Ladies, I’m sure you all know, over here in ‘Merca today is the day our country and many others go absolutely bonkers over a football game. A small group of men putting on skin tight spandex and special clothing and pads to pretend they’re something other than their regular everyday selves for a few hours. Remind you of another group? Ring a bell?🥰 (Note: If you failed to guess the correct group you will be asked to turn in your CDH card immediately!)🤣

With that out of the way….whatcha gonna do today to celebrate the big game? Myself, I will be underdressed to some degree, celebrating with fellow ball players and their spouses. A manly gathering to which I will contribute my famous “Hot and Spicy” chicken wings. There will be more food there than is humanly possible to eat. Grace will have to be on her guard and very diligent to stay in her lane and only eat things to make her even more lovely than she is now….LOL!!!!🤣😂

My questions regarding this over the top event that I like to call “The Stupid Bowl” are…anyone watching or celebrating in DRAG??? Underdressed with your unsuspecting bros in drab? Are you bringing any food and if so, what? Anything unusual about your observance of the event? Anyone going to a watch party with their fellow sisters? I’ll guess that many girls here are ignoring it. Or using this day to go shopping or hit the thrift stores. Probably the best time to go out publicly would be today. Stupid Bowl Sunday has been amped up to such great heights that it is a wonder to behold and impossible to take it all in.

As for me, I don’t care who wins, (Go Eagles.) All I’m here for is the laughs and entertainment value. America on display in all her glory today. But gosh durn it sure would be fun to get together and watch, eat and socialize at a Super Bowl “Trannies Only” Party. Can’t you just picture it now? “Yell at the TV in your fem voices girls!”….🥰

@gracepal Well, we got snow last night. In about an hour I'll be suiting up quite differently to clear the way. After that it will be time for a shower and a cocktail, dinner prep and considering the start time most likely my nightgown and slippers to sit back, relax and watch the commercials, I love the commercials.

@gracepal  Hi ladies. I will watch the Superbowl game at home with my wife and I will be dressed en femme, as I am now. At over three hours it takes far too long to play 60 minutes; I read that the action is only about seven minutes.

We will have "champagne" just before the game, and egg nog that is left over from Christmas during the game.

I think that rugby is a far better game.

Go Eagles!

Best, Marlene.

Wait ... so these are actual Eagles, right? Isn't there a risk of them puncturing the ball?

I've always though that Cowboys versus Dolphins sounds like it would be a bit of a mismatch, unless you held it in an aquarium. Even then, one of the teams would be armed, which hardly seems fair.

Thoughtful

@ellyd22 The NFL requires all Eagles to have pregame manicures. That saves on having to replace so many footballs🤷‍♀️

That makes sense, thank you 🙂

Are there any special safeguards in place when it's Giants versus Jets? I'm imagining that you might need a specially large arena, and something to protect the crowd if a giant actually manages to bring one of the jets down.

@ellyd22 I am certain you are more clever than I, Ellie, so I’m forfeiting this match now. I have to get into “beast mode” and go watch Eagles attack Indians. 🤣It’s not as much fun as “getting my girl on”, but I still do enjoy it from time to time 🥰

@kerrismith Hi Kerrie, some words dont travel all that well. Down here in OZ "rooting" has a very different meaning. Let me put to to you this way. If you were "rooting"even one member of that team you support, they would need to "exhibit willingness to participate", otherwise you could be charged with a very serious crime!!

If you got as far as maybe even half of the team, you would be very... very.... tired and very... very... sore in certain delicate parts of your anatomy.

"LOL!!!!!

@sf So, Ms Staci Gal, I’m guessing then that you won’t really be trying to watch the 6 Nations Rugby currently under way over this side of the pond. It’s a good (and real) game though, and they don’t wear all those odd cycling helmets and flak jacket stuff, and their legs are sooo muscular, they don’t need Mr Blobby trousers (pants, leggings, whatever they’re called). If you are interested and can get it on US television, it’s quite a good time to watch, because (quite simply) England (🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿)(pronounced ‘Ingurland’ btw) are doing verrry well, whereas Wales (🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿)(pronounced ‘Coomri’), Scotland (🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿)(pronounced ‘haggis’) and France (🇫🇷)(pronounced ‘ooo-la-laaa’) aren’t!!! But that’s not that important. (Ohhh yesss it izzzz!!!). Lol.

@valentina16 Back when I was young and stupid I played rugby. I wasn’t very good but you really have to be in good shape to play it because the action is non stop. The best part of it was the after game party at the pub.

@irishgal a well deserved win by a now indomitable Ireland. My only claim to fame in rugby was my ‘B’ side beat the select ‘A’ team, just as I predicted they would do at the beginning of the season (I was a junior coach and referee). Oh, and I once held the gents toilet door open for Gavin Hastings. Fame indeed.

Yes, if I’m honest, I was a little surprised England managed to squeeze through.

Lagavulin. Nice. A little peaty but nice. 💚

@gracepal Football (our soccer) is a gentleman’s game played by hooligans; rugby is a hooligan’s game played by gentleman. Yeah, there’s a lot of people play/support soccer but a substantial amount play-support rugby. The game used to be amateur but was then made professional; bodies grew & grew in size and muscle. One main difference is there is total and utter respect for a rugby referee, only the captain is allowed to talk to the referee. If you haven’t seen a game, try to watch Ireland v France, Saturday 8 March, 14:15 our time, 8:15 yours? It will be a humdinger.

@sf Me neither, I really don't watch any sports either, professional or otherwise. I am completely satisfied hearing the results. I dress, as always, in whatever femme clothes I decide on at the start of the day. Today, it happens to be colourful leggings and a pink tank top. I will find a nice movie to watch when all the madness starts.

It always amazes me that all the herd that watch this kind of stuff expect you to be interested in it too. LOL

I DON'T WATCH SPORTS, UNLESS YOU CALL FIGURE SKATING OR BALLROOM DANCING A SPORT. THE CLOSEST TO SPORTS I GET IS A SOCCER GAME AND I'M NOT GOING OUT OF MY WAY TO WATCH THAT EATHER. I GOT BETTER THING TO DO THAN WATCH SOMEBODY GET TOO MUCH MONEY TO PLAY A GAME BECAUSE SOME FANS WILL PAY STUPID PRICES FOR A SEAT.

@prettytoes I do tend to agree about having better things to do.  I used to religiously watch the NFL every Sunday, and Monday night, then Thursday night, then Saturday after baseball season was over.  I had to know what was going on in what division and who was in first place.  Every game was a really important game, but when I stopped watching religiously, WOW! I realized how much I actually get done in the time I used to sit around and watch football. It is crazy to think how much time it takes to follow it that closely.  This year, I only watched the AFC/NFC championship games, and I got a LOT more done around the house. Smile Face

@patricia1970 Same here Patricia. Most of my friends are all caught up in the nonsense so I put up with it once a year. I just love all the gravitas and seriousness these fans and media apply to it all. Beyond ridiculous for me anymore. For awhile I would grab the 10 minute YouTube highlights for the 49ers, (40-whiners). But that even got tired. Besides, if I waste time with that I might miss something more important. Like a post on CDH from one of my gal pals 😆

For me firing up the Bar-B-Q has always been a must, but the weather has been pretty bad this last week, so I am going with Philly Cheesesteak  sandwiches this year. The weather looks pretty good today, but now that I have the cheesesteak sandwiches in mind, I think I want to try something new.

As far as the game goes, go Eagles.  I think the Chiefs won too many and need to go away.

I understand it is a major event in the U.S.of A and it gets coverage here too. I am sure it is a great event and obviously enjoyed by millions but not for me.

It's a bit alien to a U.K. lass whose only equivalent is the game of Rugby which has a competition on at the moment. Two teams of physically strong men with only gumshields for protection battering each other for two forty minute halves played straight with only a short break in the middle. The total play time lasting about one hour.

U.S. football as I understand it has umpteen teams bedecked in padding, helmets and face guards. Each play has a different team who is on for a short while before coming off. Not exactly tiring or testing stuff. Four quarters of fifteen minutes with 12 minutes break halfway yet seems to take about three hours long to conclude.

One guy just comes on kicks a ball and goes off, nice work if you can get it. As you see I am not a fan of sport and wouldn't last five seconds on a field running in heels isn't a good thing and wouldn't want to spoil my makeup.

Many years ago, "American football" was being explained to a person not from the United States.  After the explanation the person said, I don't understand, all fall down, all get up, all fall down again. I understand completely.  Smile...

I for one gave up on professional US sports a long time ago, wasted time and overpaid wannabe celebrities- I do support college hockey and lacrosse. Snowy wintry day here in New England my leggings helped keep me nice and warm while snowplowing- took a shower changed panties and leggings etc and off to a chamber music performance

Spent the day at home just my wife and I, I was underdressed in panties for the day.  We watched the puppy Bowl which is really cute, love watching the pups play. Then onto the game, which this year was pretty good. The officiating was the best I've seen in awhile, yes there were some questionable calls but not as many as there could have been.

I agree with many of the comments about overpaid celebrities - grown men playing a kids game for nauseating amounts of money. That is another topic for another time.

@cdsue Ah, the morning after the big game. Now I recall why I stopped watching any football whatsoever. You could make a strong case for that one being the worst SB of all time. All of it - from the game itself and the commercials, most of which leave me scratching my head. To the halftime show. That was a show? What passes for entertainment today? Sucked isn’t a bad enough word for that “performance”. But I try not to cuss.

However the food, and especially my wings, were stellar and I brought home zero leftovers.

No more “Stupid Bowls” for this lady. Bring on the “Tranny Bowl” next for year🥰

Since it occurs in the middle of the night here in the UK, I only watch the first half (two quarters) and the half-time show.

In recent years, I have generally stopped watching after the first two minutes of the HTS since the people they have on are less than interesting and I don't think they've had a decent artist since Shakira and JoLo did it in 2020. Last nights drivel with Kendrick Lamarr rolling out a load of randon syllables, while dressed like he'd just been fixing his car, was a real low point for me and a far cry from the previously mentioned Shakira and JoLo, and in earlier times, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Maroon 5, Lady Gaga, and even, at one point, The Who.

I don't know who picks the half-time artists but I feel they have some political axe to grind to the detriment of the overall event.

Of course, I'm just an ignorant Englishman who probably doesn't understand the nuances of this whole occasion, but I know what I like.

I do quite like Amercian Football (putting aside the fact that the ball is hardly ever actually kicked) but my favourite US sport is baseball if I get the chance and I have, some years ago, been to a game at Fenway Park to see the Boston Red Sox play; I rather enjoyed that.

@rebeccabaxter I forgot the Who did one. That was the last good one IMO. Jay-Z and Apple are responsible for the halftime acts now and that’s all you need to know. Actually most of the entire 3 plus hours is political and agenda driven dogma anymore. Very little actual “sports”. America has once again taken a great idea initially and then beaten it to death. Ah well, I don’t have to watch it. Yeah, bring on baseball by all means.😊

I just wish it was easier to watch over here without forking out a large quantity of money every month for the privilege. I pay a subscription for MotoGP as I like bike racing and that's all I can justify for the time I have available to watch TV.

@robinroxburyobinroxburyebeccabaxter 99% of the sports I view is on YouTube.  I follow the Giants and A’s since I’m a former Bay Area boy. Sure, it’s not live as it happens - but who has the two-plus hours to spend at inconvenient times during the day? Every morning I get the 10 minute wrap up of the previous days games. Highlights only. Perfect.

Going to the party for the “Stupid Bowl” the other day just reinforces that for me it’s the best way to go. No commercials, no politics, no long boring stretches, no “messages” and no bs. Just the game.

How about that Mason Miller, pitcher for the A’s? 😎
