Yes, we are on a site called “Crossdresser Heaven,” and obviously we all have an interest in crossdressing. There are many common problems and issues that we all face, and we all could find commonalities with any other person here. However, we are also all unique personalities who do what we do for unique reasons.
The truth is, just like in any population, there is a wide range of personalities, sexualities, ethnic groups, racial groups, interests, etc. in our group. Some people get that, and some do not. I’ve had many crossdressers and non-crossdressers who simply assume that I fit into a certain “mold” that they think all crossdressers fit into.
For instance, the other night, I was chatting on a crossdressing website and some guy asked me if I was excited wearing my panties. Since my reasons for crossdressing are not really sexual, and the mere act of wearing panties is no more exciting to me than any other time I am wearing underwear, I had to dissappoint him.
Another time I had a very aggressive dominatrix type IM me and tell me that she wanted me to take off my heels and lick them. My heels are too expensive and nice, and I assume not very tasty, so I politely refused.
I had another guy who begged me to humiliate him and make fun of his manhood. Since I have no desire to humiliate anyone, whether or not they ask for it, I declined the offer.
I’ve had many times when another crossdresser will hit on me, even after I tell them that I have no romantic interest in other crossdressers. I’ve had guys who just whip out their thing and start masturbating while talking to me. I’ve had guys who want to dress up for me, in my clothes no less.
The point being, we really do need to get the word out more that we are a diverse group. We are not all porn stars, or crossdressing for sex purposes, or waiting to be humilated, or waiting to humiliate someone else. We are not a fetish, or a fling, or an “experiment.” We are individuals with our own unique perspectives and stories. That’s the side of us that we need to get out there more. Just my two cents.

I agree entirely with what you are saying, in the short time I have been here on CDH I have had three incidences of people assuming I'm here for some sexual reason. CDH is, in my opinion a pretty safe site, but even here we can receive unwanted attention. It is clear, as you say that the message is not getting across as well as perhaps it should be. Just how we address that problem I don't know, but from the replies you have had so far, there is clearly support for your point of view. Many thanks for your post, you have put it over very well.
Hi Cynthia. I loved your article, think you have hit the nail on the head. Personally, I don't use chat sites because certain fools out there think that chat lines are for their perverse amusement only. There are sites for them but they choose to spread their non-sense over decent sites. I don't envy the "policing" girls on CDH who try to prevent this sort of stuff. Keep the faith, girl. Well exposed and sustained, Cynthia. I agree with your point of view. It's a fact that you can't label people like if they were things. We are unique and unrepeatable. We just don't fit into any mold.
There are a lot of chasers in the world. I have received very weird proposals. Sometimes chatting could become an awkward adventure. I have been invited from being a girlfriend to moving with someone I have just met and live on the other side of the world. One has to be very careful. Some think that because you show affable and understanding you need their company. That you beg for their love. Fortunately I have not had incidents in CDH, where I have only found love, friendship and respect.
Sometimes I have felt suspicious after having paid the consequences of being human with someone. But, as I had learned here at CDH I will always encourage people like me to keep going. I'm a fighter, a survivor, and I never give up.

Couldn't agree more. There are so many levels of transgender, from the simple ones who fulfill their need with just wearing high heels to the complex one who want to become a woman physically.
For sure we are not all the same me I wish to grow breasts biger the better l love bras and panties I like painting my nails and warring stockings though I am a guy I like kissing men (that wish to kiss) I envy transsexual and cross dressers
