According to news articles that pop up on google, "they" say skinny jeans will not be on trend for 2021. "They" being the fashion houses, major marketers and manufacturers who have flooded the market with this item and gotten many of us to finally fill our closets with the variations they offered, thus slowing their sales.

So they want to trade back to some other style, push the adverts to try and get us to fill up on something else if they can, refilling "their" pockets.

I like my skinny jeans, and I know there others here that do as well. I wear them daily out and to work liking how they make me, my legs, and my butt look....and feel. If I wanted ill fitting, stiff and ikky feeling jeans I would have stuck with my drab work attire.

We're already bucking the system so dress as you like ladies. If it feels good, wear it.

I like my skinny jeans...and my leggings. As for my thoughts on the fashion experts: Recall the scene in "Young Frankenstein" between the Doctor and Igor...My name is Eyegor. But they've always pronounced it Egor. Well, then, they've always been wrong, hven't they?

I too like my skinny jeans.

Unfortunately, like millions of others I took up the baking hobby as a COVID distraction and I’m afraid it will be a while before there’s any hope of fitting back into those skinny jeans 🙂

I skipped the work and time involved in the baking part Marcellette and went straight to the eating it part. Thankfully I'm also much more active than usual too so although they are a bit snug, its still doable.

I just love ❤️ my skinny jeans and my wife really doesn’t like me to wear anything else. They really go good with my booties and boots. I do have other jeans with fuller legs but the fabric is stretchy and really makes my butt look good and she is okay with them. I have developed a look over time that I like and don’t really worry  about being fashionable but more about blending in..   Stephanie

Donna,

Funny you should mention that. I saw a twenty something young lady a few weeks ago wearing a pair of elephant pants, they looked pretty new and I have no idea where she would have found them. And....it wasn't even at walmart that I saw her lol

And some of us worry about blending in, Ha!

I guess you are more in the loop than me! But I agree, that is the way the industry works they come out with new stuff to get us buying that and then we send all of the old stuff away!

However, I'm with you, I might buy some new things I like, but I'll still keep the old stuff and wear it too!

"They" may go and engage in a certain activity with themselves..... creating artificial fashion trends so "they" may line "their" pockets with our money.  I'll keep my skinny jeans thank you very much, and if choose, maybe I'll buy other styles. ( I think I need to experiment with high rise jeans and crop tops, hehe... ) Honestly I'm not the coolest sister when it comes to fashion, but I like what I like. 🙂

Bad news Stevie, I'm sorry

High rise jeans and pants require the wearer to have hips, which I take from your past self descriptions, you lack. Trust me, from personal experience, its not a good look and I too would love to wear some of my cutesy crop tops, they're patiently hanging in the closet just waiting for day my non-baby bump magically disappears i guess lol

Aww shucks.  No Shania look for me then!  ( yeah, like I could do that anyway, lol!)  I was hoping the flat belly would be enough 😅.

I do like skinny jeans and the way they stretch makes them feel good and fit well. The stretchiness of my denim short skirts feels so good too. Why weren't men's jeans stretchy and this comfortable when I owned some?

For me, I like the low rise look. And, having the disadvangtage of starting with an apple shape, low rise anything fits better until my stomach is flat again (wishful thinking). But, it's impossible now to find low rise clothes, although they were everywhere just a few years ago. I may have to hit the thrift stores.

Stevie, I remember the high rise style from quite a while back. I never loved it but I'm going to try some too. Being tall some of my tops that, although not designed to be crop tops, are crops tops on me. So low rise skirts only make that more pronounced. And, how do you hide shapewear with that gap in the middle?

In fashion, I'm guided by what feels good and looks good on me.
