So only a couple days and the amount of people welcoming me has been great! So now I'm on the quest to lose weight and not a diet but a life change,Keto had been good so far, God I miss bread, lol. Just want to get any ideas and or suggestions that may help. I have a long way to go but I must get there not only for cute outfits but for long term health benefits. So any advice is greatly appreciated, Thanks so much. 🙂
Salt. Salt. Salt. You pee a lot on keto. Don't be afraid of fats. Avoid all vegetable oils, and margarine.
I noticed, lol drinking around a gallon of water a day. Although I need to do that anyway. Thank you so much
I hope you get to your goal Hon.
Hugs, Liara
My wife lives on keto due to having her thyroid removed for cancer. There are a lot of great recipes that are just as good, if not better than the carb versions. I even get pizza! I am not on full keto, but do eat low carb due to health issues.
Keto or not, I highly recommend avoiding vegetable oils and margarine, especially margarine, very bad for your health in general, along with processed sugar.
My wife runs a strictly non-commercial keto recipe and shopping group on Facebook, if it does not violate the rules, I will post a link here for anyone interested. It's amazing what she can make that is low/no carb.
You can also look into juicing these days they aren’t to expensive to buy a juicer a favorite juice 🥤 I like to drink is: carrot and celery and a apple 🍎 make sure to buy a book that was written by jay the juice man,, it has all the different types of recipes that your body needs All the best & you are right,,, don’t look at it as a diet but rather a,,,,,, life change!! Kara 👠🎀
I joined a site called eative, they provide a meal plan and information. Mostly I just have to stick to it and not cheat. If I see bread I just have to remember, it's the devil! LOL
Feel free to PM me, would love to see it 🙂
I will definitely look into this, thanks so much! I already have a ninja so time to find some books.
PM sent
Krystina,
I use an app called MyFitnessPal to watch my weight. It is a calorie based system. Take a look at it and see if it might interest you. It is a free app.
By the way, I love the spelling of your name.

This is what I’ve been using, too. I don’t have to give up any particular food group, just track my caloric intake. I’ll admit, I’ve kinda taken it to the extreme, but I’ve lost 35 pounds in just nine weeks (I know, not the recommended pace). I’ve also walked/jogged 1-4 miles about 5 times per week, on average. I’ll up my calories after I reach my goal to a maintenance level.
Hi Krystina, good for you for working to keep your weight under control. Like I said in another post, I was up to almost 200 lbs a few years ago, and finally got upset enough to do something. So, although I've read about a number of diets, I did the standard things of reducing my intake, switching (but not totally) to healthier foods, and exercising. I lost almost 30 pounds over about 9 or so months...and then relaxed it a little especially with covid as the gym I belonged to had shut down. I understood at least for me, that slow and steady seems to work best
My weight has inched up since then about 6-8 pounds, so I'm back at it, and this time, I going to lose at least 10 to 15...if not more. I know it will be harder especially now around the holidays as I love the turkey and sides that my spouse prepares (as well as a number of holiday goodies), but I'm back to daily exercising at the gym, and trying to cut back on the worthless but delicious junk I do enjoy.
Hi Kristina.
Good luck with the keto, but it sounds awfully harsh ...and does not sound a good idea long term. maybe after a period you could alter it to something more manageable.
Personally I'm a great believer in reducing your portion size and exercising regularly.
Instead of totally cutting out, you can try cutting down, and it's still possible to lose weight. We eat every day and it need not be boring.

Steph....
"Just cut out, if you can, puddings, pies, pastries, biscuits and cake"...
...and no bacon sandwich!!?....
Oh gosh....good luck with that one...I would have to settle for a smaller slice of cake or maybe a smaller pudding...but none 😭😭!!
