Hi girls....from a sun drenched England...yes...I said sun drenched!!!
After weeks of torrential rain, some places have had the wettest may on record. But we finished the month with a scorching bank holiday weekend....
Being British, of course some of us are now moaning about " the bloody heat"!!!!....another few days and we will probably have a hosepipe ban!!!😂😂😂.
I worked the bank holiday virtually right through, so I have a day off today....after a lovely long walk and a sit in the park, feeding the ducks......I'm back home, hot and bothered....
Sat in my lounge, just bra and panties, and the shortest boob tube dress, with my feet in a bowl of cold water.....facing my rotating fan.....which is set to warp factor nine...( It Cannae take much more Jim!!! )...
I have had a bowl of chocolate ice cream that dwarfed the iceberg that sank the Titanic ....and I'm cooking cooling down nicely.....
ROLL ON THE SUMMER!!!....every year we either rust or burn, so I thought I would ask you girls out there for tips.
What do you wear???...anything special to keep cool???
do any of you cool cats have other tricks for keeping cool???...some of you girls live in much hotter climes than I do....apart from air conditioning cos I don't have that.....
So, ideas just in case we have a summer here this year!!!!!
Deep fried grace xx
Simple, bikini and a pool!! It's what I do to stay cool!

Hello, Grace! In my member profile the public photo shows my sun dress and hat for a stroll in a public park on a warm day.
I covet your ice cream!! I’d look like the girl in an English children’s song:
My girl’s a corker / She’s a New Yorker / I do most anything to keep her in style / She has a pair of hips / Just like two battleships / ...
😂😂😂.....love the song !!!
and poetry too....wonderful x
I'm thinking short shorts (or short skirt), a padded bra instead of forms, and a cool airy top, either cotton or silk maybe (seersucker always feels cool)? And oh by the way, Cool for Cats by Squeeze is a cool song!
But I like my AC!

I would put on a soft flowy mini-dress and set the fan to impulse power, spray water mist into the air stream, feel the cool misty air, the flutter of my skirt, sleeve and pretend that I am at Niagara Falls. Hmmm, the kids are home, I wonder if there are any side effects if I set the phaser to stun?

Acclimatisation and shade are your friends, Grace. You can forget the first - much like me here in Ireland, so shade it is - sitting in the sun for too long is a guaranteed way to do somewhat more than 'glow'.
Of course, light floaty summer dresses help too. As do strappy tops and short skirts.
The briefness of summer sun is deserting us here tomorrow and the rain is making a not-so-welcome return for few days apparently. Great for the garden. Not so great for me. Ho hum.

What to wear?
Nothing. Nothing at all.
Okay, maybe sunscreen.
No tan line Clara
....into the 90's....oh gosh Celeste...too much for me!!!
I visited the Caribbean, and it was over 100.....we literally ran from shop to shop to get into the air conditioning... unbearable!!
When it's really hot, I always have rootbeer flavored popsicles in the freezer. My favorite cool treat!
Isabel....
it makes me smile....whenever the weather turns c**p, the first thing the weatherman says..." It's good for the garden"!
Note :- add to bucket list....MUST go shopping in hot weather with Clara x. 😂😂
Root beer is legendary...but it's something I have never had ...we have a fruity Ice lolly covered in sprinkles thats called a " fab"....
They are very nice.....there's also a screwball, but that's another story!!!
Sorry grace, my only suggestion is a/c; summer is my worst season as I despise any heat. Wifey wanted a/c in the house years ago so since having it, a/c is our only refuge from the summer heat.
Any consolation, as a kid my parents were too cheap to have a/c installed so I would do regular slurpee runs all summer to cool down.
