I asked a question last week about deliberately shrinking clothes that were too large. I inadvertently bought some on sale that were too big.

I put them through a hot wash and tumbled dried them with our normal washing yesterday. Yes they did shrink a little. 1 skirt, and a dress fit perfectly now.

Another skirt and top fits and look ok. But the Vee of the top is a little too deep for my liking. The skirt has shrunk in length and fits lengthway perfectly. But still a little loose around the waist. But its designed to wear with a belt. So its not a big deal.

Overall im happy with the result. I bought them on sale very cheaply. $5 and $10 each. Marked down from $50 and much higher. Prices i normally couldn't afford. I had left my glasses in the car and trusted the hanger size label to be accurate. I won't make that mistake again. Hence my buying clothes 2 sizes bigger than I normally would.

@mary If you want to cover up the deep V-neck, there are covers that you can wear underneath it. Some bras have chest cover, too.

I glad that you we were a help and that you didn't waste your money.

@mary I might have to try this with a couple of skirts, both eBay purchases. Happily, in my case it's because I've been successful in losing some weight; skirts that were formerly quite snug are now starting to slip down.

As the diet continues, I may need to invest in some skirts with belts 🙂
