i was in the store a few weeks ago. i saw a pair of knee high boots with heels, size 12. i tried them on they fix but were a little tight. so i went about shopping. before i left i thought i never seen a pair of boot that size. so i went back and got them. they were only $25. i took them home and stretched them out a bit. they fit nice and a great winter item for my dress or skirt. got a few complements on them already. what did you just have to buy?

Not sure.  Probably a few pairs of panties.  They wear out after a while.  Much of what I buy now is maintenance purchases.

In the near future, I'll need to buy a few conservative dressy items for interviews and family matters.

Hi, Rachel.

The last two things I just had to buy are a cheongsam (Chinese style) dress. I've been wanting to get one for ages but, when I suggested it to my wife, her reply was "Hmmm" so I didn't bother. Then I saw Melodee's @melodeescarlet pic and ordered the one I'd been looking at. It's gorgeous!

Also, I found a pair of women's wing tip brogues with a 2" heel in a UK size 12.5. Love love love them, so comfy and they look great. I was enthusing about them to a friend and offered to send the link. Only to find they're "Currently unavailable"! A good reason not to procrastinate, see it, want it, buy it 😊.

Good topic, Rachel.

@prettytoes - I think that just about everything I've bought, I've 'had to buy'. Such is the compulsion of being a crossdresser. My latest items are a pair of metallic silver, chunky-soled-loafers. Unworn as yet, but safely stored for the right occasion. 🤗

@prettytoes Well in person I just picked up a new compact and finishing powder. I do have an order coming any day now of some pantyhose, some more coloured tights, a blue sweater dress, some clip on earrings and a pair of brown ankle boots.

I'd say my first pair of sandals. I'm not much for open toe ware. But I'm really like these sandals. Considering painting my toes now. 🥰

@prettytoes I just had to buy a couple new pairs of tights. The weather here in the mid-Atlantic region of the US is about to enter into an unusually cold stretch. These new tights will be a welcome addition to my nightgown to keep me warm during these very cold nights.

High heel ankle boots in my case! That’s 3” of heel, which in my case, is as high as I can manage. Joanna💕

Bought some mid-calf-length boots with two inch heel this very day; they were already in a post-Christmas sale and for today only, had another 20% off. I didn't need them but I couldn't leave them behind either!

@prettytoes I've always bought UK size 9 shoes for male me, but strangely, I can get into a woman's size 8, which is a size that many shops have in stock. My feet aren't particularly wide either, so that helps quite a lot.

@annaredhead Probably going to Truro on Wednesday, just for a change as don't go there very often since the music shop closed.

@rebeccabaxter I'd not been for a while. Sad to see the book shop and the craft shop in Tinner's Court that I liked had gone.

@prettytoes I am going to recommend DSW if you have one around you. They do go up to size 12 in a lot of styles which, luckily, I can fit into. 12 is already hard to find but I can see anything larger than that being a bit tougher to get in stores. And I know you mentioned 12 being right on the edge of being wearable but it might still be worth a look.

@nataliecd i looked there before, they usually only carry up to size 10 or 11. i use to get shoes at payless but they went out of business.

I guess I am going to echo others as well. I too bought some boots (not quite knee high but upper calf I guess) from DSW last weekend when I was last out as Natalie. I did go there specifically to find a pair of boots. No heel on them, which would have been preferred, but otherwise they were perfect. And I found them in the clearance section and the saleslady found a $10 off coupon for me so I got them for $45 from their normal $80 price. Overall, I am quite happy with them.

Prior to that, I did purchase some new items online, such as a new purse and some sweaters and skirts. I got them today but haven't tried them on quite yet. Hopefully most fit me and fit my style.

I actually ran out of velvet hangers for all of my new clothes. Even after removing any male clothing from the closets, I was still out of hangers, so I had to order new ones. I know, boring buy. Clothing wise, my last purchase was a pair of fleece lined leggings.

The last item thar I bought was a pair of stretch pull on jeans. I got them from Amazon. The are so comfortable and I love the fancy stitching on the rear pockets.

Somehow, even after I lost at least 7kgs, (12lbs), I went up two band sizes and could not wear my extensive (and in some cases expensive) underwire bra collection anymore.

I've kept some with extenders and taken our the wires, but basically had to end up with 7 new wire free bras in my new size. Cos of their "rarity" none of them were cheap.

In addition, I've "bought" alterations to 3 lovely Arianne bralettes, cos they went "bust"(bad pun) and a/. I could not replace them and b/. unless I did they were too tight to wear, even as daytime drab

Caty.

PS Whilst waiting for my new bras to come from Europe, I bought a Playtex "cross your heart". Now I'm not knocking anyone who wears the above, but "femme me" kicked in and I hated wearing it every time I did so.

Weird stuff, t alone especially when I wore it to bed and did not even like the fit ,let alone how I felt it looked on me

I saw what looked like a rather nice dark grey jumper dress in a charity shop a couple of weeks ago but didn't buy it and afterwards I rather regretted not doing so.

Skip forward to Tuesday just gone, and I went back to the shop, not expecting it to be there, but there it was and it had been reduced to only £4. I simply had to have it! And it is super - not too tight but accents my 'curves', feels good and looks rather sweet.

Prior to that, the last thing I had to buy (out of necessity) was black eyeliner.

Not sure I “had to”… 😉

I think there is nothing more feminine than a girl in uniform - especially flight attendants and I have spent years tracking down my favourites in my size. Thanks to eBay and Vinted, I managed to find the dress, matching belt, jacket and scarf for a certain British low cost airline and recently added a matching black padded bra, panties and pantyhose. I already had the shoes… of course!

Today was the first day to try the whole outfit on. It felt amazing. I don’t look so female in it although I am proud of the shape of my legs and the way the push up bra gave me shape. Not a lot I can do about my face!!

@gymphlex Flight attendant is big on my list too - would love a genuine Qantas uniform (any era) but they are hard to find.

@maquette13 - they are really hard to find. I really loved the Peter Morrissey dress but not so sure about the more recent one by Martin Grant with the diagonal pink and red stripes!

My all time favourite is the Emirates uniform.

@gymphlex yes to the Morrissey “Wirriyarra” design. I loved the way the girls on Qantas looked in that uniform. I’m glad you had a chance to build a uniform. I have the shoes and tights only at this stage.

Nobody has ever bought me any CD items, so I have always had to buy my own. My last addition was a couple of long sleeved tops from the womens dept of Walmart.

Gosh, I don't remember the last thing I "had to buy". I think I kind of subconsciously stopped doing that. I almost always think about all I have and will this purchase fit with the rest to make outfits rather than just one thing to wear.
