Hi all!
I am planning a trip to pick up my daughter from university of Vermont in Burlington this Saturday. The round trip is too much for one day, so I was planning on driving near burlington on Friday and looking to get some femme time in that Friday night.
does anyone have any suggestions for cross dresser friendly towns, salons, restaurants, shopping, etc that are in Vermont but outside of Burlington? Preferably a half hour or more south; I have friends in Burlington that I don’t want to run into. I know that sounds silly, but that is my comfort level at this time; I need the anonymity!
thanks!

I've been to Burlington a few times on business. It seems very accepting, though you might notice some graffiti in areas that would normally be well taken care of. There is a little park by a boat pier that seemed safe and public enough if you wanted to walk around. I didn't notice until I looked it up on Google Maps (it was snowy when I was there so I didn't see it) but there is a walking trail from that park that will probably be out of normal line of sight along the water's edge. The area is named Perkins Pier.
Hi Valerie,
Burlington is quite CD friendly. In Williston you’ll find a Torrid in Maple Tree Place that is CD friendly. In South Burlington in the mall you can browse Victoria Secret or JC Penney’s. There is an Applebees in the mall.
If you are a lingerie fan there is a shop in the outlet mall in Essex that you might enjoy. The staff has the personal touch and walking in while drab is fine.
Be cautious on your trip. Many roads and bridges were hit hard by the flooding a couple weeks ago in the Capitol city. I think the interstate I89 highway is back open but ongoing repair may slow you down.

I've read Vermont is one of the most inclusive states in the US, with around 5% of the population identifying as LGBTQ. Montpelier and Middlebury look like good options for an overnight stay. But I think the chance of running into your friends in Burlington is very low.

Thank you Alice! I checked out the lingerie shop you mentioned and it was fantastic! The owner was running it when I went Saturday in guy mode. I asked for a strapless bra (thinking omit next years keystone trip!), she asked what size and if it was for me. I said yes it is (thank god I don’t get as embarrassed anymore) and said 38c. She said if it was for me then it should be a 36c without measuring and let me try it on in the dressing room. She also said “I am going to get you something that you don’t realize you need but you do”. It was a pair of really comfortable bulge hiding underwear. I bought both and she was amazing!!

Thanks vecca, I ended up staying outside of Burlington in Berlin. I checked out based on recommendation a friendly bar called fox run market and bar. Very low key but very safe…just what I was looking for!
You are correct Emily; chances of running into my friends are pretty much zero. My paranoia is getting lower but still exists to a small degree. I stayed in Berlin, near Montpelier, and went to wig goddess Clare for a makeover and wig. She was great!! Very familiar with the community! Highly recommended
Glad it worked out Valerie! Congrats! Hope you get to do it again soon!

Well, my daughter is going to be a freshman at Burlington, so definitely yes for the next four years; hopefully no more!
Hi Valerie,
Your timing was really great. The owner was in New York Monday and Tuesday on a buyers trip for next Valentinesday. Glad you had a lovely visit and found what you needed.

UVM is a good school. Burlington is a cool little city. I used to live near there. Winters are brutal though.
