Firstly, my searching skills aren't up to much so I hope there isn't already a thread like this that I've not managed to find!  But this sort of daily drop-in blog, for things that aren't really enough to warrant their own thread, seems to be quite popular on other forums I use.

So, what have you done today, ladies?  Perhaps while en femme, or motivated by your inner girl while in drab?  Or maybe something has occurred to you about CD life you'd like to share?

----------------------------

I'll drop in a starter 🙂

My Thursdays and Fridays are regular en femme opportunities, I stay the night at my house, where I also work.  Since waking up as Fiona today, I've mended all my three pairs of dangly earrings, the little silicone pads in the clips kept falling out and getting lost, but replacements are now glued in.  That's a fiddly job with large hands and fingers and I needed both pairs of glasses to see what I was doing!  I've also bent the clips on one pair so that they are now much more user-friendly, I've been able to stay in them all day so far 🙂  With my eyebrow pencil having lost the fight to the sharpener last night, I asked Ian very nicely if I could order another one from Amazon today.  I may have added a few other goodies to the basket too 🤭  Rather looking forward to a knock on the door, next week Fiona should have some makeup upgrades and some new hair to try on 🤗 .  Oh, did I mention I work from home?  Some days that might be a convenient euphemism 😳

Went out with my wife today, fully cross dressed. First stop the beauty salon where my wife had a waxing appointment. While she was in the treatment room I just sat around in the main salon with the clients having their nails done. I have now booked a waxing at the same salon in a couple of weeks time.

From there we went to the ladies fashion shop where we have bought many of our clothes. While she was browsing I was chatting with the lovely sales assistant who really got me going with cross dressing and is now quite a friend; she complimented me on the outfit I was wearing. I discovered the trivial fact that she was born exactly one year (to the day) after our son, and I agreed to countersign the passport application for her daughter.

Overall a lovely day.

@finallyfiona I love this thread, Fiona. It's a wonderful way to think about the ordinary and everyday triumphs, and celebrate the little things.

Thank you. 🙂 It's destined to be a long runner!

Let's see. I live on my own, so weekends are a chance to dress 24/7. To be honest, apart from those horrible boy-mode excursions to work, my whole life is an opportunity to dress 24/7 🙂

I wore some of the clothes I bought in the Boxing Day sales while out shopping with my sister ...  which was lovely. I spent the morning chatting on the CDH forums, talked to my sister for a while, worked on writing a book for a few hours, and then had a lovely luxurious bath complete with full body shave while reading a book by Savannah Hauk.

A quick squirt of CK1, dressing, then back on the forums.

This evening i cooked myself a roast (sticking within acceptable limits, as I'm dieting), made myself a Margarita (despite the diet, I need my treats) and now I'm spending a bit of time writing some longer messages to friends.

It's been a good day 🙂

@ellyd22 Thank you Ellie!  I can't take any credit for the idea, but I've always enjoyed this sort of community blog.  If it helps us to appreciate the little positives in life, then so much the better 🙂

Wow that sounds like superb weekend you're having - lucky you, Ellie!  🤗 It's been male mode for me all today and again tomorrow, with only limited time here on CDH when my laptop screen can't be seen.  But on the plus side, taking OH's daughter back to Uni today gave me two long car journeys during which I've pretty much composed a coming-out letter to my neighbours.  If I can just get comfortable with the idea of them knowing, and how that might (or hopefully might not 🙂 ) change my friendship with them, it would open the door to potentially much greater CD enjoyment, with essentially the freedom to venture out in public.  I won't muse any further on that for now though, because that would be a thread-worthy discussion in its own right.

Hugs,
Fiona xxx

Coming out to neighbours. That was one of my bigger challenges over the last 3 or 4 weeks, but in the end it was a series of non-events. Given the configuration of our shared drive area, I was sure they must have caught glimpses of me dressed over the preceding weeks/months, so I decided I should talk with each of them directly as the occasion arose. Without going into a lot of detail with them I wanted to make sure I was not making them feel uncomfortable. Two neighbours had noticed me and were totally unbothered about it (one was elderly ex-RAF squadron leader, the other middle aged fitness enthusiast). Third neighbour was a lady who hadn't noticed me but was really happy about it and thanked me for sharing it with her.

So, Fiona, you know your neighbours better than me, but if they are anything like mine I would hope you have nothing to fear and everything to gain.

Fona I love doing little feminine things daily to keep moving forward on this wonderful journey.  I usually dress a bit every morning and have coffee with my wife.  This morning, being Sunday I decided to do a bit more and go all out at least for me.  Matching panties and bra, matching pantyhose and skirt with matching blouse (I usually am a mix and matcher and not very color coordinated).  Earrings and necklace to compliment the outfit.  color coordinated wig and some subtle makeup.  When I come into the sitting room my wife greets me "Good morning stephanie and you look so nice in that outfit"  then tells me it is her favorite.  My heart skipped a beat or two for sure and made my day.  We then went online and ordered some stockings and my first garter.

Best coffee ever

Yesterday, I received some more drawer organisers, so I spent time reorganising my main crossdressing drawer. I have way more frilly panties than I will ever need, more bras than I will probably need for a long time, and any misfits will be donated once I find an appropriate charity. In other words, the drawer doesn't need filling up anymore nor will I need more shoes for a while. (You can't have everything. Where would you put it?) Outer clothes is another story.

All of my old drab underwear and socks are gone, if they had lost their elasticity, and all of the rest will be set aside or boxed up.

@finallyfiona Another thing that I have been working on since I bought an epilator is my fur.

YEOW! Let's take this slowly, Hairy, OK? 😱

I first went over areas that are already shaved or depleted of fur from using an IPL for so long, now. My legs are the most clean and it still picked up some stragglers. Since my shoulders are still flexible, I was able to get rid of most of my back fur myself. Do yourself a favor, take a pain pill first.

My chest and belly will take some time. This hurts, some areas worse than others, but I am working on it. I am also reworking all areas with an IPL because combining systems has to speed this up.

My wife is eyeing my results, but hasn't said much yet. Our daughter saw my hairless legs, last year. I have to be careful with her.

@harriette Awww hell I remember the first time I used an epilator back in my 30s, when I was as hairy as I ever got.  Ye gods did it all hurt, but I got everything eventually (leaving my arms).  There's a lot less hair particularly on my legs and chest now, and it comes out a lot easier.  I graduated to mostly roller-waxing maybe 7 years ago, with hard wax for the intimate bits, but the epilator is still the best thing for some areas, and to get the missed hairs the next day.

Today, I finished getting the major remaining areas defurred, my chest and belly. Very tender. I went over my lower half thoroughly and only a little is left in my groin. I will go really slowly there, but that is all that is left, except my arms.

The second time going over cleaned areas were much less painful because only a few stragglers were pulled out. I was really surprised as to how smooth the back of my hands feel without hair.

Now I have to start using the IPL more. A combined attack.

@harriette Yeah I did everything again after an absence of a few months on Thursday night, I mentioned it in my update at the bottom of this thread.  The belly is always a bit tender, plus it's irritating when the stubble grows back underneath my waistbands in both (male) under and outer clothes.  This is one area really I ought to use IPL on - I did buy a non-brandname one to try out, which didn't hurt, but I never got round to repeating the process regularly enough.  Another resolution for this year!

@finallyfiona Good for you. The IPL worked fairly good on my legs, but after a year of frequent use, there are still quite a few stragglers left. I am hoping the epilator works better in them than the light.

You have to be diligent at doing it regularly, every day, if you can. Remember, heat is a killer of electronics, though, so don't let it get hot.

Also, don't fret about the cheap ones. For the price of a brand name one, you can buy 10 cheap ones. Just take care of it as if it is an expensive IPL.

@finallyfiona our two dogs and I are enjoying the house to ourselves for a week while my wife is visiting our daughter.  While my wife is supportive, her absence will give me the opportunity to experiment. First I want to see how I look with a 40C figure compared to my regular 40B and second will be with makeup. Apart of when I attend training classes with the dogs, I plan to wear breast forms all the time. A size during the day since it is un conspicuous under a winter jacket and jeans or leggings which I cover with wind pants when I am outside. I will keep my skirts and tops more casual. I intend to wear my heals at least two hours a day and spend more time commenting on forum topics. Let the fun begin!

@finallyfiona Wonderful question Fiona! Last night I was surfing the net and came across a wonderful site for lingerie. Secrets in Lace....they definitely have a lot of pretty things and I've got a set picked out that includes a bra, thong and garter belt. The stockings I've chosen have a seam up the back and will absolutely compliment the lingerie. This morning I woke up thinking about it.....what a feeling! Tonight my task is to find the perfect heels...wish me luck.

@nikki1166 Mmmmmm, you've just put a though into my head ... seamed stockings!  I do need (well, I could definitely fancy!) replacements for my laddered plain ones.  I'm sure I could also be persuaded to extend to a pair of stiletto heels to go with them, it's so strange how easy it is to up-sell to me when it comes to clothes and shoes ... 😳

@finallyfiona Today I'm dressed for the sixth day in a row (hooray!) and just doing my normal things.   I'm going to a park to take hike and them I'm going to run some errands.  I saw this great Glossier lipstick that I think would look great on me so I'm going to the mall to pick it up.   Hopefully, I can resist the pull of the Lululemon store in the mall.....

Hello Fiona

I think letting us know how days have gone I wish I could do the same, I would love to have the dedicated en femme opportunities you have. When I have the chance like that I welcome the chance to answer the door en femme to a delivery person it gives me an ego boost.

Nice to meet you Fiona I live in Buckinghamshire not too far away.

@finallyfiona Well, today my wife and I went looking for an agate stone ring for her birthday tomorrow (yes, I know, it's valentines day, it's also our 48th wedding anniversary. Lucky me, I never forget! Ha ha). Anyway, we didn't find one she liked so another trip to Edinburgh soon. However, we decided to look through the charity shops and my wife picked out a dress for me and was also looking at earrings.

A little thing but it made me feel so loved!

@finallyfiona Hi, Fiona, thanks for your kind words, I'll pass on your best. And, yes, we will probably visit a few. I had said to my wife that I'll donate a couple of my earlier pink fog purchases to charity and buy a really nice dress, hang the expense! However, the one she picked for me is really lovely, black, patterned knee length, sleeveless with fine mesh above the bust from Quiz. She says that's a good make, certainly felt good this evening 😊.

So far, I bought 3 pairs of stretchy jeans (2 in the nice, dark indigo jeans blue), so that I have more variety, plus they don't have flares and are not short in the leg. Short in the rise would be great, too, but I will see that when I try them on.

I also bought my first 36A bra with extenders, today, since my band size is 38". I should be able to wear it OK without breast forms. My most expensive bra and I had personal, unflinching help from the sales clerk.

The day isn't over yet.

Didn't get to hit the shops today but shaved my legs and buffed my nails. Not sure if I'm alone on this but I always each month look forward to sitting down buffing my nails with a cuppa. It's such a relaxing thing to do.

Yesterday I bought my first ever pair of boots. Suede (ish), black, over the knee, 2.5” block heels. I am in love with them, first try on was with my denim miniskirt and black pantyhose, maybe a little risqué for a girl of my age but oh the feeling.

Nice question, Fiona!

Weekends present me with no dressing opportunities, sadly, but I did go for a haircut. That's only relevant here because my frizzy greys were becoming a little too visible the last time I wore my wig (a couple of days ago), so they've been chopped back.

On my way home I called in at a couple of charity shops and picked up a white and black jewel neck midi dress with cap sleeves, and a black knee length pencil skirt.

(Yesterday I bought a handbag and a purse.)

@jacquelinelarkspur Same here, just my CD thoughts to keep me going through the weekend.  How unusual to be happy in any way to get back to the office on a Monday morning!  But that's what CD life seems to be doing for me at the moment.  Enjoy the new outfits 🙂

Well, today was not much in the way of en femme as it was snowy and wet here, but yesterday (Friday) was delightful. A few weeks ago I received an anticipated elevation in my employment position as I have been on the job for over a year. The new title also brought a notable and needed salary increase. The first year at the new job was, from a financial point of view, difficult because of a low salary and a need to save for taxes on investments. Thus, I had little non-budgeted funds at the end of each paycheck. Once the extra monies starting flowing, I decided to take a bit of it and expand my boot collection and purchased several pairs. Well, three of them arrived yesterday and I spent far too much time trying them on with different outfits. The fourth and final pair was due to be delivered today but as I was grocery shopping at the time of delivery, I missed the mail carrier and now, have to go pick them up at the local post office on Monday.

Today my hips are aching because I started some exercises to build them a little - it was a nice excuse to get into a pair of tights, too 🙂  I was hoping it would also be intense enough to maybe burn some belly fat, but something tells me I'll need a LOT more cardio to do anything significant there 😳  I also threw in some glute control exercises because like many tall guys, Ian walks without them engaged, losing support for his lower back.  Spending time in heels is another excellent way to get them to engage automatically, of course 🙂

@finallyfiona Fantastic - what a buzz that must have been - Sure to have made your day.

As an aside, I found the other day being fully dressed that my phone did not open with the facial recognition, so it promoted me to use the passcode but could not because I was wearing long nails and it was impossible  The reason I say this as I was due a delivery of a new wig and thought great if it came today and even was ( like you ) going to answer the door fully dressed. Eventually though managed to get into the phone only to receive the notification and picture that it had been delivered.

Only trouble was that it was next door that he delivered to and she does not come home till 6 pm and be long back in drab by then.

Foiled again x

@justjillian Yep, still feeling very pleased with progress today 🙂  Ahh, how frustrating for you though!  I hope the wig's all you'd wished for when you next get the chance.  Since the postman's visit I've been trying on a new one myself, shoulder-length wavy blonde.  Not sure about the look yet with a face like mine (maybe my planned makeup try-on this evening will help there) but it feels lovely, like a gentle warming hug around my neck and ears.  I could get used to this!

Today I spent the entire day at work dressed, with wig & make-up - a little lippie, mascara and some pencil eyebrows.  Jewellery including earrings.  Been slaying it in this maxi-dress with my big hips and DD forms, not just that but Fiona writes some good source code in the day job too ya know 🙂 Later added perfume, then stick-on nails after dinner.  Now just tucking into some chocolate panettone and a mug of tea by a full mirror, to the strains of that new Peter Gabriel album.  From total empowerment to glorious girly fog 🙂  but still with the music to feed my drab self ... and I rather like it too! 🙂

Today I'd literally just completed doing my makeup and put on my wavy blond wig, when the postman knocked at the door.  Like last time, I greeted him in full Fiona mode with a big smile, and took delivery of a pair of secondhand girly ankle boots I'd bought online.  They turn out to be a perfect fit for UK size 11, lovely and comfortable, I'm really pleased with them.  I rather fancy going out for a walk after dark 🙂  Maybe even before dark, if the neighbours go out!

I rather fancy going out for a walk after dark

I did it!  The new boots were just what I needed 🙂  I must have walked about 1½ miles in all, towards town, round the edge and back another way.  The solid clack-clack of the flat heels was a pleasant surprise at first, but it really helped in maintaining a calm, steady pace.  Head up and smiling the whole time, enjoying my shadow in the street lights with her feminine shape, long hair and skirt visibly moving, her free arm swinging in time.  There were a few other people out and about and traffic passing, but no-one gave me a second glance that I could see.

That was soooooo much better than first time that I walked out after dark, last summer - back then I was hiding beard stubble and no makeup under a longer grey wig, all half-inside the hood of the same winter coat that I wore tonight, and androgynous footwear at best.  I was quite rightly clocked, and loudly, by a couple of teenagers on bikes, luckily they carried on their way rather than turning round and making things difficult.

The next hurdle will be to step out fully en femme by day ... I'm tempted to do the round trip walk to the local post office next time I have a parcel to post - but sitting here tonight, that's a lot easier to say than it will be to pluck up the courage to do!
