Ok girls here's my first post and question. I'm always looking for places to purchase things I want to support my "Nikki life." What seems to be a bit of a challenge for me is hosiery and stockings. Nothing feels better than shaved legs, hosiery and beautiful heels. I feel extremely feminine when dressed as such. I seem to have challenges in finding great places to buy from that will have what I'm looking for in the sizes needed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks girls....Nikki

@nikki1166

I was in Grand Rapids today for some things unrelated to Gina. But before I left town I decided I was going to treat myself.  Being aware that Target has a reputation for being trans-friendly, I went in there.  Picked up a basket and started shopping in a store full of people.

As Gina, I looked through the sports bras, then moving on, I found the hosiery display.  Took my time, this one, that one, checked the size guide on the packages, and picked out a lovely pair of sheer lace-top, hold-up stockings.  Checked some of the others, but didn't buy any other stockings in spite of a nice selection.

Went back to the bras and checked some others but I remember someone recommended Fruit of the Loom tank style sports bras but Target didn't have those.  I looked through the cosmetics and picked out some lipstick and foundation.  I remember reading the tutorials for girls like me that are new to makeup. Finished up by browsing the eye shadows and bought some that I thought would be good.

Took my few things and went through check out.  Wow.  Fun!  My first time shopping in public for myself!

I also shopped at Walmart, found two sports bras, and a ladies camisole.  In cosmetics, again, lipstick and mascara.

Happy happy happy.  I love being a woman.

@nikki1166 I buy all my stocking & tights from thetightspot in UK, free shipping, size that fit 6' and up. Plus a wide range in price.

I have bought lots of stockings from VS and department stores. Most lingerie shops sell them and I just bought several pairs while I was in France. There are many options on the internet like headroom.com, but there are also a few online retailers that specialize in hosiery.

For any hosiery other than pantyhose, online retailers are the way to go.  Some examples I have purchased stockings from are : hosieree.com  stockinggirl.com  simplyclassichosiere.com  whatkatiedid.com  and even Amazon.

I just love stockings & a good guess would be about 30 to 40 pair in my collection .. even have some with my name personalized on the welt.

My goto hosiery is Target's house brand.  I have tried several brands from different retailers.  For me, most brands were either too long in the leg if the panty fit properly or  too small in the panty area if the leg length was correct.  Target's house brand, however, was the appropriate balance between the panty and leg length. I also like the variety of styles and color available.  The price is also good balance.

Hi Nikki,

Not sure how tall you are or if you’re looking for larger sized hosiery but you can look at the Hanes Brands web site for pantyhose and tights.  I used to shop at their outlet store and you could find some excellent sales.  And the staff was terrific. Lane Bryant and Torrid might be a good shop to check for larger sizes especially during a sale.

I have got my tights (pantyhose) from Walmart. I am 6'3" and haven't had a problem with them being too small.
