I went to the gym this morning as I do most days. This time of year since it’s a little chilly in the mornings I always yoga pants as part of my workout attire. You know, the stretchy, tight fitting type. As I was working out I remembered that when I weighed myself this morning, I was not happy with what the scale said, (I’m pretty sure it’s broken). I figured since it was a nice day, a walk in the local park would be lovely. I stopped by my house and completed my outfit to something suitable for a walk. I added bra with forms, a gray long sleeve top, makeup, wig and a pink zip up hoodie.
As I was walking something reminded me of another time a few years ago when I was living in Fredericksburg VA. There was a popular trail that I walked 2-3 times a week. There was always other people walking so I would often see the same people multiple times in a week. Everyone was always friendly and we greeted each other cordially. I would most often wear a shoulder length, light brown wig as part of my outfit. One day it was a bit warmer, so I opted for my darker brown, short bob wig. As I was walking the trail I came across a lady who I often saw walking her two little dogs. I said good morning and she stopped, looked at me and said “you cut your hair, it looks lovely! “ I said yes I did. It was getting too warm for longer hair. Two things occurred to me at that point. 1-she had no clue that I was not just another woman taking a walk on a nature trail. And 2- I would now have to wear that short brown wig whenever I walked that trail or risk having to explain what the real situation was. Made me laugh this morning as I remembered that story.
Women are far quicker to notice and comment on something different about you. I have a style of wig that is cut in by my hairdresser so when the one I wear is finished I have the next ready to go. It looks fresher and slightly longer but the same style and comments come as it is noted.
Dressing up and going for a walk is so e of my favorite thing to do. Most people nearby are so friendly and I have gotten so many compliments
Nice story Emily!

Hi Emily'
Thanks for sharing this wonderful story.
How are your knees? I seem to remember you had surgery on at least one of them.
Hugs,
Autumn
