Before I dish about my third time at the Nail salon....
I finally got some time off from work. I changed phones and as fate would have it, my laptop caught something that makes coronavirus look like a sniffle. Add to that I have been locked out of my special secret Autumn only email for over 4 months. As a result I had no access to my Autumn email (still don't) and being dependant on browsers for passwords...... I had no way to login. Luckily today I went back to work where I was working up until the new year and I found a notepad that I had scribbled the password on the inside of the back cardboard. So I apologize for seeming to have fallen off the earth.
I really missed you all.
So.....
The wife and I went Monday evening to the nail salon. My third trip with her. Kim was glad to see me. She had done my previous two mani-pedis and my third as well. My wife and I sat in chairs next to each other. We both selected lavender scented cream stuff.... I don't even know what it's called. Kim washed my feet and my ankles, shin and calves up to just below the knee and massaged the wonderfully smelling lavender creme on my lower legs. She placed both my feet into the whirlpool like bath. She raised one foot and scrubbed the calluses off and then lowered it back to the bath before repeating the process with the other foot. Then back to the first foot for cleaning the cuticles, and then the cuticles on the second foot. Next was a hot stone calf massage for each leg. Finally both legs got rinsed and dried. Then Kim applied the base coat to both sets of toes and then a really bright shade of red that I picked out. Kim carefully put my flips flops on (yes I brought my own) and I followed her to her table. Kim cleaned my fingernails (only a little old clear left from the last time I did them myself) and proceeded to clip my cuticles. Yes, I only got clear polish on my fingernails. While I was drying I indulged myself with a 10 minute back massage. They have special chairs for this instead of a table. You sit with your chest resting on padding at a out a 60 degree angle and they have a headrest with the donut hole for your face.
Simply heavenly.
There was a total of 3 other customers, all women, who didn't seem to notice me at all. I was wearing guy jeans and guy button down shirt with a red and maroon pattern on it.
If you haven't been to a nail salon you should treat yourself. You can always call ahead and find out what's a slow night/day, and maybe in some places ask if they accept male customers.
Do it. You deserve it.

I totally relate to your salon experience. I go about once a month for a pedicure and just love the experience. My feet look and feel way better since I started going. The salon is trans friendly and the lady that runs it knows about Emily. She's been really helpful for picking out polish that looks good on me. I'm partial to the Shellac brand by CDN. It lasts for weeks without chipping or fading.
Regarding your password issues, I wanted to suggest you start using a password manager. There are some free ones that are easy to use. You just have to remember one master password. Most employ a browser add-in and will auto-fill login pages for you. Lastpass is the one I use. It's saved me countless headaches with forgotten passwords and I'm no longer using the same password on multiple sites.

Computers! We love them, we hate them, but we sure do need them.
I have been to nail salon twice. Just for a manicure, but a good experience both times. I went after work during the week. Both times the salon was not busy, and both times I was the only guy. Not intimidated at all. No pedi because my toes are really banged up from a lifetime of running.

Jessica some of my toenails are truly awful but look much better under a nice colorful nail polish. Even my wife has one that hangs on by a thread and falls off every year or so. The salon workers are used to it.

I am usually quite ocd about keeping multiple lists of passwords. I just wasn't keeping the Autumn related ones with everything else out of fear of discovery. Logically I know that the odds of anyone going through my passwords is one in a trillion.... But logic doesn't apply when it comes to this particular secret. I'll look into password managers. It's probably just the thing I need.
I use Sally Hanson Mega Strength polish at home. It lives up to the name. If they didn't grow I wouldn't need to paint them again after 2-3 weeks. The salon we go to uses Essie, OPI, and another one.. I didn't catch the brand name.

Once you do it I believe you will be surprised at how easy it was and how pleasant it was. That's how it was for me and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I haven't read about any salon disasters. Go for it.

Sounds lovely Autumn. My wife has asked me a few times to go with her and get my toes and fingernails worked on. Maybe as summer approaches this year I will give it a go. We missed you as well girlfriend. I am sure.
