All,

I recently purchased two new bras that have slight padding in them.   I usually hand wash my bras, and I have a silly question.

Should I remove the pads before washing?  If I do, do I wash those separately?

Seems like a silly question, but all my other bras do not have padding in them.

I'd appreciate some advice.  Thanks!

Leah

If you can remove the pads I would and wash separately. They may lose their shape if washed in the bra. They would probably dry better too.

I have hand washed padded bras for years with no issues. I make sure they are hung to air dry and I form the cups when I hang them to dry.

I'm very lazy and just chuck them in a gentle wash cycle, and give an extra spin in the dryer.

So far so good, but sometimes the straps go a bit curly!

Hi Leah!  Hope summer is going well for you!

I typically don't wear padded bras, and wash them in a bra mesh laundry bag.  The bra "bag" has some plastic reinforcement so it stays in a cylinder shape.  The bra laundry bag came with a set of other mesh laundry bags -- on Amazon for <$10 as I recall.  I use the other mesh bags for lingerie on delicate mode in our washer.

Hand washing probably does a better job, but I like the convenience of the laundry bags and haven't experienced any damage to my garments using them.

Hi Leah

I have a number of bras with light removeable padding and I do much of the laundry. I find that these when put into a laundry bag can be washed by machine although the pads do quite often get muddled up in the bra or occassionally come out. Putting them back in or re-aligning them just takes a minute or two of fiddleing.

Leah,

Some of my padded bras have removable padding, but  a couple don't.  So I wash all of my bras and panties in a nylon bag, running the gentle cycle.  Panties and gowns are dried on Delicate, and the bras air dry on the shower curtain rod.  I think this is the same as Bobbi posted on one of the forums a few weeks ago, and it works very well for  me.

I just put my bras/thongs in a medium bra bag and wash them on gentle cycle.
