Hi All
this question pops in my head quite offten
What would be a good name, saying, terminology for a boy that prefers dressing in girls cloths and having gentler qualities when their a child. In the UK Tom Boy is used and accepted as name for girls that dress mainly in pants (trousers) and are more rough when playing.
I thought of Jane Girl
What would be the term you think would be an appropriate one?
Nancy boy is the common term - as per the Placebo song.
Not sure why it's "boy" in both cases - a bit sexist if you ask me!
"Nancy boy" is the only term I have heard, and only in the context as an insulting term for gay. But many (most?) folks are unaware that "straight" crossdressers exist.
In USA the only term i have heard would be ‘sissy’ which is definitely derogatory. The problem is for a male to dress or act female is largely unacceptable even in today’s society so and names are derogatory.
I don't know. I've worn pantyhose and pumps since I was 4. I didn't have any label. When I began dressing fully fem, myself and others who dressed were called transvestites or TV. Then it became crossdresser. Recently I heard the name ladyboy. I think that was definitely me in my youth and teens.
I'm too old now to be a ladyboy but I think that is the best, most descriptive and flattering term.
