Hello ladies...
I'm going to keep this as short as possible.....
Tonight I was watching the Euro Championship match between Denmark and Finland on TV.....and the Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen literally collapsed and died!!!!
His team mates surrounded him making a human wall to give him some dignity as he was given CPR and a defibrillator was used on him....you could see his body jerking as they fought desperately to save him......omg
I sat in shock but as the cameras showed his distraught wife being consoled by two of his team mates....I started sobbing.....I have never seen anything like it in my life....
The good news.....the medical staff managed to revive him and his condition is stabilized and he is awake in hospital.....a real miracle....and GOD BLESS THOSE MEDICS XXX
I am now sitting watching Stevie Nick's in concert, but I'm still pretty numb and teary......
Just for tonight, what colour panties I prefer has paled into insignificance......
a very very shocked Grace x.
Life is very fragile. Appreciate every minute and love those around you!
Hugs to you Grace and all sisters on CDH,
Eva
Hi Grace
I did not see that game as i was out this afternoon, but when i came home and checked the score i could not believe the news.
its such good news that he's recovering
I was considering posting something on here about the Euros, but after that i thought i would not be appropriate,
I hope he make a full recovery
Emily
This just shows how precious life is. I am sure we send our love and prayers to Christian and his family, and hope Christian is soon on the road to recovery.
What was disgusting Celeste was that other officers stood by and allowed it to happen. All those officers should have been tried for murder. I know the public were there but how do you intervene in what is effectively a legal armed gang. It was sickening and disgusting to watch.
Grace, as you probably know, my security job at our hospital mostly takes lace in our ER. I was quite shocked the first couple of times I stood at the door to a room while they performed CPR on a patient. Most people do not realize just how physical actual CPR is on both the patient and the staff performing it. Most see it on a medical TV show as little pushes on the characters chest, almost nudges really, and then everything is fine.
My job during a Code Blue (cardiac arrest) is to make sure the family is moved away from the room to a waiting area so they do not have to watch how rough it actually is while it is happening, and also to keep other ER patients from 'rubbernecking' and trying to see what is going on. Most CPR attempts actually end up with one or two ribs actually broken during the compressions because of how hard they have to push to pump the blood through the body.
In the classes we attend at the hospital, I have learned that only 6 to 10% of ANY CPR is actually successful, and it is something that we have been told to never mention to family while it is happening to a loved one. That players teammates were probably with his wife to keep her from actually seeing what was being done.

It seems odd how sometimes real life and the tragedies surrounding life intrude on our small desires
. I had planned on tomorrow going out in short shorts and a tank top to get a little sun on the pale areas of my arms and legs. Then about noon today I took a fall and nearly lost an eye, at least with all the blood it looked that bad. So I guess I will spend much of the day with my grand daughters instead
Sorry I don't mean to compare my small injury to someone nearly loosing their life.
. . Sandy
Im sorry, for the player, and the trauma this has caused, all over the world.
As a long haul trucker all over North America, and a trained first responder, I have seen more deaths, critical injuries, and human life changed for ever, than I would ever wish on anyone.
When training for first aid, we are told, that we WILL break ribs, the force required to "pump" the heart is more than the ribcage is meant to handle.
We are also taught, that ALL life is precious,
I dont mean to downplay the miracle that happened, and I commend the medics, for the training, and successful outcome of their work. Good on them.
Value every minute we have, ladies, Life is so precious, even when it's bad, it's better than the alternative.
Hugs, Regi👸💕
- I agree, it's a sad but true state of affairs.

Sandy...
Oh gosh, get better soon honey. any injury is a shock to the person/people involved....
take care, grace xx
Hi Emily.
I think the shock is mainly how a super fit athlete in the prime of his career can just collapse.....it really does show it can happen to anyone, and just how precious life really is....
Huggs, grace xx
Thank you Eva....xx
I saw it on the BBC website just after and was just stunned. His team-mates were fantastic forming a wall round him to give tlhin and the medics the privacy they needed and huge respect to them.
Was a relief that get the update he was stable but the media scrum that followed in talking about how his career was over and talking to cardiologists etc was just disgusting - (Sky news were the worst!).
Hi Mandy ...hope you are both well...
Yes...the depths the " media" will plummet to, never fails to amaze...
Huggs, grace xx
Gosh Sandy, glad you are OK sweetie. Enjoy your great granddaughters lol Amanda xx
