This morning I sat looking out my window watching the morning star fade as the sun came over the horizon, bringing forth a new day. Dawn is my favorite time of day and I asked myself when the last time was that I enjoyed the beauty of the rising sun. We so often get caught up in the daily challenges and demands of life that we tend to take the small things for granted. I wish all of the people who enjoy CDH a great day and encourage everyone to take time to appreciate the small things that can can bring so much peace, even if it's only for a few moments.
Good call Gina, In this oh so hectic world we get so wrapped up in what we're doing we miss out on the special things. I had a couple of health issues about 5 years ago and under a doctors suggestion I retired 3 years ago and have learned to appreciate the finer and sometimes the smaller things in life. As the old saying goes, take time to stop and smell the roses.
Thanks for an awakening thought. Take care, Heather.
great words of wisdom. i had open heart surgery about 8 years ago and on s.s.d the rest of my life and i am only 54, i was 46 years old when i went on s.s.d. i find time to see the ski and enjoy life as much as i can. do what i want to do and dont have to worry about a boss over my shoulders. the rain we had today was hell but watching the lightning and rain coming down and see what mother nature can do is something to see with your own eyes. enjoy the beautiful things in life.
Great advice for all of us, Gina.
Thamks for the reminder.
I try to do that every chance I get. I don't always succeed in finding something wonderful, but it's the searching that keeps me alive.
I couldn't agree more, Gina. I got back from a weekend trip to Germany yesterday afternoon and on the way, I noticed a fascinating sunset and it was full of bright fiery reds, oranges, brown and yellows. Another thing that brings me real pleasure and that is to listen to the soothing sound wood pigeons.
Great advice, remember when all looks dark then look up and see the stars shining through. Enjoy life and enjoy who we are. I cant describe how much CDH has lifted my spirit and for me has been my dawn and sunset all in one. Keep up the great support girls, we are all beautiful like a sunset.
I love little fuzzy pups, crisp mountain air, babbling brooks, Aurora Borialis, sunset and sunrise. The whine of the turbine, the wop wop wop wop of the blades, the chill in the spine as we lift off, the lush green rice paddies, my brothers at my side, are the thrills that matter. In the continium of time and life, very little else "don't mean nothin" at lifes' end. All our efforts at work, building monuments, hopes and dreams, striving, conniving, coveting, accumulating are all meaningless in the end. What matters is the small things.....children before they learn to hate, the soft nighttime sighing of a loved one, feeling their warm skin on ours, a good meal surrounded by friends and a life where we don't have to live up to others expectations and demands. We want to be accepted for what we are and what we enjoy (within reason). We want to be allowed a peaceful night to see the moon and hear the howls of the wolves and smell the crisp pine scented air and the crackle of the fire. We want to wear what we wear.
Let us BE and at PEACE. FREEDOM. Lady Victoria Graunwolf
