FYI, I will soon go "dark", for a while, because of my upcoming open-heart surgery, to repair my mitral valve. I named this Operation Heartbeat.

This situation deteriorated really quickly, from first discovery til now took about two years, so I am glad that it will be looked after now. The operation starts on August 15th and I should get released within a week, but I have no idea when I will be active here again. I will probably be preoccupied on my recovery, for a while.

In the meantime, I am still reading CDH.

Best wishes to you Harriette. Everything is goin to be fine and a smooth recovery where you just have to sit and do nothing else than being active on CDH. Probably about 6-8 weeks

Let us all know how everything goes.

Hey Harriette

Sending my best hugs. Make sure and touch base with us, post-op, as soon as you feel able - there's going to be an awful lot of girls here wanting to know how you are!

Thanks, gals. I am sure that I will be fine. It won't be my surgeon's first rodeo.

If I am up to it, I will be moving around as soon as they allow. There already is a regimen set out for me and I don't want more sitting. 😉

Prayers your way.....  My mom had a mitral valve replacement a few years ago and my best friend had his aorta valve replaced 6 months ago.  All did just fine.  It was a tough road the first week while the healing took place.

It is scary, but you will be just fine.....  Best to you...  Staci

Thanks for your encouragement, Staci!

Although, I don't look forward to having zipper marks under my neck. That will affect which clothes I wear, including maybe some drab clothes.
