I'm guessing most CDers have scores of examples of times we borrowed (stealthily or openly) some girly thing -- clothing, makeup, etc -- from our moms, sisters, girlfriends and wives over the years. Does anyone have a story about one of those women in your lives borrowing something girly from YOU? I don't mean like when my wife borrows (and has now commandeered) a pair of boxers and t-shirt of mine to wear to bed (and as an aside, why is it that when women borrow guy stuff from us and wear it, we all think it's sexy but when the opposite happens, most people say "eeeewwwwww?)
For me, back when my wife was accepting and even encouraging, a couple items (among many) she bought for me was a purse and a below knee length black skirt. When it came time for her to sing in our church Christmas concert, she asked to borrow the skirt! It made me so happy that we were sharing back and forth along those lines (and also that my waist was small enough back then that the skirt didn't fall down around her ankles! Lol). And now she uses that purse a lot too (even though of course now we don't discuss how it got there).

Happened twice for me. I nearly forgot about the first time until this post, but she borrowed a pair of stockings once when we went out on the town several years ago. I’m 6’2 she’s 5’2 so they were a little big but they worked. More recently a year or so ago she inadvertently wore a black trench coat I keep in the coat closet. That was more funny then anything. I didn’t point it out to her, just chuckled to myself. She wouldn’t have cared if told her, probably would have just smirked and rolled her eyes.

As my SO went off to work this morning, kiss on the cheek goodbye, I thought to myself "that's a very nice top she's wearing today... hang on a minute...!"

Our clothing tastes are different, so she rarely borrows from my closet.
However, I have noticed some of my lipstick tips are worn down (I am anal about keeping that wedged shape on lipsticks for as long as possible), she just grabbed one of my foundation sticks, and one time my black eyeshadow.
On a cruise one time, she borrowed one of my purses as it was big yet small enough with a strap to carry to formal night for supper.
My wife has borrowed a few things off me. I get a huge kick when she does. I have two dresses the same, except one is red, the other is orange. We were going to a BBQ one summer evening, and my wife was stressing about not having anything to wear. I suggested one of the dresses. She wasn't keen, but tried one on and liked it. I was going in DRAB mode. At the BBQ people commented on the dress and asked where she got it. She had no idea where it came from so hastily made something up. She wore it a week or so later, and I went and changed into the other one.... It felt amazing to both be wearing the same clothes.... My wife did complain that I looked better in it than she did 🙂
That dress now resides with the rest of her clothes.
She has borrowed a few jumpers off me as well. Luckily we are very much the same size... Good for me, not such happy news for my wife 😉

Hi Stephanie this allways sounds like an echo in here with this name he he .. yes as my wife has many times went into Stephanies closet and rummaged thru to find something to ware .. As poor her she has nothing at all he he .. As of lately i went to wear in the house as cant go out a black skirt and top noticed the skirt had a stain asked wife and he he she said tried to get it back before you saw it missing took it to wash then asked if she could shorten it a little as she was a little shorter than Stephanie and it dont quite fit right so lost another item to wife not the first and supposed it wont be the last he he its fun ..

My gf's wardrobe is mostly made up of black tights and oversized hoodies so when something comes up that requires something slightly less casual lol, she has no problems looking through my somewhat extensive collection. We do have some similar tastes and alot of fun with friendly kidding over it.
I was going to say that my fiancé hasn't borrowed anything yet and that I have been told that she has all intentions of borrowing my new and very beautiful Victoria's secret bra. We weren't even out of the store before she said "I'm probably going to wear your bra" lol. When we got home she had bought a bra also but tried mine on first and said "yep I'm definitely gonna borrow this sometime ".
She has borrowed my thongs before. I was doing laundry and found them which gave me the opportunity to run into the living room and ask " have you been wearing my panties?!" She didn't find it quite as amusing as I did.
I swear that I buy more tights than my wife does - she's always asking for a pair...

The most egregious was the outright theft of my Coach purse as I bought it. One of those "Oh, for me? Thanks!"... nothing i could do. She has also snagged some of my makeup but that's no big deal. Other than shoes, we don't wear the same size, so not much clothing.

I can relate to this as my wife who isn’t a big fan of pantyhose and use to give me pairs when we first started dating ( that’s another store maybe I’ll post sometime). We had a function to attend and she was wearing a dress and needed a pair black pantyhose and asked if I had any at the time. Which of course I did and always have a nice stash of them in stock. So I asked her “what would you like.” Control top, all sheer ,reinforced toe or sandal foot”? She just kinda laughed and yes “ a black pair”. Funny how the tables turned !

One time she should have, but didn't. We were going to see my daughter play in a marching band competition. It was about 2 1/2 hours from home, and it was going to be a cold night. I offered her a pair of ladies thermals that I had to wear. She told me, no, it will be all right. So instead, I wore them, followed by a pair of tights, both under my jeans. Of course, she was freezing, and we had to leave before the awards ceremony because she couldn't take the cold any more. (It was a fight just to get her to stay even that long.)
Four years ago my mom passed away. My now ex and I had already been separated. She had nothing to wear to the funeral, because all she owned were jeans and capris. I gave her a black circle skirt with an elastic waistband. It's probably the only thing I had that would fit, because she has very wide hips. So she wore it until we got back from the burial and then changed back into her capri pants.
