Hello Ladies,
I just wanted to share an experience that I had today.
I was out and about doing a few errands and then having a pit stop for lunch.
Today I wore one of my denim skirt outfits, black leggings and Chelsea boots.
Anyway, as I was driving up to the supermarket a thought crossed my mind regarding what I would do if I met another CD or transgender person. Ladies, without any exaggertion whatsoever, when I pulled up at the front of the store a guy in a skirt walked by. I say a guy in a skirt as he was wearing a knee-length, pleated swirly skirt and what appeared to be ladies' sandals; his legs were bare. He also wore a man's short-sleeved top and a safari type hat. He had a grey beard.
I must add at this point that I too am easy to spot... I don't kid myself that I pass, but my outfits are entirely feminine.
Well, I don't think that this gentleman intended to be crossdressing, he seemed to be just a guy who has found out what we have known all along and that is that it is a lot more fun to wear a skirt than it is to wear trousers.
I think that we should be thankful for guys like him as I'm sure that they make it easier for girls like us.
As for what I would do, well, if I had met him coming towards me I'm sure I would have just nodded and said, "Hi!" which is the way that everyone greets me.
Thanks for Listening,
Aurora Eden
Hi Aurora,
I live in an area that could be called a college town. In the summer and fall it is commonplace to see College age men wearing a skirt. It seems possible that some have found a skirt is more comfortable than shorts.
Alice
Hi Alice,
You are correct, of course, that a skirt is much more comfortable than shorts.
Hugs,
Aurora
There is now a line of clothing for men, called the utilikilt. They are growing in popularity, as a lot of men are discovering the freedom of a skirt without calling it a skirt. (They don't meet the definition of a kilt, but let's keep that our little secret).
I've wondered at times how many are bought by closet crossdressers, or ones still in denial.
Hi Dianne,
I had not heard of utilikilts before and, as you say, they sound like they offer many opportunities.
The skirt the guy I mentioned was wearing was definitely a woman's skirt though.
I would think that he just wants to dress the way he wants to without observing the artificial barriers that divide male and female clothing.
It was good to see him walking around so boldly.

There is a guy in my neighborhood that I have seen several times wearing a skirt. All of his other attire is male. There is no attempt to appear female.
I do not cross dress near my home, so each time I have seen him, I have been in drab. I have never attempted any sort of communication with him. I am not sure of what or of anything to say
When I was catching the train to work, there was a young guy who always wore a skirt or dress.
No makeup, usually runners not heels, and he got off the train near the uni precinct, so I suspect he might be a uni student.
No-one hassled him, and kudos to him, he just totally 'owned' his look and choice.
More power to him.
(BTW, there a few sites out there and youtube channels and pinterest re 'men in skirts. 'Skirtcafe' being one. Yes I had also heard of 'Utilikilts').
Utilikilts have definitely become a thing. I agree with Diane Lambert that this is really a skirt and not a kilt. I saw a guy with his family one morning wearing a "kilt", but really it didn't meet the criteria for a kilt, but it was nothing out of he ordinary in terms of the setting for that day at that time of day, but it was just him and his family out for a walk. I wish others would take th e opportunity to just do what they feel like he did, myself included.
Interesting thread. A skirt is just the best! I’m curious though about the “guys in skirts” you’ve all been spotting - do they have bare hairy legs or any of them wearing leg coverings? People should be free to wear what feels good to them, but, while I have good legs, and keep them smooth, I’d never bare them in public. Gotta complete the picture with stockings.
Hi Misha,
The guy that I saw had not shaved his legs and they were very much a guy's legs.
As I have mentioned though, I do not kid myself that I pass. I do, however, always wear black leggings.
I do think that I have good legs, the leggings just make them look smoother and more feminine.

Aurora
Great to hear these anecdotes. Each one making what we do a little easier, the more who do it the less it will be seen as something abnormal❤️
Good news👍and there is not much of that about nowadays.
