Hi Girls,

I was showing a friend my most impractical clothing purchase.

I bought a bright red leotard that almost feels like its made out of wool.

Its cut medium high at the hips has a snap button up front from say the belly button to the neck.

The cleavage area is a red mesh and it has these 4"wide ruffles that run from just below the breasts up and over the shoulders and slightly down the back . One on each shoulder.

I wish I could attach a photo

I thought it looked ridiculous when I saw it  on poshmark but I started getting attracted to it.

I don't know where you would wear it but It makes me feel sexy.

so girls what have you bought that was impractical or ridiculous?

Patty

For me it seems anything long sleeved is an impractical purchase.  I rarely can find anything that my fit my arm length and yet I keep trying.

For me, its my shiny pink strapless bodysuit and white tutu. I do occassioally wear it around the house when I'm in a silly dance frame of mind, it is cute and my gf gets a kick out of it. As for the reality of wearing it Anywhere, not sure that would happen lol

When starting to build a wardrobe earlier this year, my wife and I would make a run through various thrift shops. At first,  I was intrigued by sequins and soft, silky, satiny fabrics more so than style, fit, or ability to wear outside of the house.  So, yes, several ill-fitting and gaudy items entered and exited my wardrobe earlier this year, though some of the fun silky ones I've kept even though they will never see daylight, LOL   They just feel so nice...

Hi Olivia,
But isn't it fun to wear.

It may be my most practical outfit as it makes me smile.

I never even imagined I could move my hips that well, and yes absolutely grinning all the while.

A latex leotard. Since I am a fanatic of swimwear, I see a leotard as the same thing. The pictures on those eBay posts make them look really good and really comfortable.....but I quickly found that looks are deceiving. The first time I put it on, it ripped off so many hairs that I almost gave up ever trying again. The second time, I decided to try with leg and body hair shaved off. It was even more difficult to put on after that. Although I don't have it anymore, I still look at them online because of how nice they look.

1st dress I bought, catalog mail order was way too small, but it was 'practical' if not exactly wearable.  I can think of two totally impractical purchases, 1st was colored days of the week panties (yep, 7 of them), and the second was sort of a cross between a tie-dyed and paisley body suit (long sleeves) with matching scarf. That sort of mod look - a real 70's gem. All gone in my first purge.

One of my latest purchases is a beautiful blue long bell sleeved dress with a V neck and built in choker.  The problem is that it is done up at the back by small buttons and loops that can only be done up by a second person.

As a sad and lonely (sob) old lady it is impossible to wear.  I 'have' managed to put it on a hanger so I can look at it from a distance.

Hi sally,
I am so sorry,
If I was close by I would button that up for you dear and I would hang around as long as you needed to wear it and unbutton it for you.
I understand how frustrating that is dear.

I had a French maid dress on last night (my other impractical purchase) and I couldn't zip it up completely.

My wife was asleep and I don't think she would approve any way.

I purchased the "Exclusive Body Shaper" in pink, from En Femme about a year ago. There was nothing wrong with the product but it definately did not work on my frame. I managed to get the thing on my body once, but it was extremely tight, restricting and very hot. In fact, it was so tight, I had to recruit the help of my SO to get it off me!! I have made many mistakes thru time, especially purchasing on line. Womans clothing manufactures are never consistant across the board when it comes to sizing and/or I purchase something that looked good on the model, but not me with my bowling ball figure!!

Well, I bought this cami which was suppose to give the illusion of breasts. I can get it on but taking it off is like pulling a Rhino through an empty bean can. Sheesh. This is a fun thread.

Hi Jessica and Bren,

I was hoping this post would be fun.

I find impractical outfits to be fun some times.

I am with you, I Have been stuck a few times and had to get my S/O's help a couple times in the dressing room at goodwill ,LOL

I love the Rhino through a bean can thing too funny.

I love sports Bras but the pull over ones almost trap me every time.
very difficult to remove.

Thank you girls for sharing.

Your all so great and fun to talk to.

Love Patty
