Hello my beautiful ladies,

I'm sitting here at work and the thought came to mind,  how do we choose our fem name.

I'm currently considering trying to change what I will go by when dressing. The thing is I've used Tonya for so long in so many different things.  I'm an avid gamer and when I get the chance is a female character and we can all guess what her name ends up being...

Then there is a fact that most of my friends know me as Tony. So adding an a to the end of it is a no brainer plus Toni has been used as a nickname of Tonya's I've known in the past... so it works out really well...

The reason I kinda want to change it is that I feel Toni and Tonya are used a lot... by many in the CD community and for GG's... I would like a less common name dishing that kinda stands out.

So anyways the whole reason for this long story... lol 😆

What Made you choose your fem name? Just a curious question

All the Love

Tonya

I originally called myself Bridget (got calls Bridie) after my mum. Was going to call myself Valerie after the 1st girl I really loved. I met her in Primary School who was in my class. She didn’t feel the same way but. Eventually I chose Elizabeth (Liz), the name I would have liked to have been called if I’d be born female.

Good Morning, Tonya!

I was thinking of using "Chelsee Bando" as my name. She's a character in the Tex Murphy detective video games from the 1990s. The series got shelved for a decade or so, but they created a new games recently. They're a total hoot!

My Barb Wire name is a tribute to my mom. It's her middle name and she was gorgeous and had a wicked sense of humour. She raised my all on her own. My "father" took off before I was born. I guess it worked out, got surrounded by many women! Guess what I became... 😂

Good luck with your naming and gaming!

👸🏽 Barb

Angela is what I would have been called if I were born a girl. Mum now uses that name for me now.

My surname came about by accident. A few years ago I was seeing if I could get a second credit card in my femme name. It was in the days you could call and talk to a human. I didn't know if it was possible but very quickly they were taking details of the second name. I hadn't thought things through and on being asked the surname I just gave 'Booth'. It was part of the address I had at the time. So I didn't really choose my name at all!

That is an excellent question!

My alter ego is named for a very special gentleman in my life, my Godfather, Daniel Gene.
I feminized my given name so as not to confuse myself... 😉
My fem family name is an anglicized version of my Italian family name.

Had my mom named me, I would have been Catherine Marie.

In post secondary, my (ex) classmate's name was Wendy.  She was beautiful, I didn't lust over her (being good friends it would be akin to incest) but I admired her beauty and her spot on flair for dressing incredibly sharp.  She could take the most plain t shirt and jeans, and turn it into something spectacular.   I really liked how she dressed, it was fashionable, and very neat and clean.

So that is where my first name came to be.

For my last name, I'm a huge Taylor Swift fan.  Again, I also admire Taylor's fashion sense as she can rock any outfit she wears.  She has an incredible figure and pairs her fashion so her figure really shines thru.  She doesn't dress slutty, nor does she dress like an emo.  Her fashion sense is really clean, and shows off her beauty very well.

Daft really, but it was one of those Facebook things "What's your Drag Queen name?" You take your gran's name and the last chocolate you ate. So, Constance Twirl. That was a while ago.

Later, when I needed a femme name to register here, I remembered Constance, shortened it to Connie and off we go.

I stole mine.

It was a character I played in a costume party that my wife arranged.

It was also the first time I ever went fully femme - my own makeup (terrible!), wig (blue), 3" stiletto thigh boots, forms in the bra - 100% femme.

All her convent school friends were there, plus 2 male partners, and my daughter - so I consider it my coming out party, even though I had to fully come out to my wife later.

It wasn't like it was the first costume party I'd dolled up for, so it still strikes me as odd that I had to explain, but there you are!

The name just seemed like me. I felt so comfortable and natural around everyone, and only one person, the new boyfriend of one of my wife's friends, thought it was odd to see me dressed that way - but he'd never met me before, so maybe that says a lot about male me!

Everyone knows I like to dress up, and I frequently "do drag"...

Like, hello! CD, here!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍

Oh well.

And Lor! I do love it!

Love Laura

Hi Tonya,

Indeed, truly what's in a name?  For some there's very deep meaning and for others it's simply playfulness.  Regardless, the only thing that matters is if the name fits with what YOU see in the mirror.

For me...  Cindy was the name of my first crush in grade school.  And, as for my last name, I wanted something super generic and common.  Jones won on a coin toss vs Smith...lol.  That was a long long time ago.  Since then, some of my online friends started calling me CJ or CJ Jones.  I decided to make it official by adding Jocelyn as a middle name.  So... I'm now Cynthia Jocelyn Jones.  But really it's still just Cindy.

For you...  If I may say so, I think Tonya is a great name.  Depending where you search, the classic meaning of Tonya is "worthy of praise", "praiseworthy", or even "fairy queen" which are super fantastic in my opinion.  I always like to look at the definitions of names on urban dictionary too.  From what I see, I'm thinking about changing my name to Tonya now (wink).

Anyhow, whatever you decide, you are beautiful and it will be the right choice.

Luv, Cindy

PS - I'm a little biased.  In my youth, I really wanted to look like the "young" Tanya Tucker

My first name came from an alien female character in a science fiction Adventure/Role playing game. I just thought it sounded so pretty and feminine (I love my name so much). My last name I just sort of pulled it out of a hat.

The Mass Effect series. You can play the main character as either male or female. Of course I play as a female.

I thought Michelle was a very feminine girly name. It also resembles my given name. A lot of people must agree with me. There are a lot of us on here.
