to read the back story (flavor text) on any of the investigator cards until this one. I am including all of it, but the first part is the most relevant to the weird.... It says :
"Before Stella began working for the Postal Service in Arkham, she knew two things with certainty. First, her parents made a mistake when they called her their son and gave her a boy's name. Second, the house on the cliff in Kingsport whispered her true name --- the name she chose for herself--- late at night. "Stella". Delivering the mail six days a week in all kinds of weather wasn't an easy job, but Stella loved knowing that she was helping people connect with one another. The she started finding the letters. At the end of her route there was always on extra enveloper in her bag. It was always postmarked from Kingsport. And it always contained a letter with one typed word: "Stella"
So yeah..... I ignored 14 investigator card back grounds.... and immediately noticed this one.... that was delivered by it's self....
Imagunna read the other 14
I am sure Stella will get an Arkham playthrough soon. You will probably be able to read all about it in "Game Players Paradise". For those of you who don't know, that's a group I created on CDH for everyone to share their game experiences. Shameless self serving plug? Maybe. Not like there are any royalties involved. But the group is there for any game related story, review, or opinion you want to share. Even if it involves kissing Dominoes. If you don't undertstand that last reference you should read River's post "Domino No No Update to game night" and the comments that followed.
Remember. Life is to short not to play games, so get your game on!
