Do you sometimes come across an aroma that you have to stop and enjoy? I'm not talking about perfumes deodorants, or sprays But aromas coming from different activities or sources that you may pass or indeed created in your work.. Example: one of mine is the hot smell of tarmac being laid I absolutely adore that aroma it gives off. Another I get is from my farming background the sweet aroma of freshly baled hay. What unusual aromas do find yourself attracted too, that makes you stop and inhale its pleasure?

Hi Amanda,
Fresh cut grass is an aroma I enjoy.
Alice
Amanda...
I pass the Palmer's brewery which is close to the Dorset coast...they have a large working water wheel, operated by the river that runs along side the building ..it's lovely to sit there in the summer...and take in the heady scent of the hops being used for brewing......

just picked up new tires for the front of my truck, love the new tire smell. Won't last once they're on the truck. Fits the specs of unusual, right?
HI Grace,
Yes I know where that is, beautiful part of Dorset too. Sounds an ideal place for a ploughmans picnic.
Lol Amanda xx
Yes Alice I should think that would be a popular choice.

Well it sounded much more idyllic than........
Marmite on hot toast!!!!
Hi Kelli,
Absolutely sweetie, exactly what I was looking for from posts, the unusual. Brilliant.
Lol Amanda xx
Well I like marmite on hot toast, but that might be pushing the boat out at a picnic unless I bring the barbecue set.
Would PN kit-Kats do?

rode with a friend earlier today just bought a new truck all leather interior. Love the fresh smell of leather. Wish could find a air freshener of leather smell.
A recently cleaned guitar emerging from its case.
It's the mix of smells - both guitar and case have their own aromas: my Fender has light ash, and the Gibson's are a heady mix of Rosewood on the fretboard, mahogany and maple in the bodies.
The lemon oil in the fretboard cleaner has a brilliant, sharp note, the guitar cleaning fluid is not great by itself, but the polish is OK.
Mix them all up, and opening a guitar case to bring one of those sexy ladies out to play is the nasal equivalent of a sweet, chiming chord from Fender, and a bit of a brown growl from the Gibson's.
Then you attach the leather strap, wipe the fretboard with a little fast fret, and try really hard to remember the chords to a song... any song, in that befuddled state...
Oh, then there's the warm crackling of heating valves, and the unmistakable smell of old electronics warming up as you wait for the amp to hit peak operating temperature - that's a great smell too!

Two that I can think of. I love the smell of pine trees when I am walking in the forest. I also love walking past a restaurant early in the morning and you can smell the pancakes cooking.
Freshly cut wood
Freshly cut pine, opening a new box of tea. Love the earthy smell of a misty woods after a light rain.
Love the smells of Christmas around from the smells of poinsettas to the smells of mistletoe. the hickory smell so many others.
