Caty got me to thinking why not go to a Dr appointment as Karynn.  I was nervous waiting to enter the reception area.  I finally entered and the receptionist I went to was fantastic.  She asked me if went to a salon she uses and after I said no, she said I must have a twin.  She was so nice.  We chatted for 15 minutes while she was typing up forms.  Then a second receptionist joined in.  I was totally relaxed thanks to these two.  I then waited for the lab person to get me and she was awesome also.  The breathing test took about 45 minutes and we chatted in between sessions.  It was a totally wonderful experience.  Go for it girls.  The medical people are really great that I have encountered.

@karynn being accepted by others is the best.  I have gone to my doctor, acupuncturist, eye doctor, and dentist.   All these professionals have been so accepting of me as Cassie.

What an exciting experience Karynn. You go girl! I've often heard that medical staff are amongst the most accepting. I guess they've seen it all.

Hugs, Chrissie xx.

I have gone to my primary care provider and optometrist.   I was treated with great courtesy and friendliness by all the staff.

@kdahlenbergen I agree.  I think the medical staff have been trained in treating everyone as a special person.

I've been to see my GP a few times as Cerys. Blood tests and general consultations.Never an issue and on of the GPs asked all the right questions and was genuinely interested in why I crossdress. She knows that I went through hell with depression some years back and she knows about my recent dice with death.... She was happy that I found something to help with all the sht that's going on in my life, and encouraged me to carry on.

I've also been for a physio visit. He was great too.

Health professionals wont care how you are dressed. Just be you.

@dazzler I changed providers when I moved back in 2019.  My previous primary care provider knew about my gender non-conformity and I wanted my new provider to be informed as well.

Karyn -

How wonderful for you.

The closest I have come to that was a dermatology appointment I had. At the time my toes were painted a pretty pink and my legs were shaved. The only thing that was said was by the nurse and she thought my toes looked cute. It was nice to get that compliment. Hope you get to do it again.

XOXO
Suzanne

Hello Karynn,         I am pleased that you went to your Doctor's appointment fully dressed. I went to my hospital appointment earlier this year for my Pacemaker check up fully dressed as well. The nurse was fine with my appearance, she even had a trainee with her & they were both ok with me.

I've been to my eye doc, foot doc, lung doc, neurologist and GP without any problems. At my dentist, as soon as I walk in the door, I get "Hi Fiona" from everyone.

@d44 I think the medical people are the best places to attend as our female selves.  They are very accommodating and pleasant!!
