Just seen this on the BBC...

"Sacked LGBT veterans can reclaim removed medals"

Well, what can I say?  About bloody time!

This was a disgusting thing to happen in the first place and taken far too long to be corrected.

That’s great news!!! Being in the military (US) this really hits home for me. This should have never happened in the first place. Thank you for posting this. Hugs Katey

I can't understand why that happened in the first place. Of course, there's more acceptance now than before. Perhaps our time too may come. If have been mad if they took mine away from me.

I served my time in the Royal Navy, late 60s through the 70s. Any hint of homosexuality back then was met with instant dismissal. I didn't earn any medals during my peace time service but yes, I would have been upset if they took any earned medals off me.

As a US Navy veteran, at least they realize and have tried to atone for a rather disgusting and despicable act.

Sorry...

I'm not a political animal..

if you put your life on the line to protect your country and the people who live in it ,you wear the uniform!!,

so who cares what you wear underneath it....

I never actually served in the military myself, but i respect all the people who did, and to all the people who served i would like to say thank you for keeping us safe,

My father served in ww2 he was an ambulance driver served in France, North Africa, and was with the Americans in Italy, he was my hero,

No one should have their medals taken from them ever x

Exactly!!  Not to mention, why should anyone give a damn what your personal preferences are?

I think in some ways...the old way of..."Hey, thats none of your business!" applies.

XO Robyn ❤️
