In a few other conversations I have mentioned my favorite item of clothing is bras. I'm up to the highest count for me at a dozen. <giggles>

I picked up a Torrid "shirt bra" sort of like a sports bra with no shaping or very little. It has skulls on it. Hey, I can pretend I'm trendy - right? I really like it and another great thing, under a hoodie no one would know. I sort of accidentally proved that.
With my SO - it is DADT - and don't "flaunt" whatever that means. Sorry I digress...

I have been shopping at Poshmark lately - not the cheapest but then again not the most expensive. There are way too many bras on there that I love. I've gotten a few that I am really fond of. But the one I got yesterday is top of the heap now. I can just look at it and feel happy but putting it on - wow! Top of the charts. A bra is that item that when I put it on I feel the most femme, calm and happy. It's like the hug I've always wanted. But more. Almost ethereal.

It's a Cacique in a yellow flowered pattern, front clasp (my first) with the straps and lace going across your back similar to a racerback(?). I'm in love. The front hook, the brilliant colors, the straps across the back. Ahhh... It's like I want to tell it "where have you been all my life"? LOL.

I just had to tell someone. Thank you for letting me share. Comment as you like - tell me your current "absolute" favorite!

PS I have another Cacique coming with front hook - read & black. Ha ha!

@danirost Wearing bras is the most feminine thing you can wear. I wear one 24/7 except for shower time. I wear forms most of the time also, except sometimes sleeping time to give my chest a rest. Currently my favorite brand is Auden from Target. They are sized in small, medium, large etc instead of band and cup size.

I agree that a bra is the most feminine item to wear. It is the one go to item I wear every day. I'd wear them at night were it not for my SO  getting upset when I do so. Initially she found that off-putting but over time she has come to accept me in nylon nighties and lays them out for me and packs them if we travel, so with that level of support I don't complain!

I prefer clasping my bras in the back, as becoming adept in that maneuver seems to me part of the experience and I somehow find that more ladylike. However, the women I know clasp them in front and swirl them around... while easier and a better bet to catch the proper clasps together it seems like cheating to me.

I'd be curious to know what others prefer.. front clasp, back clasp, or no clasp. It might be a good poll question.

To be honest, I would love more front clasp bras because they are so convenient.

However, of the few that I have my forms fall out and they have come undone a few times. Not great in practice, so far. Keep your shirt tightly tucked into your skirt, so that you don't lose a form or two.

No clasps usually don't have a way of keeping my breast forms in a proper location with well defined cups. The forms migrate. Not a good look. If the bra's band is not tight enough, forms can fall out of the bottom. Keep your shirt tightly tucked into your skirt, so that you don't lose a form or two.

So that leaves... back clasp bras.

@rhondalee Because of my arthritis I clasp my bra before I put it on and pull it over my head.

@rhondalee fastening the clasp at the back feels much more authentic. Even when a woman fastens at the front, it seems wrong to me!!

@loneleycd I envy you being able to wear them 24x7. When I'm away in a hotel, I usually wear a no wire soft one under my nightgown.

@danirost I'll admit, I do love the Torrid front clasping "t-shirt" bras as they seem to go with anything. I have a couple of the Cacique bras, but they are all the back hook style - I recently had a shoulder injury that makes it impossible to reach "back there" anymore, so the front clasps are my go to.

@lindyntx I have both forms and a breast plate.  I prefer the plate to show a little cleavage and it feels so much more natural with a bra.

@emily2626 I do as well, but tend to use the forms more. They are more comfortable to me, especially in this Texas heat and humidity.

@lindyntx I love Torrid bras. That was my favorite brand but then I got some Cacique that fit and this newest one has blown my mind. I feel so GOOD wearing it.

@danirost; There's always something about finding that "new" bra or other item of feminine clothing that makes us giddy from our head to our toes and it becomes the special treasure in our closet or dresser drawer.

Oh Dani, there's nothing more feminine than a well fitting bra. Except maybe heels. And a nice dress. Girly hair. Makeup. Stockings and a suspender belt. Nails. Oh stop it Chrissie! xx.

I love all my bras. My smaller cup push up bras which I can wear without forms. I've got enough up top to form some cleavage. And my larger cup bras for my forms look great under my clothes. I also have been unable to find a nice fitting front closure bra, but I have no problem hooking up in the back. I love talking under things Wink

Much as O love bras and I've got plenty of them, my favourite is hosiery, I love wearing them over freshly smooth legs

@annaredhead I finally have discovered that thrill. And best of all my leg hair grows super slow. But bras will always be my fave. 😍

Dani -

How wonderful for you, finding a bra that fits is so nice.

I must agree that wearing a bra is a very femme thing. I have front closure, back closure an pull over bras and love them all. The front closure ones I have I got from Woman Within (I love that name) and they have eight hook and loop clips. My bras are either B cup or stretch cups to mold to the body. I come close to filling the B cups and the others just mold to me. I don't have breast forms but do have breast enhancers I will wear sometimes for a cleaner look in some of my dresses. I went to Torrid once and got a bra fitting and was told I'm a 44B, it is nice having my own breasts, I'm sur it is because of age and meds but no matter why they are mine and I love them.

XOXO
Suzanne

@cdsue I will have to check them out. The more hooks the better. I will actually pick one bra over another just because of the number of hooks.

I also favor a bra that does not require forms or enhancers. I like seeing I have enough natural shape to fill a bra. My go-to is an A cup that fits perfectly. But I'd like to have a bit more flesh so as to fill my Bs, which generally look better with enhancers. If I doll up to go out for an evening I will wear small forms, but I have no desire for more than that. I'd probably be ok with a size A form, but when I first went to a dressing service and selected a small form the lady and her boyfriend said "why bother?" which made me self-conscious so since then have worn forms sufficient to fill a B or, at most, a C. But I've sized down to bare flesh when at home alone or out in public and not dressed. Having enough to fill even a small cup is enough to make me happy.

@rozalyne Roz, you are so correct. I have the "new" one on now (my SO works part times in the morning and I work from home) and the world is just a better place. It totally centers me and I like to think it makes me think of myself as "pretty" (actually little to do with how I look - much more an attitude)

I have no trouble fastening a bra behind my back but I admit that long-line bras can be more difficult to do (with ten or more hooks and eyes) and it's really annoying if you miss one and have to unhook to put it right.

I don't have one, but there used to be quite a few long-line bras made with front fastening and I can see the attraction of that.  I did have a front fastening (not completely open) corselette and that made getting into it somewhat easier.

@lionel: I think long line bras with front fastening hooks & eyes look fine.

However; I do not like front fastening bras with the plastic clip in the middle. I prefer the band, the cups, and the werk (the piece of material that connects between the cups) to be all of the same material.

I think I must have about 20 bras now. They don’t all fit me but I love their look and feel.

I bought a new one last weekend. It’s a 36A “two sizes bigger” bra which fits perfectly and gives me super perky boobs without any need for inserts or forms. It’s also the first black one I’ve ever bought as I normally prefer bright white or pretty patterns. I had to get some black panties and glossy pantyhose to match. I don’t know whether the salesman worked me out or not - but it didn’t matter.

I can’t wait to wear them with a black shift dress I bought recently…!

@rhondalee I believe it is a bra that fits 36A breasts but has built in padding to present as a C cup.

@rhondalee it is very heavily padded so it would take an A cup to a C cup. It gives me boobs within the need for a form!

I do that a lot when wearing a dress or blouse. It doesn't look right without projection and shape. But I feel better if I don't add artificial shape but just an unpadded bra that shows what I have .not much, but it's all me , and aside from the fact most dresses and blouses look better with shape, not all women have much but still look good to me. So I feel I'm on the fem spectrum at least, without being artificial, which has its own pleasures. I feel I NEED a bra when wearing one without padding that can conform to what shape I have and not looking totally flat-chested.
