I've been with my boyfriend Charles since August 6 2020 . That's not the day we met , that's the day Linda came around . I use that date as our anniversary date .
Throughoutour relationship there has been another family member I have gotten to know . "Jerry ".
Jerry ( who I sometimes call Handsome ) is an 11 year old , part Yorķshire part Scottish terrier . When Charles would visit my place Jerry would come along . He was there when Charles first met Linda .
He and I have become very close friends . He accepted me right from the start ,sitting right next me while Charles and I talked about my crossdressing .
Jerry has seen me in drab and couldn't care less . But when Linda comes around we are inseparable .I asked Charles if maybe he misses his ex wife , he said she didn't like him much . It's me he likes and I love him right back . He follows me everywhere upstairs , outside even to the bathroom . Always on my lap or leaning on my leg. Charles asked how I put up with it . I love it . He makes me feel wanted , part of the pack .
Charles has a small place in the woods we go to some weekends . That's where Handsome really shows his love . He is there to protect me. He barks at everything birds , chipmunks even a falling leaf.
I have since moved in with Charles and the 3 of us are doing great . I work from home so me and Jerry spend a lot of time together . He'll sometime wake me up with a lick on the cheek or on my toes . Or just crawl under the covers with us .
During the day I have someone to talk to ,I let him know my schedule and this might sound crazy but I ask for his opinion . I don't always get an answer but I'll ask Handsome what to make for dinner or which top or shoes to wear .
He is always there for me . He never gets mad at me . When I'm worried about something he knows . If I'm sad , sick or tired he knows and if I get angry he's right there with a lick or a rub and I feel better .
Tell me that's not support .
Thanks
Xoxo

Well Linda, obviously Jerry has picked up that you are a warm friendly person. Animals seem to be able to pick up and sense which humans to trust and which ones not. Animals are known to be extremely therapeutic and indeed often used to aid recovery. Yes animals are a form of support, and often extraordinarily can understand our emotions and behaviors too. Glad to hear
your relationship is moving forward and wish you both well for the future xx

Hi Linda...

As many others will confirm, dogs can be wonderful companions. It's great that you ask his opinions on your outfits and shoes....I take it he usually agrees....it could be the end of a beautiful friendship if he disagrees......and pee's on your heels!!!!.

I had a Jack Russell a long time ago now....raised from a pup, and we were so close, I'm sure he could read my mind.....

Love dogs....

grace xx

Linda,

You are so lucky to have two wonderful men in your life. Dogs are amazing and my wife and I can’t live without one. We have an 11 year old shepherd and a 5 month old white lab. Oh how I wish I could share photos.

You are so right about how they feel about us. They love unconditionally and I don’t care what anyone says; they know how I feel and act accordingly. Whether it’s extra snuggles or kisses or knowing when I need alone time they know!

Please give handsome a belly rub for me (Jerry, not Charles).

💖💋🐶

I have had that bond with several different four legged friends that have passed. Reading your post put tears in my eyes

Hi Linda, I still miss my Paige, a lab/collie cross who almost made it to 15 years old.  She passed in January and was my constant companion.  I talked to her more than my spouse.  She never cared what outfit I wore.  Her photo is my computer screensaver.

After the mud of the spring rains goes away, I'll visit the local animal rescue shelter and save a senior dog.  Puppies usually go quickly while the poor senior dogs are sometimes in the shelter for over a year.  They need love, hugs and belly rubs too.  Starting to tear up,

Have a lovely rest of the week, All the Best, Hugs, Krista.

My wife calls me the dog whisperer as I love them and they all seem to like me.

Years ago I was working on a construction site and parked next to my work truck was a pickup with a huge German Shepard. Throughout the day I would walk by and he would growl. I talked to him and he started sticking his head out the window and giving me a sniff or two when I went by. Before long I was scratching his ears and loving him up like we were old friends. One time when I was out there loving him up the owner came out and saw and about flipped out! He hollered at me that the dog will bite. I just told him not me, we are buddies. By this time the owner of the dog was standing next to me and was very surprised that I was loving up his vicious dog.

Another time I walked into a shop and this Rottweiler came charging at me. I just put my arms out and said "What?" and he skidded to a halt. The owner came up and saw what happened and said he had never done that before, but then most people were back outside by then! Next thing I know the Rotty nudges me with his nose and gives me his tennis ball, he wanted to play fetch. The owner just stood there and shook his head.

Beautiful story nothing like the best companion to have is a Dog to help you through the days.  Own a Doberman goes almost everywhere I go. Name is Lady. Think she brings me luck with dates in way likes a person or don't like them.

Happy about your relationship and continue moving forward both  of you.

Hugs

Donna
